The Deyang Prison is located in Huangxu Town, Deyang City, Sichuan Province. I witnessed the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) crimes against Falun Gong practitioners there.
<>When I was sent to the prison, I stayed with the "training unit" of the Second District. There, I met a dozen Falun Gong practitioners. Among them, three were graduate students from universities, and one was an attorney who made the judge speechless during the court hearing. Falun Gong practitioners were singled out to be individually monitored by several inmates. They were not allowed to talk to others, especially amongst themselves. If they did, they would face various punishments. After the "training," I was sent to the Fourth District of the prison. The Fourth District had five Falun Gong practitioners. They were honest, kind and tolerant of others. They never cared how much they got from others. Many people said, "How come these good people are put into the prison? The CCP is really blind."
There were a couple of times where I was able to talk to the Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioner Mr. Cao Junjian told inmates about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong on many occasions, and thus was put into solitary confinement several times. After I listened to him, I had a dream that night. In it, I saw that I was saved just when I was about to drown. I knew that Falun Gong practitioners were saving people, including me.
In early 2001, when the staged Tiananmen self-immolation occurred, the prison forced all inmates to watch the self-immolation video program repeatedly. Later, a Falun Gong practitioner explained to me the facts of the case. I then realized the viciousness of the CCP, including fabricating events to deceive people, encouraging people to fight against others, slandering Falun Gong, creating hatred against Falun Gong, and using all of that to justify the persecution of Falun Gong. During the forced "transformation" period, the wardens ordered many inmates to beat Falun Gong practitioners. The section chief, Rong Feng of the Fourth District, said at the inmates meeting, "If you don't sign the 'transformation' statement, I will let you walk in but be carried out."
The next afternoon, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cao Junjian was first called to the factory room by Warden Wang Zhiguang. Mr. Cao Junjian refused to sign the guarantee statement and was beaten by Wang Zhiguang and section chief Liu. We saw inmates carrying him out to a confined area, where several inmates monitored him around the clock.
That evening, for each Falun Gong practitioner, the district arranged several inmates to forcibly "transform" them. Practitioner and teacher Mr. Jiang Hong from Shuangliu County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province lost consciousness after being beaten by inmates under the order of Warden Wang Zhiguang. That evening, the screams of pain could be heard down the hall.
At the same time, the Second, Fifth and Sixth Districts also used violence to "transform" Falun Gong practitioners. The inmates said that many Falun Gong practitioners had been disfigured by the beatings. Under the orders of warden Li Weidong of the Sixth District, the inmates beat the practitioners and did not allow them to call out. They fiercely beat the practitioners, punching their throats and stomachs so that they were not able to yell.
Because of their "achievements" of forced "transformation," Ma Aijun, the head prison warden, the deputy head warden Shi, who was in charge of Falun Gong practitioners, and head wardens and section chiefs of the Second, Fifth and Sixth Districts were all given merit citations class II by the Sichuan Province government. Warden Wang Zhiguang and Section Chief Liu from the Fourth District were also given merit citations class II.
Later, more Falun Gong practitioners were put into the prison. Several practitioners were sentenced to over ten years in prison for merely distributing truth-clarifying fliers. The longest term was eighteen years in prison. Practitioners who refused to be "transformed" or awakened after being "transformed" were put into a "special district." That district was managed by the Prison Political Section. Every practitioner was monitored and persecuted by two inmates there. Falun Gong practitioners were beaten and tortured viciously. These tortures included being forced to stand for days, doing intensive labor and drills, going to drills during the day and facing the wall at night, being denied visits from their family members, and being forced to watch videos or read books that slander Falun Gong, etc.
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jiang Heping was the most steadfast in the prison. He refused to yield, even while being tortured to near death. Practitioner Mr. Wang Xiaosong was also tortured to near death because he refused to be "transformed."
A practitioner was beaten to death in the Second District. Other practitioners held hunger strikes to protest these vicious tortures upon hearing about them. Many inmates praised Falun Gong practitioners privately, saying that no one is stronger than them. Inmates called the wardens the "villains with official badges."
Practitioner Mr. Cao Ping, who was held in the Sixth District, was said to be from Linshui County, Sichuan Province. Before he was sent to the prison, the local police beat him and broke the bones in his arms and feet. They did not give him any medical treatment, and the broken bones remained in their poor condition. Mr. Cao Ping was tortured many times at the prison as well. Soon, his condition was critical. Since the prison was afraid of being held responsible for his death, they released him. We heard that Mr. Cao Ping died at his home shortly after.
After I came out of the prison, the torture of Falun Gong
practitioners
continued and became even worse at the Deyang Prison. I was fortunate
to read
the Nine
Commentaries on the Communist Party on the
web. It helped me understand the evil nature of the CCP and appreciate
the
wonderfulness of cultivating "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance"
in Falun Gong. Now I have quit the Young Pioneers and wrote about what
I
witnessed at the prison, hoping that this will alert those people who
are still
fooled by the CCP. I hope more people can read the Nine Commentaries
so
that they can quit the CCP and have a good future.

My name is Jin Xiulan. I am 55 years old, and a farmer living in Ruiling Village, Xiaojin Town, Xifeng District, Qingyang Prefecture, Gansu Province. I was lucky enough to begin practicing Falun Gong in December 1998.
In April 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and was detained for one month in the Xifeng District Detention Center. Because I refused to give up Falun Gong practice, I was transferred to the Xifeng District Drug Rehabilitation Center for fifteen days. In the end, I refused to write the three statements to renounce Falun Gong. Before I was released, I had 1,350 yuan extorted from me.
On July 15, 2000, Xiaojin town held a fifteen day brainwashing session for all Falun Gong practitioners. More than ten practitioners were forced to attend, including me.
In November 2000, Xifeng District State Security agents ransacked my home. They did not find anything, but they nonetheless brutally beat me. They detained me in the Xifeng District Detention Center for one month with the excuse of having me write an "appeal letter" to the police.
In January 2001, I went to Beijing a second time to appeal. I was arrested in front of Tiananmen Square and held in a detention center in Beijing. I refused to give them my name, so I was transferred to the Nanjie Prison in Tianjin City. I went on hunger strike for fifteen days and was force-fed. I was also tortured by being hung up by my handcuffs, having cold water poured on my body, being shocked by electric batons, and being subjected to sleep deprivation. I was later detained in the Xifeng District Detention Center for one month, and then detained in the Xifeng District Drug Rehabilitation Center for fifteen days.
Because I went to Beijing twice, I was sentenced to one year of forced labor. I served this sentence in the Second Group, Seventh Women's Ward of the Gansu Province First Labor Camp located in Pingantai, Lanzhou City. Because I did not accept the brainwashing within three months, I was tortured with techniques such as being hung up backwards by handcuffs for five to six hours each time (the longest was ten hours). After each hanging, guards would order drug addict prisoners to take me down and punch me in the lower back, causing great pain. I was also frequently shocked with electric batons on my sensitive body parts, not allowed to sleep, forced to kneel down, given brutal beatings that made my face swollen (then revived with a drenching of cold water if I passed out), and made to do heavy farming labor among other things.
In the past several years of persecution, I was forced to endure
brainwashing, detained four times, and I spent one year in a forced
labor camp.
I had my home ransacked numerous times, have been constantly harassed,
and have
had 1,350 yuan extorted from me.

On July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Jiang Zemin's regime initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. However, despite the intense fabrications of lies and deceit, many clear-headed people did not believe and were not fooled by the Chinese Communist regime. Mr. Sun Kelin from Renzhao Town, Pingdu City, Shandong Province was one such person. He felt that since there were so many people practicing Falun Gong, it must be really good and he looked at Falun Gong with an open mind. He discovered a copy of the book Zhuan Falun and after reading it through, he wanted to learn Falun Gong. Through reading Zhuan Falun and practicing the Falun Gong exercises, Mr. Sun's body was freed of all illnesses within a short period of time. Moreover, he also began clarifying the truth about the beauty of Falun Gong, persuading people not to believe the lies spread by the Communist regime.
On July 20, 2001, he and some other practitioners traveled to Beijing to seek justice for Falun Gong. In Tiananmen Square, after the flag raising ceremony, he held up a banner proclaiming "Falun Dafa is Good" and shouted "Falun Dafa is good." He was soon surrounded by many police officers, but continued holding his banner aloft and shouting. After chasing him for quite some time, the police still could not capture him and resorted to shouting, "Catch the thief!" Passersby who understood the truth did not listen to them. Finally, after much effort, they managed to pin him down. He was then dragged into a police car by his hair. He was subsequently detained at a Tiananmen police substation. As he did not reveal his name or address during his detention, a young policeman brutally kicked his chest and beat him to the ground before kicking him in the head. Finally, by listening to the accent of the practitioner who was caught with him and finding an address in a small booklet, the police decided to send him to Qingdao City Police Department. Even so, Mr. Sun still refused to reveal his name and address, so he was hung up with his toes touching the ground and having a police officer stomp on them, and he had his forehead and ribs struck repeatedly with leather boots. After seeing him remain adamant, one police officer slashed his rib cage with metal tongs.
Two or three days later, he and a fellow practitioner were transferred to Pingdu City. When they passed Jinan City, although they were handcuffed together, they escaped. While Mr. Sun Kelin was using a public phone, an old man who did not understand the truth about Falun Gong reported him to the authorities. Even after clarifying the truth to him, telling him not to believe the lies of the Communist regime and choose a good future for himself, the old man still refused to listen. As a result, Mr. Sun Kelin was detained in Pingdu Detention Center. During his detention, officers from Renzhao Police Station illegally barged into his house and took away his television. His wife tried to stop them and was badly beaten. There was also a policeman from the Pingdu Detention Center, around fifty years of age surnamed Yin, who went to Mr. Sun's house and tried to blackmail his wife out of a few thousand yuan. Fortunately, he did not succeeded in extorting any money from her.
In the detention center, Mr. Sun fell down and was injured. His skull was fractured. He woke up three days later in a hospital bed in the Pingdu Chinese Hospital. A kind person came over to tell him that the doctor thought that he was dying and nothing could save him. Even after suffering such a horrifying predicament, a police officer started to beat him while his hands and feet were still cuffed to the hospital bed.
When he was being held in the detention center, he was forced to do manual labor for long hours. Sometimes, he was also not allowed to sleep and had to suffer torture at the hands of police there. They also forced him to get money from his home and hand it over to them.
A few months later, he and another practitioner were illegally sentenced to four years in jail by the Pingdu Court. He was subsequently sent to Weibei Prison for one year. During that one year serving his illegal jail term, he was physically devastated and became extremely weak. His whole body was in pain and he could not sit still or lie down. It was only after a whole year that his body recovered slightly, and it took him fours years to fully recover.
After his release, the Communist regime still refused to leave him
alone.
They constantly sent police to harass him.

Practitioner Ms. Hu Keling is a teacher at the Experimental High School of Laixi City. She was reported for telling her students about the persecution of Falun Gong. Just before New Year's Day of 2006, she was arrested by the Qingdaolu Police Branch of Laixi City and detained at the Laixi Detention Center. She was later released, but then arrested twice more. The principal of the high school refused to pay Ms. Hu's salary, and the police officers who arrested her fined her to pay for their transportation. Details of her three arrests are as follows.
On December 31, 2005, Ms. Hu Keling was arrested by police officers from the Qingdaolu Police Branch of Laixi City. To protest the unlawful detention, Hu went on a hunger strike for a week and was then permitted to return home.
On January 21, 2006, while Ms. Hu was distributing exam papers to students, she was taken away by the Qingdaolu Police Branch of Laixi City and transported to Qingdao City. The police officers were planning to send her to a forced labor camp, but she managed to return home the same day. After the winter holiday, officials at the school at which Ms. Hu works stopped paying her salary and said that they would only pay her a monthly allowance of 380 yuan. However, even that amount has not been paid.
On the afternoon of July 13, 2006, when she was distributing textbooks to students, Ms. Hu was arrested for a third time by police officers from Laixi and detained at Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao. Ms. Hu went on a hunger strike for over 10 days, and she became very weak.
On July 24, the police officers took Ms. Hu to the Experimental High School of Laixi City from Dashan Detention Center and detained her there. Her family members were brought by the police to ask her to eat some food so that the police could persecute her further when she recovered. They were planning to sentence her to imprisonment.
Before she was transported to the high school, the perpetrators welded iron rods on the rear window of the room in which Ms. Hu would be detained to prevent her from running away. The electric heater fell onto Ms. Hu's covers and clothes, burning them. After Ms. Hu arrived at the school, the police officers guarded the door and would not allow her to leave to buy clothes. Her family members had to report to the school, and three school teachers were each asked to bring a blanket to Ms. Hu.
On the night of July 26, Ms. Hu managed to escape. However, since then she has had to lead a homeless life.
When the summer holiday was over, Ms. Hu's family members went to the school and asked for the key to her room to collect her belongings. They found the door unlocked, the windows opened widely, and everything in the room scattered on the floor. An old desk and the three blankets were taken away by the authorities. The few items that the family members had prepared for Ms. Hu were also on the floor.
One of Ms. Hu's family members asked the school principal what he
was going
to do about the burned personal items and Ms. Hu's salary. The
principal
replied, "Everything needs to be dealt with when Ms. Hu Keling is back.
No
one else can do that for her." The family member asked, "What about
her salary for the past several months? Can her daughter come sign for
her and
take it home?" The principal answered, "Her salary is not enough to
pay for the transportation and meals for the police officers who came
to arrest
and watch her. Her allowance is 380 yuan per month; the total for the
several
months is around 1,000 yuan, so our school had to supplement the rest.
Everything has to wait until she comes back."

[Note: The following is a shortened version of a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui.org website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net).]
On the afternoon of May 25, 2006, 72-year-old practitioner Ms. Liu Runzhen was working at a sales stand on the side of the road in Chunan Township, Linyi City, Shandong Province. At around 6 o'clock in the evening, a vehicle approached her stand. Several agents from the Chunan Township 610 Office and police officers from the East Chunan Township Police Station jumped out of the vehicle and arrested her. They took her to the East Chunan Township Police Station. Immediately after the arrest, they ransacked her home and extorted 5,000 yuan from her family. Ms. Liu's daughter Lu Chunmei tried her best to come up with the 5,000 yuan. She even had to sell her motorcycle, which was bought for over 7,000 yuan, for 1,800 yuan to pay for the luxurious meal demanded by the police. After the extortion, the 610 Office and the East Township Police Station released Ms. Liu on bail for medical treatment.
After a few days, the authorities summoned Ms. Liu's daughter Lu Chunmei and tried to extort more money from her. When they realized that Ms. Lu Chunmei had no more money, they confiscated her bank book to withdraw her monthly salary directly. Her bank book is still in the hands of the authorities and they plan to hold it until they withdraw the amount they demanded. Ms. Lu's family depends on her monthly salary for everyday life necessities. Confiscating her bank book has cut off her family's sole source of income.
