As of July 20, 2006, Falun Gong has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist regime for seven years. On that day, the wall opposite to the Chinese Embassy in Prague was adorned with banners and display boards exposing the facts of the persecution. Falun Gong practitioners in the Czech Republic presented an open letter to the Chinese Ambassador to call on the Chinese Communist regime to put an end to the genocide against innocent citizens. In the evening, a candlelight vigil was held in condolence of their fellow practitioners who have been persecuted to death in mainland China. Some mass media came to cover the activities.

Candlelight vigil
Expose the Chinese Communist regime’s atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.
Under the scorching hot sun, a Falun Gong practitioner who was covered with a piece of white cloth was lying on an "operating table and a surgeon in sterilized gown and cap was "performing" an operation on her. Many passersby could not help coming over to see what was going on.
"I could hardly believe that human organs were harvested without their consent. How could this be happening?" said a French journalist who had taken photos of Falun Gong practitioners some five years ago.
An elderly woman said with emotion: "If those who harvested others’ organs had known that they’ve got to repay the karma they had made, they would not have done things like that."
After the fact that living Falun Gong practitioners’ organs were harvested in Sujiatun concentration camp was exposed by a witness in March 2006, the ex-wife of a Chinese surgeon who removed corneas from Falun Gong practitioners and a veteran military doctor from Shenyang Military Zone stepped forward to testify to the allegations. The veteran military doctor pointed out that there are at least thirty six such secret concentration camps throughout China, and the military is capable of relocating five thousand people in just one day using military train and closed freight cars.
On July 6, 2006, Mr. David Kilgour, former Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) for Canada and renowned Canadian human rights lawyer David Matas released a report of their investigation into the allegation that the Chinese Communist regime harvested living Falun Gong practitioners’ organs.
<>The report stated that since Falun Gong was persecuted, the number of China’s organ transplant centers and the hospitals performing organ transplants increased from forty to five hundred and the average waiting time for an organ supply in China ranges from one week to two months, while it takes several years in other countries, and that the sources of 41,500 transplants for the six year period between 2000 to 2005 are unexplained. The report stated: "The allegations here are so shocking that they are almost impossible to believe. The allegations, if true, would represent a grotesque form of evil which, despite all the deprivations humanity has seen, would be new to this planet."
The report went on to say: "Based on what we now know, we have come to the regrettable conclusion that the allegations are true. We believe that there has been and continues today to be large scale organ seizures from unwilling Falun Gong practitioners." (for full report, see http://investigation.go.saveinter.net/)
Letter to the Chinese Embassy: The Persecution is a Calamity for All Chinese People
At the press conference beginning at 11 a.m., two practitioners read an open letter to newly appointed Chinese Ambassador Huo Yuzhen and other staff members of the Embassy in Czech and Chinese respectively to call on the Chinese regime to stop persecuting Falun Gong immediately.
The letter said: "According to the minghui.ca website, as of July 19, 2006, the highest number of death cases have appeared in Heilongjiang Province, Hebei Province, Liaoning Province, Jilin Province, Shandong Province, Sichuan Province, and Hubei Province. Among the 2,924 practitioners who were confirmed dead through civilian channels, females accounted for 54.45 percent, while those who were above fifty years old made up 57.05 percent."
"As early as December 2001, China’s internal statistics showed that among the arrested Falun Gong practitioners, as many as 1,600 have died, and the number of the practitioners being illegally sent to forced labor camps was over 100,000.
"According to a statement issued by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) on March 20 2003, the Chinese regime has spent one quarter of the country's financial resources to persecute Falun Gong. This funding comes from Chinese people's money that was earned with sweat and blood through hard labor, tax revenue, foreign investments as well as the illegal fines forcibly imposed upon Falun Gong practitioners and their family members. A great deal of funding has been allocated to apprehend and persecute Falun Gong practitioners in China as well as establish and maintain "610 Offices" and brainwashing centers across the nation. All the mass media have been mobilized nationwide to fabricate lies to defame Falun Gong. This has caused tremendous pressure on the livelihoods of people throughout China and brought grave consequences to the nation's economy."
When the practitioners went to the Embassy to deliver the letter, no one responded to them.
Media Focus on the Anti-Persecution Activity
After listening to Falun Gong practitioners’ open letter to the Chinese Embassy at the press conference, journalists from the Czech News Agency, Regina Radio Station and the Prague Post interviewed the practitioners. The inquiries raised by these journalists were as follows:
"What about the anti-persecution activities held by Falun Gong practitioners in Czech?"
"Have you made any progress? Did the Czech Parliament include this serious persecution of human rights into their agenda?"
"Why were the anti-persecution activities held worldwide on July 20th?"
Candlelight Vigil
When night was falling, Falun Gong practitioners lighted candles together to commemorate their fellow practitioners who have been persecuted to death in China. One practitioner told many passers-by:
"The Chinese Communist regime has persecuted Falun Gong with
cruel torture and violence for seven years. Falun Gong practitioners
have demonstrated their great tolerance and compassion with their
action. They are defending the principles and truth of the world. They
have made it through by clarifying the truth continuously. History has
proven that truth will eventually be upheld in the human world. The
lies fabricated by the Chinese Communist regime and the fallout that
ensued will vanish after people realize the truth of Falun Gong. We
gather together today to commemorate our fellow practitioners who have
been killed in the persecution."
