  • The Persecution against the Disabled Mr. Wang Guangqi by CCP in Taoxu Town, Mengyin County, Shandong Province

Mr. Wang Guangqi, 55 years old, lived in Jiuquanyu Village, Taoxu Town, Mengyin County, Shandong Province. In the past, he was disabled and could not take care of himself. After he started practicing Falun Gong, his health improved immensely. He was able to stand up, walk around, and even do some light chores.

On January 19, 2000, Mr. Wang Guangqi was arrested and taken to the township's finance station and tortured there by CCP officials from Taoxu Town just because he participated in the collective signature to appeal for Falun Gong. On the night of March 6, 2000, Mo Guangli (male), Bao Xitang (male), Qin Zhicheng (male), Lai Xianlu (male), and twenty or thirty others from the town government beat Mr. Wang Guangqi so brutally that he was covered with bumps and bruises. He could not move for weeks from the pain.

In 2002, to seek justice for Falun Gong, Mr. Wang Guangqi went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested on Tienanmen Square. Later, Li Changxiang (male), the deputy head of the local police station, Shi Yunduan (male), the head of the 610 Office of the town, and Fang Guoming (male), the party secretary of his village, took him back from Beijing. On the way back, Shi Yunduan said, "We will spend 5,000 yuan to hire a gangster to kill you. You will disappear, and nobody will know who did it."

After arriving at the police station, policeman Diao Chuanjun handcuffed Mr. Wang facing the wall. One policeman said behind him, "Have you finished digging the hole?" Another person replied that the hole was over three feet deep now. They had planned to bury Wang Guangqi alive on Meng Mountain. However, afraid that their plan had been discovered, they transferred Mr. Wang Guangqi to the town government and detained him there for seven days before releasing him. Back at Wang Guangqi's house, Shi Yundaun, policemen Wang Zhaoxiang and Li Xiangyan, and Fang Guoming destroyed everything they could find. By the time they were done, nothing was salvageable. Wang Guangqi had been unable to care for himself for over twenty years because of his disability, and he now had to go live with his oldest brother, who was paralyzed when he was very young and lives in a house made of four stone walls with a plastic cover over the top. All the two had to share were straw on the floor used as a mattress, a very old worn-out blanket used to cover them at night, and an old broken bowl.

Shi Yunduan and Fang Guoming directed people to block the windows and door of this structure , and Fang Guoming sent people to watch so that Mr. Wang Guangqi did not leave and that no one brought him food or water. At this point, Wang Guangqi was unable to stand up anymore from the abuse sustained from the police. Every day Fang Guoming broadcast via a speaker system to the villagers that whoever sends food or water to Mr. Wang Guangqi will get punished. Later, Mr. Wang Guangqi said that he did not know who the kind person was who left pancakes and water out for him and his brother, but it enabled them to survive the twenty days of torment.

Fang Guoming also confiscated Mr. Wang Guangqi's land that he used to grow his own food. His chestnut orchard, which was worth 15,000 yuan, was sold off. Mr. Wang Guangqi lost everything and had to beg for food to save his brother's life. During this time, he received a lot of help from the other villagers. Even now, Wang Guangqi still doesn't have any farmland to sustain himself. Mr. Wang Guangqi's second oldest brother exposed the deeds of Li Zhengguo and Wang Zhaoxiang from the 610 Office. As a result he was beaten, choked until he lost consciousness, and fined 2,000 yuan.

Mr. Zhang Guoyu from Liaoning Province Illegally Detained in Labor Camp, His Family Not Allowed to Appeal

Zhang Guoyu, a Falun Gong practitioner in Dalian City, Liaoning province, was illegally arrested at work by policemen on September 12, 2006. The CCP governors then denied Zhang's family the right to appeal against the detention in the labor camp.

Recently, Zhang Guoyu has been shifted to the 2nd Squadron of the 8th Group of in Dalian Forced Labor Camp. While on a huger strike to protest against the persecution, he was tortured with forced feeding that left a tube in his stomach, and Zhang Guoyu was still being strictly locked up.

On February 8, 2007, Zhang Guoyu authorized his family to appeal against his arrest and detention at the local court. During their preparation of all the documentation required for setting up a formal appeal, the court judge, Li Heng, directed the administration officers to close this specific case with the stipulation that the explanation for disqualification would come later.

When Mr. Zhang's family was questioned about the reason for the disqualification, their reply was, "No reason". When the court documents were requested, the reply they got was that there were none as it was an order from the superior, whom they were asked to see for further help but without any further information being given.

The regulations officially state that one can appeal again within three months if one do not accept the court's sentence. Mr. Zhang's family followed the regulation to appeal but found out that the case had been closed to further appeal by the CCP governors without any legal explanation because it's related to Falun Gong. By looking at this circumstance, it would clearly indicate that Zhang Guoyu's human rights were violated as his right to appeal had been taken away for no reason. This reflects the extreme nature of the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong in China, that covering up illegal activity is no longer considered necessary.

Persecution Destroys the Family of Mr. Zhao Yiwen from Heilongjiang Province

Mr. Zhao Yiwen, from Bamiantong, Heilongjiang Province, worked as an art teacher. Mr. Zhao had been disabled before he practiced Falun Gong. After he began studying Falun Gong and doing the five exercises, he regained his health and went back to work. The Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of Falun Gong later destroyed his family. His son, Zhao Yuzhi, was in middle school and could not endure the repeated harassment by the police: Yuzhi committed suicide.

His son was only about seven years old when Zhao suddenly became too ill to work due to problems with his spine. This left his family with financial difficulties. In 1995, Zhao started practicing Falun Gong and his herniated discs magically healed. Zhao no longer needed to use a cane. Zhao's son Yuzhi became very excited and often went with his father to do the Falun Gong exercises and to read Falun Gong books.

In July 1999, the CCP started the persecution against Falun Gong. Zhao validated Falun Gong by telling people about his experiences and by clarifying the truth about the persecution. In fall of 2000, while Mr. Zhao was in Bamiantong, Heilongjiang Province making truth-clarification materials, Yilin Police Station arrested him, but he escaped and went to stay with his mother in Jixi City.

During the end of 2000, Tan Zhenguo, an officer from Xiangdong Police Station of Muling Minet in Jixi City, broke into Mr. Zhao's mother's house with seven other people and attempted to arrest Mr. Zhao. He was not there at the time.

On January 23, 2001, three officers from the Xiangdong Police Station again broke into Mr. Zhao's mother's house looking for him. Again, he was not there. On January 30 and 31, the same officers went back twice more asking for him. These people continued to go to Mr. Zhao's mother's house to harass the family. One day in July 2001, someone reported to the police that Mr. Zhao's wife and son were now living with Zhao's mother. Tan Zhenguo and three other officers from the Xiangdong Police Station of the Muling Mine went to arrest them, but did not succeed.

In August 2001, the Xiangdong Police Station arrested Mr. Zhao's wife, Ms. Sun Chunzhi (not a practitioner), for "hiding criminals." The police handcuffed Chunzhi to a pipe and tried to coerce her into informing on her husband’s whereabouts. Chunzhi was illegally detained for a day, and Mr. Zhao's mother had to pay 500 yuan for her release. Mr. Zhao then had to leave his family.

In February 2004, Zhao's parents asked Sun Chunzhi to look for Zhao Yiwen, and she did. Since then, Mr. Zhao and his wife could no longer stay with the other family members.

Mr. Zhao's parents and his son, Zhao Yuzhi, were harassed by the police over and over again and suffered very much. Pressure from society and his school and the loss of his parents created tremendous psychological and emotional trauma for Yuzhi. Zhao Yuzhi nearly had a mental breakdown. For him, the world was full of terror, and he lost his faith. On September 20, 2004, Zhao Yuzhi hung himself. Zhao Yuzhi's grandparents could not bear the grief and sorrow of losing their grandson and being separated from their son and became very ill. A fine family was destroyed because of the CCP's persecution.

Six Falun Gong Practitioners Abducted by Harbin City Police

Six Falun Gong practitioners from Shuangcheng City were abducted by police from Xinnong Town Police Station in Harbin City.

At noon on January 23, Shuangcheng Falun Gong practitioners Zhang Fengrong (male, 50s), Xue Ruihui (male, 50s), Jiang Yahong (female, 30s) and Miao Xiubo (female, 30s) were out walking, when a police vehicle approached them. They tried to avoid it, but the vehicle stopped in front of them and blocked their path. Liu Zhaoping and two other policemen got out of the car. Without showing any IDs or documentation, they pushed and dragged the practitioners into a grocery store nearby. The police then called somebody and said, "We have captured another four Falun Gong practitioners." The practitioners then asked, "Why are you arresting us?" The police felt guilty and denied it, "We did not arrest you."

More people gathered around them and started talking about the incident. The police were afraid, so they asked more police to come and quickly took the practitioners to Xinnong Town Police Station.

According to witnesses, the police beat the practitioners, searched their bodies and stole a watch from a female practitioner. On the following day, the police extorted 450 yuan from the families of each practitioner. On the fourth day, the police again, without showing any documentation, ransacked the practitioners' houses. This time, they abducted Dong Liantai (male, 40s) and Tian Hua (male, 40s).

Their families requested that the practitioners be returned after learning the news of their illegal arrest. The police station then sent them to another district police station. The district police station did not give any reason and drove the families away. After much searching, they found out where the practitioners were. The six practitioners were actually detained in the Guxiang First Detention Center of Harbin City.
