Masanjia Labor Camp Guards Force Falun Gong Practitioners to Sign Evaluation Sheet by Tortures

On October 6, 2008, guards at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang tried to force Falun Gong practitioners confined in the 1st Ward to sign a Labor Evaluation Sheet. When practitioners refused to sign, they were severely tortured. They were no longer able to walk upright afterward. The guards pushed practitioners' heads under a bed and handcuffed them. Ms. Wang Chunying and Ms. Wang Haiying were handcuffed like that for three days and nights. Another practitioner was handcuffed for five days. She is now absent-minded and doesn't remember anything.

Yang Jian, the head of the Women's Division of Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, and Ms. Zhou directed this torture in person. Two male guards were specially transferred from the Headquarters of Masanjia Labor Camp to help carry out the torture.

Practitioners in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp are forced to sign the monthly Labor Evaluation Sheet. If anyone refuses to sign, the guards beat and torture her. In November 2007, when practitioner Ms. Wang Chunying refused to sign, guards Zhang Chunguang, Zhou Qian, Zhai Yaohui, Chen Qiumei, Li Mingyu, and others tortured her with the "Big Hang Up"(1) for as long as 16 hours. At the end of March, two guards, Chen Qiumei and Wang Guangyun, ordered two prisoners to hold down Ms. Wang Chunying's arms and force her to sign. They tried two pens and didn't succeed. Ms. Wang tightly closed her fist and clarified the truth to them and told them that they were committing a crime. She shouted, "Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!" Her fists stayed tightly closed the whole time. The guards had to fake her signature.

On April 30, 2008, the labor camp again changed the location where the evaluation sheet is signed. It is now done in the division head's office and duty office. A big electric baton is placed on the desk. If verbal threats don't work, they use torture, then hold the practitioner's fingers to sign. If the practitioner doesn't cooperate, they beat her. Practitioner Ms. Teng Shiyun was taken to the division head's office. Guards Li Mingyu, Gao Yuan, clerk Qu Yanhui, Li Shuling, and Zhang Chunguang closed in and started beating her. Then they forced her hand down to fix her fingerprint on the evaluation sheet.

(1) The "Big Hang Up" - There are two forms of this torture: (a) Handcuffed behind the back and only the toes touching the ground, the victim is hung by a rope that is tied to a window frame; (b) One of the practitioner's hands is cuffed to one bunk bed and the other hand to another bed.
