Ms. Gao Guofeng has been
imprisoned in Qianjin Forced Labor Camp since September 27, 2007. She suffered
various kinds of tortures by guards and inmates.
In the notorious Masanjia Force Labor Camp, Mr. Chen Kaiqu's and Mr. Liu Qing's faces were disfigured from electric baton shock by guards, because they refused to do slavery labor.
Ms. Gao Guofeng, 53, a resident in Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province, was arrested on September 27, 2007, and held at the 2nd Group of Qianjin Forced Labor Camp.
On September 29, 2007, during the CCP's "October 1" National Day, Ms. Gao seized a microphone and called out, "Falun Dafa is good," so she was locked in a a metal cage, where she suffered inhuman torture. This information was disclosed to the public through the Internet. While held in the small cell (1), Ms. Gao was given only a small bowl of rice soup every meal. Ms. Gao also witnessed female guard Zhao Yingfan put an unknown drug in the soup.
On March 3, 2008, prisoners of the labor camp were forced to watch a live broadcast of the CCP's two conferences. Ms. Gao's feet hurt because of the torture she received while she was locked in the small cell, so she put her feet over a small bench. Female guard Xie Chunyan noticed this and ordered Ms. Gao to move. Because Ms. Gao did not cooperate, Xie Chunyan reported it to group leader Huo Shuping. Xie Chunyan always treats practitioners viciously, such as pulling Ms. Gao's breasts and poking other practitioners in their eyes. As a result, Ms. Gao was brutally beaten, handcuffed and deprived of sleep. Since March 11, 2008, Huo Shuping has withheld full meals from Ms. Gao.
On March 3, 2008, the director of the monitoring team, Huo Shuping, and guard Xie Chunyan deprived Ms. Gao of sleep. She was shackled in handcuffs starting at 10:00 a.m. in the morning and she was forced to wear them through the night.
On March 4, 2008, when female guard Wang Xiaowei was in charge of "education," Ms. Gao refused to give up her belief. Wang Xiaowei handcuffed Ms. Gao to the end of the bed and others were required to watch her to make sure she did not sleep. Ms. Gao was uncooperative and slept on the floor. When Ms. Gao was discovered by Sun Xiaojun, the male night shift patrol, she sat up and clarified the truth to him while he remained silent. Later, Ms. Gao was repeatedly kicked by Wang Xiaowei.
On March 5, 2008, Huo Shuping bound Ms. Gao in handcuffs and deprived her of sleep for 24 hours.
On March 6, 2008, Ms. Gao clarified the truth to team leader Zhang Aihui and guard Li Peihuan. She disclosed the brutal mistreatment she had been subjected to. That night, Zhang Aihui took Ms. Gao to a hallway, where she was bound in handcuffs until 12:00 a.m. She was allowed to sleep on a sofa but was not allowed to use a blanket. In the morning she got up. Criminal inmate Li Yingjie reported some issues to the guard, and then Ms. Gao was hit in the face by Li Peihuan and locked in the bathroom.
During the day on March 7, 2008, Ms. Gao was monitored by criminal inmates. That night she went to bed and was in so much pain that she moaned continuously.
During the day on March 8, 2008, she was brutally beaten by Warden Wang Xiaowei and guard, Zhou Yingfan. Her face was beaten until it was black and blue and her mouth was injured. She was not allowed to rest until that night.
During the day on March 9, 2008, Ms. Gao was monitored by criminal inmate Liang Xiao (female). When she went upstairs that night to rest, female guard Zhang Aihui forced Ms. Gao to sit on a little bench in the hallway because she did not say "Report" when she entered the guards' office. Ms. Gao clarified the truth to her but Zhang Aihui did not listen. Instead, she ordered Liang Xiao to tape Ms. Gao's mouth shut.
On March 10, 2008, criminal inmate Li Yingjie, female, who watched Ms. Gao during the day, demanded money from Ms. Gao. Ms. Gao did not give her any. Li reported to Huo that Ms. Gao was doing the exercises. Huo said that Ms. Gao would not be allowed to eat. That night, Ms. Gao was locked to the end of a bed and was not allowed to sleep.
On March 11, 2008, during breakfast, Huo order that Ms. Gao was not to be fed. Ms. Gao was given only a small bowl of corn soup and half a steamed bun for lunch and supper. She was not allowed to sleep until midnight. On March 12, 2008, she was given a meal consisting of half a steamed bun and was deprived of sleep until midnight. On March 13, 2008, when Ms. Gao got up, she refused to wear the ward issued clothes. Wang Xiaowei and Zhou Yingfan ordered Li Yingjie to lock Ms. Gao to the underside of the upper bunk bed with handcuffs, which meant she had to remain standing. Wang Xiaowei prohibited Ms. Gao form having preserved vegetables with her breakfast.
On March 13, 2008, Ms. Gao was taken to a storeroom downstairs. During the day, she was hung up by her handcuffs. When the guards got off work at around 1:30 a.m., they they heard Ms. Gao call out "Falun Dafa is good" from behind the door. Guard Sha Yujin and criminal inmate Liang Xiao kicked Ms. Gao in the abdomen. She was not allowed to go to bed until the wee hours of the morning.
Note:
(1) The detainee is locked up in a very small cell. The guards handcuff practitioners behind their backs in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and there is no light. Detainees have to used a bucket in the cell as a toilet. Meal portions are halved during the daytime. The cells are often infested with rats and the stench is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.
On the morning of March 25, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chen refused to do slavery labor at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, therefore guard Li Meng (ID 2108216) proceeded to shock Mr. Chen's face and neck with electric batons for an extended period of time. With his face was covered with blisters and burns, he was disfigured to the extent that even those who knew him could not recognize him.
Mr. Chen Kaiqu, born in 1976, was a resident of Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. On July 14, 2006, Chen Kaiqu was reported to the authorities while he was distributing truth-clarification materials on the campus of Zhongyang School of Financial Studies. He was arrested and taken to Dazhongshi Police Station in Haidian District, Beijing. The next day, he was incarcerated in Haidian Police Branch's Detention Center. On November 30, 2006, he was taken to the Forced Labor Dispatch Division in Beijing for a two-year term. On May 21, 2007, he was transferred to the 2nd Group of the 1st Branch of Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
In order to cover up their crimes, Masanjia Forced Labor Camp authorities have tried to prevent people from learning the facts, so they have forbidden detained practitioners from meeting with visitors.
On February 20, 2008, the guards from the 2nd Group tried to make practitioners Liu Qing, Han Ximin, and Gao Yuling to do slavery labor, but the three refused. In reprisal, the guards carried out torture that lasted more than an hour on the practitioners. They shocked them repeatedly with electric batons. Liu Qing was so badly injured that his lips became very swollen. His whole face was disfigured and he even had difficulty speaking. Even those who used to know him well had difficulty recognizing him. To this day, he still has not recovered.
On the same afternoon, Team Leader Wang Yanming brought Liu Qing into the guards' office. In the office were the 2nd Group Leader Gao Zhongzhi, Guard Group Leader Pan Hongzhou, Guards Yu and Li Zhen, the 3rd Team Leader Li Meng, Squadron Leader Chen, the Sewing Team guard Yang, and others. Fang Hongzhou told Li Zhen to handcuff Mr. Liu Qing's hands behind his back and use three electric batons to shock him on his head and body. When Mr. Liu shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" they held his arms down and began to shock his mouth and face with the electric batons. He continued to shout "Falun Dafa is good!" Policeman Fan Hongzhou then stuffed a plastic bag into Liu Qing's mouth so that he could not speak. They used electric batons to shock his head and eyes. They did this until the electric batons ran out of power. The police then went to the 3rd Group to borrow two more electric batons. They removed Liu Qing's pants and used the electric batons to shock him all the way from his feet, calves, and thighs to his torso, private parts, stomach, neck, and head. They repeated this six times, taking about an hour.
Before this, in order to protest the torture inflicted by the policemen in Masanjia, practitioner Mr. Zhao Jian shouted "Falun Dafa is good!" and "Stop the persecution of Falun Gong" in the canteen on February 14 and 15. The police then beat him and shocked him with electric batons in an erratic manner.
In order to stop the torture and make an appeal for Mr. Zhao, the practitioners there started to go on a hunger strike as a protest and refused to do slavery labor. The guards then carried out a mass persecution campaign specifically targeting Falun Gong practitioners for one month.
