 My name is Xu Chengben, and I am an employee of the Ocean Fishing Company in Yantai City, Shandong Province. I live at 203-p Fuyuan Rd., Zhifu District. My wife He Xiuling and I started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. We conducted ourselves following the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." All of our diseases were healed after we practiced Falun Gong.

On July 20, 1999, Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioners were arrested, jailed, fined and brainwashed. Their families, friends and workplaces were also affected. My wife and I appealed for Falun Gong, but we were arrested and jailed at a detention center. We also went to Tiananmen Square to tell people that the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong is wrong.

I have been jailed in detention centers seven times, jailed in a labor camp once and in brainwashing classes three times. In December 2000, at Haidian Detention Center in Beijing, the police asked some criminals to take off my clothes. To avoid being seen, they closed the door. Then, they poured cold water on me for an hour. Four to five criminals stretched my hands against wall and used their knees to push my bottom against the wall so that my feet barely touched the ground. Then they hung a bottle of water from my penis and swung it. Moreover, three to four criminals watched me, forcing me to stay awake for four whole days. Whenever I fell asleep, they would poke my nose and ears with needles, which made me very uncomfortable. They also slapped me to keep me from falling asleep. In the detention center, the policemen often beat me with electric batons, which made my face swell up and my lips bleed. They also sprayed nerve-damaging drugs at me.

Since I refused to renounce my belief in Falun Gong, Bi Wuyi, the head of the CCP committee in my company, along with Ju Chuanzheng, the chief of the organization department, Luan Shide, labor and materials division head, and Li Changhai, the political head of the security division, held a brainwashing session, asking more than 30 people to brainwash me in turns, trying to force me to renounce Falun Gong.

In April 2001, I was jailed in Zhifu Detention Center in Yantai. The police locked my hands and feet onto the bed and I started a hunger strike. Five criminals pushed me against the bed, and the doctors force-fed me.

At Wangcun Detention Center, the police deprived me of sleep. I developed high blood pressure as a result. They forced me to get up every morning at 5:00 a.m. and do heavy labor. The working environment was full of poisonous stuff. At night, they brainwashed me until 10 p.m.

I was arrested several times when appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing. Every time, the police took away all the money I had. Then, they called my company to take me back. The people from my workplace always took this chance to have fun in Beijing and spent a lot of money on the trip. I was forced to pay all the bills for them. An officer from my company, Qu Yanbo, took 1,700 yuan from me, and the political head from my company took 4,000 yuan.

My wife He Xiuling was jailed in a prison in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province for 3 months. She was extorted out of 3,000 yuan. She was jailed in detention centers five times. In 2003, because she produced some truth clarifying material, the police department in Zhifu District and the local 610 Office arrested her and jailed her in Zhifu Detention Center. On March 11, 2004, she was very weak and was dying from the torture. The 610 Office and the hospital sent her into the morgue when she was still alive. She didn't even have any underwear on when left to freeze at the morgue. She was tortured to death.

After the Chinese New Year in 2006, her family members and I went to see her body, but the 610 Office and the detention center didn't allow us to do so.

When the National People's Congress and People's Political Consultative Conference were in session, the chief of the security section Li Chunye went to my home to harass me. The political head Li Changhai harassed me over the telephone.

On April 6, 2006, the police spied on me and my sisters. On April 8, the police spied on me again, which only added more pain.

I was shocked when I heard about the CCP harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners in labor camps, prisons, concentration camps and hospitals. The news also made me think again about the circumstances of my wife's death. He Xiuling was tortured to death at 7:30 a.m. on March 11, 2004. The head of the 610 Office in Zhifu District Li Wenguang called me to tell me the news. I got to the hospital at about 9 a.m., but I didn't see her body. I went to her room, but the police didn't allow me to enter. At around 11 a.m., her family members got there too. They saw her in the morgue, and she was still alive. When the medical examiner viewed her body, we were not allowed to see it. They just told us what physical problem she had, and let us have a glance at the body before we were driven out.

I appeal to the international organizations to investigate He Xiuling's case. What has been exposed about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong is just the tip of the iceberg. In order to avoid more persecution, I also suggest all practitioners in China to write down their experiences in order to expose and stop this bloody persecution as soon as possible.

 Mr. Cao Baoyu was a 56-year-old practitioner from Langfang City, Hebei Province. After being persecuted until he was in a life-threatening condition, he was sent by the Guangyang District 610 Office to Guangyang People's Hospital (also called Beidajie Hospital) for further persecution. Mr. Cao died in the hospital on April 27, 2006. The Guangyang "610 Office" has not allowed family members to claim his body.

At 11 a.m. on April 25, Mr. Cao's wife went to Guangyang People's Hospital to visit him and give him some new clothes. At that time, Mr. Cao was already in a semi-comatose state. Mr. Cao's wife demanded his release. However, she was taken away by several people, including the Guangyang "610 Office" Director Zhao Jiapu, a person surnamed Wang (could be Wang Huijun), Guangyang Government Office Director Liu, Guangyang National Security Policewoman Xin Pingyu, and others. They forced her into a car and took her to the Jiaotong Hotel Brainwashing Center for further persecution.

On April 26, Mr. Cao was in a life-threatening condition. His family asked to visit him but were refused.

On the evening of April 27, Mr. Cao died. On the morning of April 28, the Guangyang District "610 Office" notified Mr. Cao's son about this through a telephone call. However, so far the Guangyang District "610 Office" still has not allowed family members to claim the body. On the morning of April 28, Mr. Cao's wife was released after going on a hunger strike to appeal for four days. Mr. Cao's body is now in the Guangyang District People's Hospital in Langfang City.

 As of April 2006, authorities from the Duyun Prison in Guizhou Province have been transferring Falun Gong practitioners to a newly built prison ward. Falun Gong practitioners from Beijing, Shanghai, and Sichuan and Guizhou Provinces have been illegally incarcerated at this new facility. Practitioner Yi Siheng from Chongqing City has been on a hunger strike for more than 22 months, and he is in critical condition.

Driven by the secret orders from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) aiming to hasten the destruction of persecution evidence, the violence of the coercion, torture and exploitation of Falun Gong practitioners is continuing at the Duyun Prison (its public name is Duyun Cement Factory). They never permit family visits for the practitioners. Because the prison's function in persecuting Falun Gong, Luo Gan, the head persecutor, awarded the facility the title "Bureau-level Civilized Prison." Prison head Hou Lide was one of Luo Gan's former classmates. Luo Gan also decided that the ruling regime would allocate 20,000 yuan per Falun Gong practitioner held at the Duyun Prison, in order to encourage the prison to constantly escalate its persecution against Falun Gong.

Some guards at the prison said, "We are not afraid to go to hell for persecuting Falun Gong." They encouraged the other inmates to use all types of mental and physical methods to torture Falun Gong practitioners. They said, "Beating Falun Gong practitioners to death is nothing and will be counted as suicide or death from illnesses. You should show absolutely no pity, especially toward those who refuse to 'reform.' The Party and government are behind you! So carry out this order without any reservation!"

The prison authorities also sent guards to the Baoding Prison in Hebei Province, to prisons in Beijing and in northern China where Falun Gong practitioners are held, to study persecution methods. They sent guard Wang Shijun to the Yuzhou Prison in Sichuan Province, among other places, to study "reform" methods for nearly one month. After the guard returned to the Duyun Prison, the officials held a secret meeting to discuss how to reform and attack practitioners. They decided physical torture of the practitioners is necessary. They could even deny the practitioners their basic needs, including forbidding restroom use.

The inmates who persecute Falun Gong are awarded with credits that imply sentence reductions and a monetary rewards for each practitioner they "reform." They don't, however, post this policy on the wall like other prisons. Guard Wang Shijun said, "The facilities at the Yuzhou Prison are built in French-style. About 400 Falun Gong practitioners are held there. They are completely shut off from the outside from the moment they enter the prison, and they eat and use the toilet at the same place. Twelve inmates are assigned to watch each practitioner, and guards are in charge of this issue. The guards are awarded between 5,000 yuan to 10,000 yuan for reforming one practitioner. The inmates receive rewards and sentence reductions. Although our prison (Duyun Prison) is temporarily lacking in physical facilities, a new prison ward is almost finished, where nearly 1,000 high-standard prison cells meet our requirements. Whoever leaks the content of this internal meeting will have his rewards and sentence reductions withdrawn, and his sentence will be extended instead."  Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Hai, 39, lived in Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province. He was sentenced to five years in prison, detained in the Harbin City Prison, and then transferred to the Mudanjiang City Prison.

The prison has been conducting searches since March 16, 2006, and six detained Falun Gong practitioners have been locked in small cells (1), including Mr. Cui Guojun (11th Ward), Mr. Cui Hongwei (7th Ward), Mr. Dong Bin (3rd Ward), Mr. Wang Hai (2nd Ward), Mr. Zhang Wenli and Mr. Lu Zhankui (both from the 15th Ward). Among them, Mr. Wang Hai has been tortured the most severely.

The prison management office head Wang Xuhui (male), officer Hou Bo (male), and guards Song Junlin and Li Yakui (both male) tortured Mr. Wang Hai in all sorts of ways, such as locking him to ground rings with handcuffs and shackles, freezing him by stripping him, electric baton shocks, etc. They would torture him 4-5 times per day. Guard Song Junlin beat Mr. Wang Hai every day and dragged him on the floor by the shackles. They had to send him to the hospital to treat the injuries inflicted during torture.

Witnesses said that Mr. Wang Hai's body's is covered with injuries. His neck is very swollen from the electric baton shocks, his wrists and ankles are all scratched and the skin is broken with the bones exposed. Mr. Wang Hai is unrecognizable after being tortured for 14 days. Guard Hou Bo shouted, "I have tortured Wang Hai until he is half dead." When he was asked, "Are you still going to practice?" Mr. Wang still answers, "Yes" solidly. Others have been released, but Mr. Wang Hai is still being held back by the Prison Administration. The in-house Procurator even visited Mr. Wang Hai since his injuries are too severe.

People with justice in world, please help rescue all Falun Gong practitioners detained in Mudanjiang City Prison and help to end this senseless persecution.

(1) The detainee is locked up in a very small cell individually. The guards handcuff practitioners on their back in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell during the daytime. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.

 After using threats to prevent attorneys from defending Falun Gong practitioners Min Huirong and Sun Hong, the Justice Department of Qingdao City became even more malicious in undermining the law. It threatened the attorney for practitioner Mr. Cui Luning and attempted to coerce him into canceling his agreement to defend Mr. Cui at his second trial.

The Licang District Court of Qingdao City had sentenced Mr. Cui to five years at his first trial. His family members attempted to appeal on his behalf, but the court denied their petition. Mr. Cui's family then hired an attorney. The Justice Department of Qingdao City has openly interfered with the attorney's work.

From the very beginning, the justice department constantly pressured the attorney and demanded that he cancel his agreement to defend Mr. Cui.

On the basis of professional ethics, provisions in the law, and personal morality, the attorney refused to comply with this demand. An official from the justice department then called the attorney's law office and tried to intimidate him into withdrawing from the case. This official also told the attorney not to take any action on behalf of his client and to cancel the agreement altogether. In addition, the official told the attorney that he would not need to return the retainer fee and that the justice department would assume all responsibility.

However, this unscrupulous official was constantly fearful that his actions would be made public. Even as he threatened the attorney to try to make him withdraw from the agreement, he told the attorney not to tell his client that he was acting at the behest of the justice department. The official repeatedly emphasized that he, himself, was under pressure from "higher authorities." Of course, these "higher authorities" were the officials of the 610 Office of Qingdao City and higher level government organizations.

 The notorious Shaanxi Province Zaozihe Forced Labor Camp is located in a valley in Dongjihe Village, Fengxing County, Baoji City. It is a den of evil where male Falun Gong practitioners in Shaanxi Province are persecuted.

Led by chief Zhang Shilu, deputy chief Xing Yimin and other ruthless policemen, the prison guards and the drug addicts have made the Zaozihe Forced Labor Camp into a hell on earth.

Yang Jun, over 50 years old, is the head of the so-called "reform" office that carries out the forced brainwashing in the labor camp. He maliciously planned, instigated and plotted many persecution incidents that are still in use. For example, he has personally plotted the persecution of practitioner Mr. Ma Minghai, the volunteer coordinator for the Shaanxi Province Xianyang City assistant center for Falun Gong.

Since March 2003, the criminals have locked Mr. Ma Minghai into the so-called "psychological consulting room." He was watched by three merciless prisoners and was daily forced to study materials that defamed Falun Gong. Further, he was only permitted one to two hours sleep per day for 17 days straight. In the end, he suffered from mental trauma and could not fall asleep. Prisoner Feng Tao was instigated by the prison guards to monitor and beat Ma Minghai and often otherwise tortured him. One example was the method called "sitting on a sofa," which is to force his back against a wall with the knees bent into a right angle, and his buttocks hung in the air without support. This abuse lasted until the end of June.

Former political head of the Fourth Team Feng Xiyao is about 43 years old and lived in Fengxiang County. He had participated in the persecution of students during the 1989 democratic movement and often persecutes practitioners with methods that cause excruciating pain.

Wei Qiming was said to be a team bookkeeper at the Zaozihe Forced Labor Camp. Since Jiang Zemin and the CCP started the persecution of Falun Gong, he has actively participated. During the "forced reform" session run by the labor camp in July 2001, he was actively involved. He hung practitioner Liu Chong, a student from Chang'an University, from a water pipe with handcuffs, leaving only the tips of Liu's toes touching the ground. Liu Chong was hung there for three days.

During that session in July 2001, almost every steadfast practitioner in the "forced reform team" was persecuted by Wei Qiming. The methods he used were extremely devious. He also has a set of crafty lies. In the end though, his viciousness would always surface.

Wei Qiming often went from the Zaozihe Forced Labor Camp to the Shaanxi Province Women's Forced Labor Camp during 2003 and 2004. He abused, mistreated and tormented Falun Gong practitioners in the South Building (the so-called "reform building") of the Women's Labor Camp. He was known for striking practitioners in the head.

1. [Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Jizhi Extremely Weak and cannot Eat

Practitioner Ms. Liu Jizhi was raped by Zhuozhou City police in Hebei Province. At the end of 2005, she was illegally arrested by the police and suffered brutal beatings, humiliation, fines and rape. Later, she was forced to leave home to avoid being arrested again. On March 7, 2006, when she was at the Laundromat of the Xisanqi Air Force Scientific Research Courtyard of Haidian District in Beijing City, she was again secretly arrested by police from Baoding City and Zhuozhou City and was taken to the Xishan Hotel of Mancheng County in Hebei Province. There, she was tortured for 21 days. After the news was leaked out, the police transferred Ms. Liu Jizhi to the Nanma Brainwashing Center of Zhuozhou City to continue persecuting her. When Ms. Liu Jizhi first entered the Nanma Brainwashing Center, her physical body was still in good condition. However, her physical body is currently extremely weak. She was unable to eat food for many days. Even drinking water is difficult for her. Police are now forcibly giving her intravenous injections.

2. [Heilongjiang Province] Daqing City Railroad Station Using Surveillance to Find Falun Gong practitioners

On the morning of April 13, at the railroad station of Daqing City, a Falun Gong practitioner was carrying some CDs inside his clothes but was not carrying anything in his hands. However, even though he had not even reached the examination station on the second floor, he was stopped by a railroad staff member and then arrested by the railroad police.

3. [Beijing City] Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Zhengdong Persecuted at the Qinghe Detention Center

It has now been verified that Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Zhengdong, who was arrested in Beijing City at the end of March 2005, is currently being illegally held and tortured in the Qinghe Detention Center.

4. [Shandong Province] Ms. Wei Shuying from Xianhe Oil Extraction Factory of Triumph Oil Field Arrested

Practitioner Ms. Wei Shuying, a worker in the No. 4 Oil Extraction Well of the Xianhe Oil Extraction Factory, was arrested by police from the Xianhe Public Security Department on April 12, 2006, while she was at work. Reportedly, she is currently being held in a brainwashing center.

5. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Two Practitioners from Hanzhong City Arrested

Around the middle of March 2006, practitioner Mr. Cong Xuelin of Hanzhong City in Shaanxi Province and another unidentified practitioner were arrested.

6. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Practitioners in Pingdu City Arrested

At 6:00 a.m. on the morning of April 14, 2006, spies from the Pingdu City 610 Office and from the National Security Group again searched for, arrested and took away almost all Falun Gong practitioners in the city.

7. [Tianjin City] Practitioners, Including Jia Guimin Arrested

On March 28, 2006, practitioners Ms. Jia Guimin and her daughter Ms. Zhang Yali, from Dongzhao Township, Ji County in Tianjin City, were illegally arrested. Around the same time, two other practitioners from Dongzhao Township were arrested.

In addition, practitioner Ms. Chen Ruiqing from the township of Ji County in Tianjin City was illegally arrested on February 15, 2006, while she was posting truth-clarification materials.

8. [Shandong Province] Exam Materials used for Staff Members of Institutions and Organizations in Linyi City have Contents Persecuting Falun Gong

The annual exam materials meant for staff members working in institutions and organizations in Linyi City and Linyi County in Shandong Province list the following stipulation: those who persist in practicing Falun Gong are considered to have failed their annual exam. This exam material was distributed by the CCP Organization Bureau and the CCP Personnel Department.

9. [Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Jiang Baoming Forcibly Taken to the Changshan District Police Department

At the end of March 2006, the Changshan District Police Department of Songyuan City in Jilin Province colluded with Wang Xintian (male, an elementary school principal for children of workers at the Chemical Fertilizer Factory), and school director Xu Xiangshang (male), to illegally arrest Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Jiang Baoming, Ms. Tang Sude and Ms. Tang's husband. Ms. Tang Sude has already walked out of detention, while Mr. Jiang Baoming is still being held in the detention center.

10. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zu Xianyong Illegally Arrested

On the afternoon of April 6, 2006, practitioner Mr. Zu Xianyong was illegally arrested.

11. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Practitioner Ms. Gu Xinfang Arrested

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gu Xinfang was arrested a month ago, after she was reported to the police for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. She is still being held.

12. [Chongqing City] Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xie Chaoshu Arrested

On the evening of April 10, 2006, the Shentong Police Station of Nanchuan City colluded with the Banan District Shilong Police Station to arrest practitioners Mr. Xie Mingquan (in his seventies), and his daughter, Ms. Xie Chaoshu (age fifty), whose home is in the Shilong Town of Banan District. They are both currently being illegally held in the Nanchuan Detention Center. The police illegally confiscated many truth-clarification materials.

Mr. Xie Mingquan was released the next afternoon, while Ms. Xie Chaoshu is still being held in the Nanchuan Detention Center.

13. [Ningjin County, Hebei Province] Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lu Xinjie Arrested at Home

At 1:00 a.m. on the morning of April 14, 2006, police officer Shen Jianzhong (male) from the National Security Group of the Ningjin County 610 Office of Hebei Province instructed a group of police officers to break into Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lu Xinjie's home. They ransacked the home wantonly. When they found two copies of Zhuan Falun, they illegally took Mr. Lu Xinjie away. Mr. Lu is currently being held in the Ningjin County Police Department.

14. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Mr. Li Hong Persecuted and Dismissed from Work

Practitioner Mr. Li Hong from the Agriculture Bank of Anlu City in Hubei Province was reported at his workplace for distributing truth-clarification materials and was subsequently dismissed.

Mr. Li Hong has a family of five people. His mother is already very old and his brother is ill. His child is very young and his wife has no official job and relies on part-time jobs to barely make a living. Now that Mr. Li Hong has lost his job, his entire family has lost their financial support.

15. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chu Guanyuan Illegally Detained

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chu Guanyuan from Yingcheng City in Hubei Province was arrested on April 11, 2006, for clarifying the truth. He is currently being illegally held in the No. 2 Detention Center of Yingcheng City.

16. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhengzhou Illegally Arrested by Police

On April 9, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhengzhou from the Xin'andu area of Dongxihu District, Wuhan City was arrested by police from the Xin'andu Police Station when he was distributing truth-clarification materials. In an attempt to identify the source of the truth-clarification materials, the police purposefully released Mr. Zhang Zhengzhou. On April 10, 2006, when Mr. Zhang was in the field farming, he was arrested again. He is currently being illegally held in the Wujiashan No. 2 Detention Center of Wuhan City.

17. [Wuji County, Hebei Province] Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhi Fang Released Unconditionally

On the evening of April 2, 2006, a large amount of truth-clarification materials that expose the evil persecution as well as copies of "An Open Letter to Police Officer Zhu Baoshuan from the Political Security Division of the Wuji County Police Department" was found in Wuji County. Practitioner Ms. Zhi Fang, who was arrested at home by the Wuji County Police Department on March 20, 2006, was released unconditionally on April 4, 2006.

18. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Practitioner Mr. Gao Hui Facing Illegal Trial

The Kaifu District Court will hold an illegal trial for practitioner Mr. Gao Hui at 9:30 p.m. on April 17, 2006.

19. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Jianpo Illegally Transferred, Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Yang Jianpo is a Falun Gong practitioner from Langfang City in Hebei Province. Several days ago, because his physical body was extremely weak, he was sent to the Chinese Medicine Hospital of Langfang City for emergency treatment. On the afternoon of April 13, 2006, he was illegally transferred and his whereabouts is currently unknown.

20. [Jiangxi Province] Persecution Cases of Nanchang City Falun Gong practitioners during the Month of March

Recently, many Falun Gong practitioners in Nanchang City have been arrested while clarifying the truth. One truth-clarification materials site was damaged. At 9:00 p.m. on March 28, 2006, police officers including Zhang Yifei (male) from the Qingyunpu District National Security Group of Nanchang City arrested four Falun Gong practitioners. They also confiscated a lot of equipment. Several practitioners' homes were ransacked. When one practitioner's home was ransacked the police took four savings bankbooks, worth a total of several tens of thousands of yuan. The arrested practitioners are currently being held in the No. 1 Detention Center of Nanchang City.

21. [Fuyu County, Jilin City] Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Enhui Illegally Sentenced

Ms. Wang Enhui is a Falun Gong practitioner from Dongyu Village, Xiaojia Township, Fuyu County in Jilin City. On the afternoon of February 21, 2006, police from the Fuyu County National Security Group illegally arrested her. She is currently being held in the Fuyu County Detention Center and has been illegally sentenced to five years of imprisonment. She is in the process of appealing.

22. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Supplementary Information Regarding Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Wang Jiasheng and Mr. Liu Yi's Situations in the Detention Center

On April 2, 2006, six Falun Gong practitioners from Cangzhou City in Hebei Province were arrested. Among them, four practitioners have already walked out. The two practitioners who are still being held are practitioner Mr. Wang Jiasheng, who is being held in the Cangzhou City No. 1 Detention Center, and practitioner Mr. Liu Yi, who is being held in the No. 2 Detention Center. Currently, both practitioners are on hunger strikes. Mr. Wang Jiasheng is handcuffed behind the back every day, and has a gastric tube forcibly inserted into his body. His physical body is very weak, and he can only speak very quietly, thus his situation is very urgent. Mr. Liu Yi showed signs of lung infection and was sent to the Cangzhou City Infectious Diseases Hospital to be checked. Later he was held again in the No. 2 Detention Center.

23. [Xiangfan City, Hubei Province] A Falun Gong practitioner with the Last Name Liu from the Handan Electronic Instrument Factory Arrested and his Home Ransacked

On the evening of April 11, 2006, a Falun Gong practitioner with the last name Liu from the Handan Electric Instrument Factory of Xiangfan City in Hubei Province was arrested at home by police. The police ransacked his home, confiscating computers, printers and other items.

24. [Yitong County, Jilin Province] Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Jun Arrested

Around noon on April 12, 2006, practitioner Mr. Yang Jun from Dagushan Town, Yitong County, Jilin Province was arrested by police from the Yitong County Police Department, who had colluded with the Dagushan Police Station. Mr. Yang is currently being held in the Yitong County Detention Center.

25. [Hubei Province] The New Secretary of the CCP Political and Judicial Committee of Longganhu District actively persecute Falun Gong practitioners

The new CCP Secretary of the Political and Judicial Committee of Longganhu District of Hubei Province, Yuan Gan (male), immediately started to actively persecute Falun Gong practitioners as soon as he took his position. Under his direction, police officer Guo Chuan'an (male) and others arrested practitioners Ms. Wang Xueping, Mr. Hong Yajun and Ms. Wang Qiong.

26. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Jiang Yilan and Mr. Lu Xian'gui Arrested by Plainclothes Police at a Food Market

On April 14, 2006, at about 9:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m., Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Jiang Yilan and Mr. Lu Xiangui from Miyi County went to a food market to do some grocery shopping, but were arrested by two men and a woman with no justifiable reason. These three people did not find anything when they searched the practitioners. However, they still forcibly took them to the Panlian Town Police Station of Miyi County and handcuffed them. Later, they ransacked the practitioners' homes, confiscating a tape recorder and a Falun Gong exercise tape. The practitioners were illegally held in the Panlian Town Police Station until the afternoon.

27. [Liaoning Province] Prison Guards at Masanjia Prison Persecuted Falun Gong practitioners' Family Members for Requesting Visitation Rights

Since February of this year, family members of the practitioners who are held in the No. 17 Division of the Masanjia Prison have learned from their visits that some Falun Gong practitioners are being constantly beaten until they can no longer walk. The brutality of the torture methods is unspeakable. Family members were forbidden to visit for over one month. On April 13, when the family members again requested visitation, the prison still refused with the excuse that practitioners were being held in a "small cell" for spreading truth-clarification booklets and practicing Falun Gong exercises. Later, the family members went to see the prison director and strongly requested visitation. However, they were interrogated and threatened by the prison director, who even instructed the chief of the guards, Liu Yi (male), and some other guards to forcibly take one of the family members into a police car. They detained him for one hour before releasing him.

28. [Yanbian District, Jilin City] The Elementary School Chinese Language Textbook Compilation of Words, Phrases and Sentences Contains a Sentence that Defames the Teacher of Falun Gong

On page 14, on the last line of the second part of the Chinese language textbook, entitled Compilation of Words, Phrases and Sentences (Durenjiao Edition), for the fourth-grade to six year-old elementary school system, there is a "make-a-sentence" practice exercise that defames the Teacher of Falun Gong.

29. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhao Jinquan's Home Illegally Searched

In recent days, spies from the Qingzhou City National Security Group have colluded with Qingzhou City police to search Qingzhou City practitioner Mr. Zhao Jinquan's home under fabricated pretenses. Mr. Zhao was not home, but the police still ransacked his home.

30. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Mr. Xue Xinkai Illegally Arrested

On March 21, 2006, police from the Dalian City State Safety Division, the Ganjingzi District National Security Group and the Xinzhaizi Police Station detained practitioner Mr. Xue Xinkai. After twenty-one days of illegal detention, Mr. Xue was illegally arrested on April 11, 2006. This case has been transferred from the Ganjingzi District National Security Group of the Subdivision of the Ganjingzi District Police Department (the person in charge has the last name Song) to the Ganjingzi District Procuratorate. Mr. Xue Xinkai is still being illegally held in the Yaojia Detention Center.

In addition, the Ganjingzi District National Security Group is searching for Mr. Xue Xinkai's father.

Managing this case is the National Security Group of Ganjingzi District Police Department, working under Dalian City Police Department.
