Shiling Prison officials in Siping City, Jilin Province phoned Liang Zhenxing's family members on June 5, 2006 and requested that they come to the prison for a meeting. The prison officials clearly stated that Liang Zhenxing's wife was not permitted to attend the meeting. They also said that Mr. Liang was extremely weak from a month-long hunger strike. Two prison officials physically supported Liang Zhenxing as they brought him out of the prison cell for the meeting. He had a force-feeding tube in his nose.
Mr. Liang's sister cried inconsolably when she saw him like this. He sat in a chair at a table, but his hands were firmly pressed on the table so he couldn't move. When his family asked to know why, the persecutors explained that Mr. Liang could not sit up on his own.
Sixteen to seventeen prison guards then surrounded Liang Zhenxing's family members. Liang Zhenxing confirmed the fact that he had been tortured. It was June, and the weather was already hot. Everyone was wearing short-sleeved shirts, yet Liang Zhenxing was in winter clothing. He said he was feeling cold. When the family wanted to open his coat to examine him, the prison guards immediately and hurriedly carried Mr. Liang away, ending the meeting.
Liang Zhenxing was arrested in 2002 for his involvement in the interception of television broadcast signals in Changchun City, where local television signals were replaced with Falun Gong truth clarifying video broadcasts. He was sentenced to 19 years in prison. So far he has been held in detention for four years, and he has been transferred to several prisons for ongoing persecution. In the second half of 2005, Mr. Liang was transferred from the Tiebei Prison in Changchun City to the Siping Prison.
Mr. Liang is detained unconstitutionally. The prison authorities have unreasonably refused to let his family visit him. Liang Zhenxing started a hunger strike on May 6, 2006, to protest against the illegal persecution. The prison persecutors became frightened that their crimes would be exposed. Thus, between May 11 and 12, they requested Mr. Liang's wife to go to the prison to visit him. By then, he was hospitalized. When his wife saw him at the Siping Hospital on May 12, he was wearing shackles. Liang Zhenxing said that the prison authorities forbade anyone in the prison to converse with him. Even so much as taking a look at him was forbidden. Whoever talked to him or exchanged glances with him would be brutally beaten. He told his wife the reason for the hunger strike was to protest the persecution. He demanded that all practitioners be unconditionally released.

[Editor's note: On March 5, 2002, practitioners intercepted cable TV signals and broadcast truth-clarification video to hundreds of thousands of residents in Changchun. After that the police arrested thousands of practitioners in Changchun area at the attempt to find out who did it.]
After I read the Clearwisdom article of June 1st, 2006, "The Cruel Persecution of Practitioners Suspected in the May 5th TV Broadcast Interruption by the First Division of Changchun City Police Department", I proceeded to write down the things I knew to expose the persecution.
After the broadcast interruption incident, police frantically arrested Falun Gong practitioners. At the time, they suspected that I was one of them and treated me as a "special target". They arrested me on my way home from work and transported me to Luyuan District Police Department. I then went to the criminal detention center, and I was finally sent to the place where they persecuted Lei Ming and some others.
At the police department, about 8 policemen stood in a circle around me and slapped me again and again. A policeman named Liu slapped my face more than ten times, and another named Huang kept hitting my face until blood spurted from my mouth. They handcuffed both of my hands, and then lifted me up with rope so that only the tips of my toes touched the ground. Because of this, both of my arms were numb for more than 40 days. Huang demanded thousands of yuan from my family as the price for my release.
After that, they took me to the First Division of Changchun City Police Department, which had a secret place in the basement of the Jingyuetan Hotel. A metal chair was installed in each room of this secret place. They covered my head with cloth as I was led in. I could see where we are by the cleaning materials in the bathroom that had the name "Jingyuetan Hotel" on them. The three policemen that physically abused me were Gao Peng, Zhang Hang, and Jiang Zhong. I remembered their names from their conversations with each other.
In that place the police used electric batons to shock my whole body. The skin was broken and disfigured wherever they shocked me. A policeman named Zhang Xing would shock female practitioners' nipples and vaginas. He and Jiang Zhong each held an electric baton to shock my neck. A year later, those marks on my neck are still visible. They also used a black trash bag to cover my face, which caused me to almost pass out from being suffocated.
Later on, I met Ms. Wang Yuhuan and Ms. Chen Yanmei in the detention center. Wang Yuhuan had been diagnosed with breast cancer. I felt very sorry for her suffering, but she persisted in doing the exercises. When she could not rise, I read the Falun Gong books to her. She told me that after she was arrested, the person who tortured her was named Jiang. He would use an extra large sized electric baton to shock her. They would take her to a hill near Jinyuetan (Pure Moon Lake), tie her up, lean her up against a tree, and shock and beat her repeatedly.
You could still see huge bruises. I also heard about Zhao Jian from a practitioner who was detained with her in the same cell, who said that Zhao was also tied up with rope, and her whole body was shocked with electric batons.
Police who torture Falun Gong practitioners think that under Chinese
Communist Party protection, they can do whatever they want. They think
that they can hide the truth from everyone. They do not realize that it
is impossible to escape from the law of Heaven. One can only hope that
they will change their ways before it is too late.

Officials from the Yantai City 610 Office in Shandong Province made a decision on June 20 to cremate the remains of He Xiuling, a Falun Gong practitioner who was persecuted to death while unlawfully detained.
In 2003, officials from Yantai City 610 Office arrested Ms. He Xiuling in Wendeng City. She was imprisoned in Zhifu District Detention Center for a long time, where she suffered brutal torture. At 7:30 a.m. on March 11, 2004 persecutors from the Yantai 610 Office, Zhifu District Detention Center, and Liuhuangding Hospital sent He Xiuling to the mortuary even though she was still alive and breathing. She was stripped below the waist and left to freeze in the mortuary.
He Xiuling's husband, Falun Gong practitioner Xu Chengben, made a formal request to conduct an investigation on the actual cause of his wife's death.
After some discussion an agreement with the operators of the mortuary was reached that no one had the right to dispose of He Xiuling's remains without Xu Chengben's consent. Xu Chengben was also guaranteed permission to view his wife's body at any time. This agreement became a source of concern for the wicked persecutors. More detailed information related to this case was exposed in an article written by Xu Chengben entitled, "Persecutors from the Yantai 610 Office Sent He Xiuling to the Mortuary While She Was Still Alive," which was posted on Clearwisdom.net.
In April 2006, the police secretly arrested Xu Chengben. Recently, Yantai 610 Office personnel met with Xu Chengben's son Xu Hui, who hadn't spoken with his father. Xu Hui was tricked into acknowledging an arrangement to allow his mother's remains to be cremated on June 20, believing that 610 officials would provide economic compensation to the family and release his father.
On April 4, 2006, "The Coalition for the Investigation of the Persecution of Falun Gong in China" was established. The Yantai 610 Office's attempt to cremate the body and destroy evidence of the persecution is lamentable. We hope that the international investigative organizations, various governmental and non-governmental organizations, and friends and supporters of Falun Gong will note this atrocity and stop the lawless 610 officials from going ahead with their plan to cremate the body and destroy the evidence.

Starting April 14, 2006, the Heilongjiang Provincial Women's Prison reorganized the illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners, and cancelled the "training center unit" where the steadfast Falun Gong practitioners were imprisoned. They transferred practitioners to other prison areas individually, isolating them so that each prison cell had only one practitioner. During the daytime, the criminal inmates would go to the workshop to do labor, and only in the evening could practitioners have contact with the other inmates. Since May 5, the Heilongjiang Province Judicial Department and the prison administrative bureau issued a notice prohibiting family members from visiting the prison. A month has passed, and this prohibition has not yet been lifted.
Since the harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners
for profit at Chinese Communist Party labor camps and prisons was
exposed, public figures and organizations throughout the world have
been trying to go to mainland China to investigate the situation. They
hope to investigate the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners over
the
past seven years at each large prison, labor camp, and detention center
all over the country. We should be vigilant and together pay attention
to this recent situation at the Heilongjiang Province Judicial
Department.

In the last seven years, Haidian District Police Department and its Detention Center in Beijing have illegally arrested and jailed many Falun Gong practitioners. Some of them were tortured to death or have become permanently disabled. On April 7, 2006, the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG) announced the first group of facilities targeted for investigation and evidence collection. The Qinghe Detention Center in the Haidian District is one of them.
People may recall Zhao Xin, a respected teacher at Beijing's University of Business and Industry. When Zhao Xin went to do the Falun Gong exercises on June 19, 2000 in Zizhuyuan Park, she was arrested and detained in the Qinghe Detention Center in the Haidian District. On June 22 she was beaten until three vertebrae in her neck were fractured. Zhao Xin miraculously survived, but her injuries left her paralyzed. She could only move her head. After six months of suffering in unimaginable pain, Zhao Xin passed away on the evening of December 11, 2000, at the age of 32.
Zhao Xin was seriously injured by Haidian District Police |
1. Recent Arrest of Many Falun Gong practitioners from Haidian District
In the days leading up to October 1, 2005 (China's National Day holiday) the police in Beijing arrested many practitioners. Haidian District Police Department agents arrested close to 30 practitioners including Bai Shaohua, Liu Haihong, Yan Peng, Liu Yujian. Many of them were later sentenced to a jail term or forced labor.
This year, agents from the Haidian police department were more rampant in their persecution. They also broke the law in other ways: when the police arrested practitioners they didn’t show any legal documents and didn’t inform practitioners’ families where they would take practitioners. After searching practitioners’ houses, police didn’t provide any lists of what they took away.
On May 18 and 19, Haidian District Police Department and Qinghe Police Station agents arrested two practitioners from the Shunyi District. They are Yang Shijie and Wei Shuyun. Their whereabouts are unknown.
During the night of April 20, Haidian District Police Department and Qinghe Police Station persecutors arrested practitioner Guo Shunqiang from his house. His whereabouts is unknown.
On April 15, Haidian District Police Department and Huayuan Road Police Station arrested practitioner Song Xiuyun who is currently being held at the Qinghe Detention Center in the Haidian District.
During the night of April 4, claiming to be checking household registrations, Haidian District Police Department and Enjizhuang Police Station agents illegally searched practitioners’ houses. They arrested practitioners from Qixian Village Resident Area in Haidian District. Their names are Wang Kuizan, her daughter Jiang Yahui and three other practitioners, including Chang Chunyu. We have heard that Wang Kuizan and her daughter were sentenced to two years of forced labor.
During the night of March 19, Fu Hongyi and Li Jingtao from Haidian District Police Department took more than 10 policemen. They broke into the house of Fu Yongan and Liu Xianglan, retired employees from Qinghua University, and took away the couple and their visitor. They also searched Fu’s house and confiscated their computer. Fu and Liu are believed to be jailed in the Qinghe Detention Center now.
On March 14, Haidian District Police Department police arrested practitioners from Zhongguancun of Haidian District. They are Huo Zhifang and He Dongyong. Policemen searched their house. They are believed to be jailed in the Qinghe Detention Center.
In the morning of March 14, agents from the Shangdi Police Station and from the Qinghe Police Station arrested practitioner Zhang Xueqin and her daughter Chen Ping from their house. They have been illegally jailed at the detention center. Policemen said that Zhang Xueqin was sentenced to two and a-half years of jail term and Chen Peng was sentenced to two years.
On March 3, Haidian District Police Department and Qinghe Police Station agents arrested practitioners from Zhufang Village in Qinghe. They are Wang Jianlin and Dong Xuejun who are jailed in the Qinghe Detention Center.
Between March 3 and March 7, Haidian District Police Department personnel arrested three practitioners from the Second Research Center of the State Astronautics Department. They are Sun Lijun, Pan Guizhi and Zhang Suyun. Sun Lijun is illegally jailed in the First Division of Beijing Police Department. Pan Guizhi and Zhang Suyun are jailed in the Haidian District Detention Center.
On March 2, eight or nine plainclothes officers from the Haidian District Police Department broke into a practitioner's home. The practitioner from Enjizhuang Area in Haidian District is 63-year-old Ms. Sun Guizhen. Policemen searched her house and took photos of Falun Gong books that they found in her house. They later took Ms. Sun to the Haidian District Police Department.
At night on February 27, policemen from the Haidian District Police Department searched practitioner Yang Suwen's home and arrested her. She is from Shijicheng in the Haidian District.
On February 20, practitioner Mr. Li Dafan (56 years old) who used to work at the China Insurance Company was arrested by Haidian District Police Department agents. He is jailed in the Haidian Detention Center now.
On February 19, these same persecutors arrested practitioner, Ms. Li Hua (40 years old), who is an employee of Capital Normal University. They also arrested her husband Huang Shengjie. Several other practitioners were arrested that same day, including Yang Le and Liu Yongping who was going to be sentenced to two and a-half years.
The night of February 16, practitioner Ms. Xu Kun who lives in Baiwanzhuang, Haidian District and her 70-year-old mother were arrested at home.
On February 12, policemen from the National Security Group of the Haidian District Police Department arrested practitioner Yan Huiqin at Beigongmen, the Haidian District. She is jailed in the Qinghe Detention Center. She is very ill due to the persecution.
During the 2006 Chinese New Year, Haidian District Police Department arrested practitioners Zhan Aiping, Xu Chong, Xu Chong’s son, Mr. Chao, and Mr. Chao’s son. They were jailed in the Haidian Detention Center. Zhan Aiping was later sent to the Seventh Group of Beijing Police Department. Zhan Aiping’s husband committed suicide due to the threats. Her 20-year-old son is living on his own now.
<>During the 2006 New Year’s holiday, Haidian District Police Department personnel arrested 67-year-old practitioner Mr. Duan Lunhua and his wife, 62-year-old Ms. Wang Xiuzhen who live in the Jingouhe No. 2 Residential Area in the Haidian District. They are jailed in the Haidian Detention Center. They are retired employees of the No. 208 Research Institute of the Second Bureau of State Astronautics Department.2. Haidian District Police Department Agents rampantly persecute intellectuals
Many universities and research institutions are located in the Haidian District. There are many Falun Gong practitioners in Haidian District, too. The CCP agents tried all the tactics at their disposal to persecute those intellectuals who practice Falun Gong. Many employees from Qinghua University and from Beijing University were sentenced to forced labor and jail terms, which is directly related to the persecution by Haidian District Police Department officials.
Mr. Xu Yin, an associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Qinghua University had been awarded the distinction Excellent Teacher and Model Employee several times. Due to his significant contribution in his research field, he had received several city level and national level academic awards. He was popular among colleagues and students. On March 14, 2006, Haidian District Police Department persecutors arrested professor Xu Yin from his home. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor on April 13 for having Falun Gong materials at home.
Dr. Shen Yingbo, 43 year old, is a professor at Beijing's Forest University and the chairman of his department. He has published the most scientific articles at Beijing's Forest University. Nevertheless he had several times been arrested and jailed in detention centers and brainwashing classes because of his belief in Falun Gong. On September 20, 2003, he and other four practitioners were arrested from his home at the hands of Haidian District Police Department agents. He was later sentenced to three years in jail.
Mr. Zhang Wenge, 38 years old, is an associate professor at Beijing's Forest University. He is the principal researcher in his research group. He obtained his PhD degree from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In April 2000 he was sentenced to one year of forced labor because he appealed for Falun Gong. On September 20, 2003, Haidian District Police Department agents searched his home and arrested him. His wife Tan Fang was arrested at the same time.
Ms. Tan Fang is an employee of a foreign company. Her husband, Zhang Wenge, was later sentenced to three years in jail and she was sentenced to two and a-half years of forced labor.
Mr. Wang Yongqian, 33 years old, is a post-doctoral student in a national lab at the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is the principal researcher in his group. He was sentenced to two and a-half years of forced labor, and his wife Zhou Xiangyuan was sentenced to three years of jail.
Mr. Li Baoqing is a renowned research fellow at the Institute of Geographical Sciences and an advisor for doctoral candidates. The Chinese Academy of Sciences awarded him the distinction of Excellent Researcher in Significant Research Projects. He was listed in the Dictionary of International Biography, published by the International Biographical Center of Cambridge, England. Such a renowned scientist had been illegally jailed just because he practices Falun Gong.
Ms. Liu Jinghang is Dr. Li Baoqing’s wife. She was illegally sentenced to three years of jail. She is in Australia now.
Yan Xiaohua, a Ph.D. student in Institute of Zoology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Mr. Zhang Yong, a post-doctoral student at the Institute of Process Engineering (IPE), Chinese Academy of Sciences, formerly the Institute of Chemical Metallurgy, were also arrested by Haidian District Police Department personnel and illegally sentenced.
Haidian District Police Department persecutors also unconstitutionally arrested and jailed many times a retired professor from Renmin University, Qi Yuzhen.
3. United Nations takes note of several cases of Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted by Haidian District Police Department
Ms. Li Shulan was arrested on November 30, 2000 and taken to Haidian District Police Department. The police stripped off all her clothing except for her underwear and put her in a cell, where she was reportedly severely beaten by other inmates allegedly urged on by the guards. Her hair was pulled and her head knocked against a wall. A towel was tightly tied around her neck to choke her until she lost consciousness. Her eyelids, face, breast and chest were pierced with a ballpoint pen. Despite her poor condition, the police subjected her to electric shocks. Li Shulan reportedly underwent a hunger strike to protest this treatment. According to the information received she suffered from vaginal bleeding, and part of her body remained numb for a year. When she was released one year later she was unable to walk normally.
Mr. Zhang Jiuhai is from Liudian Town in Pinggu County, Beijing. He was arrested by Haidian District Police Department agents in April 2002 and electrically shocked with batons. The local police ransacked his home six times and detained his father twice.
Practitioner Yoko Kaneko (Luo Rong) who lives in Japan was also arrested and sentenced to forced labor by Haidian District Police Department agents. She was badly tortured at the Women's Forced Labor Camp in Beijing.
4. Haidian District Police Department often arrests and tortures Falun Gong practitioners from other places
Ms. Wu Yan was born in Huangchuan County, Henan Province in January 1975. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1997. She has been arrested several times because she clarifies the truth of Falun Gong to public and had been sentenced to one and a-half years of jail term. In the afternoon of November 22, 2005, police from Haidian District Police Department arrested her on the campus of Renmin University in the Haidian District, Beijing. She had been jailed in the Qinghe Forced Labor Camp in the Haidian District for three months, where she was beaten and tortured because she refused to identify herself. On February 23, 2006, she was sent to the Chaoyang District Detention Center. In mid-May, her case was transferred to Haidian District Procuratorate and it was heard that the court would give her an illegal trial.
Mr. Li Xupeng is from Shenmu County, Shaanxi Province. He teaches at the National Administration College in Shenyang City. He was arrested again for the sixth time at the end of 2004 and jailed in the Haidian Detention Center where he was tortured. He lost consciousness twice due to torture and was sent to a hospital.
Ms. Yu Wanlan is a professor at Huazhong Normal University. She was arrested in Beijing in April 2004 and was jailed in the Haidian Detention Center for eight months. After that, Haidian District Intermediate Court sentenced her to three years of jail term on June 2, 2005.
Mr. Xu Chengben is from Shandong Province. He was jailed in the Haidian Detention Center in Beijing. He recalled the persecution that he has experienced, "At the end of 2000, I was jailed in the Haidian Detention Center where the police directed the inmates to torture me. They stripped me and carried me outside where no one could see, and then poured cold water over me continuously for over an hour. I was shivering all over. Then I was forced to stretch my arms on a wall, with my head down. With my legs barely touching the ground, the inmates used their knees to strike my buttocks. They also filled up a water bottle and attached it to my penis with a string. Then they whipped the bottle around whichever way they wanted. Three or four inmates were surrounding me and didn’t allow me to sleep for four days. As soon as I dozed off, they slapped me in the face and used a rolled up piece of paper to poke at my nose and ears. It was so painful that I was in tears."
Another practitioner recalled his experience of being tortured in the Haidian Detention Center, "My face was beaten until it was distorted beyond recognition, with wounds covering its entirety. Anyone who saw my face at that time would have been horrified. My chest was also beaten so badly that I had difficulty breathing and could not stop coughing. Coughing caused me to double over in severe pain. To further torture Falun Gong practitioners, the Haidian District Detention Center created a device that had a sharp side pointing up regardless how it was placed on the ground. The sharp edge was about 4 centimeters (less than 0.39 inches) high. When I was forced to sit on this torture stool, the sharp edges cut into my flesh and hurt severely. This torture usually lasted 4 to 5 hours. There were also other torture methods such as forced squatting, forced standing, forced feeding, spinning practitioners around, pushing and shoving, brutal shaking, forced drug feeding, and other types of methods that I had never heard in society."
"The unknown drugs they force-fed me included yellow, white and
some colorless substances. The drugs were known to destroy peoples'
nervous systems and render people disabled or paralyzed. In the Haidian
Detention Center, the perpetrators held a cup of liquid drug and
ordered me to drink it. I tried to resist, but seven to eight
persecutors jumped on me and forced the drug into my mouth. They used a
metal instrument to force my mouth open and forced a cup of the drug
into my mouth."

I was detained in the Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp in Jilin Province, and I would like to write down my experiences there to expose the police's crimes.
There are seven teams at the Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp in Jilin Province, and over one thousand Falun Gong practitioners are detained in six of the seven teams and so-called "Group Training". I was detained at the seventh team. The police officer who was in charge of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners was called Li Shoufen. She routinely verbally abuses the practitioners and forces us to write "experiences" and "reports" based on their evil propaganda and lies. When we refuse, they then torture and physically abuse us, even the elderly practitioners. Falun Gong practitioners have to suffer through brainwashing and slave labor. In addition to beating the determined Falun Gong practitioners herself, Li Shoufen also incites former practitioners who went astray to do the same. Several of them watch one determined Falun Gong practitioner 24 hours a day to keep them from sleeping for several days at a time. The practitioners are given two small buns and a small amount of pickled vegetables daily. They are forced to listen to the twisted propaganda from the labor camp. This is so-called "working on your mind". If a practitioner does not give in, then she will be sent to the "Group Training" team.
In "Group Training", determined practitioners are put in the "small cell" and watched around the clock. They do not allow sleeping for long periods of time. The police use all kinds of torture methods to try to destroy the practitioners’ determination. They will receive a 500-Yuan bonus for every practitioner who gives up her belief.
Falun Gong practitioner Zhao Sumei was pushed to give up the practice by the fourth deputy team leader Zhang Guimei since day one, but Zhao Sumei has steadfastly refused. Zhang Guimei poured hot tea on her face and kicked her on the left side of her chest over ten times. On the same night, policemen handcuffed her to the bed, with both arms raised up high. She could not sleep all night.
At 1:30 pm on March 24, 2006, guard Wang Zhufeng called Yuan Sufang to the team leader’s office. The leader Zhang Guimei, Li Xiaohuan and guard Wang Zhufeng circled around Yuan Sufang. They cursed and beat her, and then dragged her into a small cell. Yuan's four limbs were fixed on the bed. Then, Wang Zhufeng and Zhang Guimei tortured her with electric needles, saying that they were trying to "cure" her. Guan Wei held her head down, and doctors Wei Yun and Dong Wei held her limbs down. Wang Zhufeng, Wei Yuan and inmates dragged her to the doctor’s office, her clothes torn as a result. Wang Zhufeng and Weiyuan took her clothes off and fixed her four limbs to the table and bed with belts and handcuffs. Dong Wei stuck over ten needles into her acupuncture points and then increased the voltage. Yuan Sumei's body and head started to shake violently, and she had intense pain in her ribs, as though they were being broken. She was foaming at the mouth. The pain was intense beyond description. Even today her right wrist still has the marks from the handcuffs. The muscles in her hands were twisted and disfigured. They tortured her four times this way.
After all the torture, Yuan Sufang's hands shook so badly that she could not work making feather butterflies. Seeing this, guard Wang Zhufeng dragged her off the bed and beat her again. Then Wang tied her up to the death bed. Yuan Sufang’s condition got to be so bad that she was released 4 days later. Her limbs lost feeling, and she could not take care of herself for three months. The muscles atrophied as a result.
At 1 p.m. on November 25, 2005, guard Wang Zhufeng called Yuan Sufang to the team leader’s office. Team leader Zhang Guimei forced her to write a report. Ms. Yuan said, "I did not do anything wrong, so I have nothing to report." Zhang Guimei beat her to the floor and sat on Ms. Yuan’s neck, one hand holding her head down and another hand covering her mouth. Then Zhang Guimei, Wang Zhufeng and Feng Xiaochun tied her to the death bed again. Ms. Yuan started a hunger strike to protest the persecution. In the early afternoon of November 29, Ms. Yuan started suffering from severe stomach pain. Guard Guan Wei then let her go back to her cell.
On December 13, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Wang Xuezhu did not submit a report on some political issues that she was forced to write. Feng Xiaochu slapped her in the face twice and shocked her neck and face with an electric baton, causing pain and swelling. Ms. Yuan asked Ms. Wang Xuezhu whether Wang suffered electric shock. Just because of that, Yuan was called to the director’s office the next day at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Guard Feng Xiaochu slapped her face three times. Guard Wang Zhufeng shocked her face, neck and hand using an electric baton. She was accused of "saying things she should not say and asking questions she should not ask." She was denied the right to buy food. Her term was extended by 45 days.
Falun Gong practitioner Wang Ting is a Ph.D. student from Changchun University of Technology. She was detained in the Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp in Jilin Province since December 12, 2005. She was directly sent to a small cell at the Fourth Team. Wang Ting was on hunger strike for two days to protest the persecution. On the third day, she was called to the director’s office. Guard Guan Wei asked her whether she would eat. She answered "No". Guan replied "You will be responsible for your words, then." Team leader Zhang Guimei, Guard Guan Wei, Wang Zhufeng took her back to the small cell. Zhang Guimei handcuffed her hands and legs on the beds, with the four limbs outstretched. She was asked again, but she answered that she would not eat. Zhang Guimei used the electric baton to shock her legs and then hands. Then they force-fed her. On the second day Wang Ting started to eat, but Zhang Guimei forced her to write the "five statements" [Separation, Repentance, Renunciation, and others to denounce Falun Gong]. She refused. Zhang Guimei ordered them to keep her tied up to the death bed. She had to urinate into a container on the bed. Sometimes she was not covered with anything. Ten days later she was released, but she could not work for over a month.
On January 29, 2006 Falun Gong practitioner Zhao Sumei voiced New Year's greetings to Teacher out loud while she was standing in line to wait for breakfast. Because of this, she was tied to a bed for six days by Guan Wei. Her left hand was cuffed to the bed frame, and she had to relieve herself on the bed.
From the beginning of April to April 11, Wei Yan forced Yang
Hongmei and Chang Suwen to take drugs to reduce their blood pressure, 6
to 9 pills each time. Ms. Yang and Ms. Chang became very weak and
bedridden because of the overdose.

Mr. Gu Jingshan, 63 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province. On April 18, 2004, he was arrested while posting up truth clarifying materials at Yishou Hill. The police went to his home afterwards and arrested his wife Liu Ronghua, and ransacked their home, taking all their materials.
Gu Jingshan was illegally imprisoned at the city detention center for five months, his body was seriously injured, and the symptoms of a stroke he had before reoccurred, severely limiting mobility in both of his legs.
On September 1, 2004, the Jianshan area court illegally held a trial for Gu Jingshan and sentenced him to three years in prison, and his spouse Liu Ronghua was sentenced to three years of custody outside of prison (this is after his family paid them 70,000 yuan). At the end of 2004, Gu Jingshan was sent to the Mudanjiang jail. Seeing that his condition was serious, the Mudanjiang jail refused to accept him, but only allowed him to stay for one night. During this time he was infected with scabies.
Under these circumstances and because of his family members'
efforts, Gu Jingshan was released. At this time, the scabies spread
over his whole body, oozing pus and dripping fluids, and the painful
itching made him extremely uncomfortable when he scratched them. For
this past year local police officers frequently went to his home to
harass and threaten him. Due to the pressure, Gu Jingshan's health
