Those who are arrested include dissenters, house losers, laid-off workers and Falun Gong practitioners.Shijiazhuang City Police Arrest Over 20 Falun Gong Practitioners on July 4 On July 4, 2008, the local police stations in Shijiazhuang City arrested more than 20 Falun Gong practitioners, and also searched their houses.
Falun Gong Practitioners Yang Xiaofeng and Qi Wenbin Tortured in Suihua Forced Labor Camp In Suihua Forced Labor Camp, the police tortured Mr. Yang Xiaofeng with burning cigarettes, because he refused to write the statements to renounce Falun Gong. Mr. Qi Wenbin refused to sing the Chinese Communist Party songs, so the guards inserted under his fingernails with needles, and shocked his genitals and feet with electric batons.
Jilin City CCP Authorities Conduct Arrests in the Name of Protecting the Olympics
To prepare for the Olympic Torch arriving in Jilin City on July 15, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities started massive arrests of people two months prior. People targeted for arrest included dissenters who criticized the CCP's corruption, those who protested their homes being demolished by the authorities without permission, laid-off workers, and people of spiritual conviction, including Falun Gong practitioners.
In a span of two months, Jilin City 610 Office agents arrested more than 100 Falun Gong practitioners. The police broke into the practitioners' homes without any legal documents. They took the practitioners away and did not tell the families where they would be detained.
At around 6:00 a.m. on July 7, 2008, officers from Changchun Street Police Station illegally arrested practitioner Ms. Wang Ying and then ransacked her home. Police from the Longjing City Domestic Security Team and Anmin Street Police Station arrested Ms. Ji Jinyu, who is in her 60s, as she was walking down the street. The police later ransacked her home, and took away her daughter's laptop computer and other personal items. Physical abuse by the police left Ms. Ji's legs covered in bruises. On July 9, the CCP authorities sentenced Ms. Ji to one year of forced labor and sent her to the Heizuizi Women's Prison in Changchun City.
At around :002 p.m. on July 10, the police from Yuebei Police Station and Changyi Domestic Security Team arrested practitioner Ms. Ma Li while she was at work. They took away more than 7,000 yuan in cash, a bank deposit book, a photocopying machine, and a printer. The police also ransacked her home and took away her laptop computer. Ms. Ma is currently detained at the Jilin City Detention Center.
At around 3:30 p.m. on July 11, the police from Dongjuzi police station arrested practitioner Ms. Mi Hong and ransacked her home. The police also took away Ms. Mi's daughter, who had just finished taking college entrance exams, to the Dongjuzi police station.
In the afternoon of July 11, four more practitioners were arrested.
At around 12:30 p.m. on July 12, the police from Chuanying District arrested practitioner Ms. Yang Shuhua, her sister, and another practitioner Ms. Du Hongfang in the Qingfeng Residential Area in Chuanying District of Jilin City.
On July 13, police arrested practitioner Ms. Feng, who lives in the Furniture Factory Residential Area.
On July 13, police officer Qi Guoqiang and five others from Tongjiang Police Station in Changyi District arrested practitioner Ms. Qi Yanming and ransacked her home. She was taken to the Tongjiang Police Station. There are several other practitioners detained there.
On July 13, police from the Xinshu Street Police Station, formerly called the Yushugou Police Station, arrested practitioner Dong Dianqing and his wife, and then ransacked their home.
Shijiazhuang City Police Arrest Over 20 Falun Gong Practitioners on July 4
On July 4, the Shijiazhuang City Police started to arrest Falun Gong practitioners throughout the whole city. All the practitioners who were on the police department's list were illegally arrested, sentenced, and imprisoned immediately, whether or not the police found any "evidence" when searching their homes.
University Professor Arrested
Ms. Wang Guilan is a professor at Hebei Province Medical University. She was arrested on the morning of July 4 by officers from the Yucai Police Station in Shijiazhuang City. Her whereabouts is currently unknown. Her 90-year-old mother, who is blind and totally reliant on her, is now alone.
Dr. Li Huiyun Arrested
Dr. Li Huiyun, who lived at Room 1104 of the Experts and Doctors Building in Shijiazhuang City, was arrested on the morning of July 4 by Nanchang Street Police Station officers. The police broke into his home and confiscated one laptop, one desktop computer, and other personal belongings.

A Railway Transportation Division Employee Arrested Again
At 6a.m. on July 4, 10 officers from the Changfeng Street Police Station broke into Mr. Li Huixin's home. They searched the house and arrested him.
Mr. Li Huixin's younger sister, practitioner, Ms. Li Huiqi, was persecuted to death by the CCP, and this was reported on Clearwisdom website. Right now Mr. Li has been "illegally detained" at the detention center near Honglou, Shijiazhuang City.
Other Practitioners Who Were Arrested and Harassed
1. July 4, at 6:30 a.m., policeman Wang Yugang and four others from the Lianmeng District broke into practitioner Cheng Jie's home. They confiscated Master Li's photo and articles.
2. July 4, at 8 a.m., Sifang Police Station officers arrested Oil Refinery Factory employee Ms. Hong Mei as she arrived at work. Then they ransacked her home. That night, practitioner Ms. Yu Jie went to the police station and told them that Ms. Hong was a good person and should not be arrested. But the police then arrested her and also ransacked her home. Ms. Hong and Ms. Yu have been detained at the detention center near Honglou at the south end of the Second Loop.
3. Ms. Meng Shufen, who lived in the units at the Shijiazhuang City Second Textile Factory, was arrested at home on July 4 by Jianshe North Avenue Police Station officers, and her home was ransacked.
4. Practitioner Yang Miao from Xigucheng District, Shijiazhuang City was arrested on July 4.
5. On July 4 at 6 a.m., officers from the Yuejin Police Station in Chang'an District broke into Mr. Gu Mengcun's home and arrested him. They took away the computer, printer, and Falun Gong books. Later Mr. Gu walked away from the police station.
6. July 4 at 4 p.m., practitioner Yao Haixia from Shifu District, Shijiazhuang City was arrested.
7. July 4 at 5.50 a.m., six police officers knocked on the door of Mr. Liu Hui's house, pretending to deliver express mail. Mr. Liu's family told them that he was not at home and asked who were they and why were they looking for him. They claimed that they were from Chang'an District Police Branch. The police forced entry and started to ransack the house. They confiscated Master Li's photo, one desktop computer, one laptop, one digital camera, photos, and other personal belongings.
Falun Gong Practitioners Yang Xiaofeng and Qi Wenbin Tortured in Suihua Forced Labor Camp
On May 27, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Xiaofeng was transferred from Huanan County Detention Center to Suihua Forced Labor Camp. Camp guards, including Jin Qingfu, Qian Shiliang, Hua Fei, and Diao Xuesong, forced him to write the three statements. After he refused, the guards tied him up on a bed, hit him in the chest, taped his mouth shut, and plugged his nose with 4 lit cigarettes, causing him to inhale the smoke. They burned through a whole pack of cigarettes using this torture method. They also used the cigarettes to burn Mr. Yang's fingernails. Later that evening, Mr. Yang coughed up a piece of cigarette.
On the evening of May 27, criminal inmate Li Yingjun was ordered by guards Diao Xuesong and Jin Qingfu to beat Mr. Yang Xiaofeng. The following day, Li Yingjing beat Mr. Yang Xiaofeng for about one hour. On the morning of May 29, Mr. Yang was beaten by Song Guojun.
These serious torture methods caused Mr. Yang breathing difficulties and serious chest pain. Instead of being sent to a hospital, he was forced to do heavy labor, such as moving bricks and stones.
Because Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qi Wenbin, from Shuangyashan City, refused to sing Chinese Communist Party songs and refused to recite the camp's rules and regulations, he was tortured by guards Gao Zhonghai, Diao Xuesong, and Liu Wei. He was hung up and needles were inserted under his fingernails. His genitals and feet were shocked with electric batons. His eyelids and nose were seriously burned with cigarettes. The torture lasted for more than seven hours. Mr. Qi Wenbin started to feel dizzy on June 7, as the torture escalated daily. He could not speak clearly, and began to lose his vision. He also couldn't control his hands and feet, and had difficulty urinating and defecating. Currently, his ankles are so swollen that his feet are turned inward, rendering him unable to stand. Guards take turns monitoring him. Under such conditions, he was sent to the camp hospital for a CT scan only. The guards claimed that Mr. Qi Wenbin was pretending to be ill. They ordered four criminal inmates to drag and pull him to the cafeteria during mealtimes. One doctor said that he should have been released from the camp a long time ago.
After being tortured to the point to mental instability, Falun Gong practitioner Qu Wenbin was transferred to Suihua Forced Labor Camp. At the labor camp, Qu is beaten by guards and criminals every day. This practitioner's condition is miserable and dire.
