After donating 500 yuan to Sichuan earthquake relief efforts, Mr. Yin Zemin was illegally arrested by the police, because the local CCP authorities declared that Falun Gong practitioners did not have money, therefore, someone with the resources must be a "Falun Gong coordinator." On July 1, Mr. Yin Zemin was taken to Baoding Forced Labor Camp.

On July 20, eleven Falun Gong practitioners from Sanjiazi and Tianshenghao villages in Lingyuan City, Liaoning province were arrested for distributing truth telling fliers. They were tortured in the police station and then sent to a detention center.

Mr. Yin Zemin is a Falun Gong practitioner from Yongyang Town, Laishui County in Hebei Province. When he learned of the recent 7.9-magnitude earthquake, he consulted with his family, then donated 500 yuan (which was a portion of the money the family saved for his father's medical care) to the devastated area relief efforts.

However, Yin Zemin's kindness was rewarded instead with an illegal search and seizure. On June 6, 2008, Mr. Yin was illegally arrested Yongyang Town police station. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officers declared that Falun Gong practitioners did not have money, therefore, someone with the resources to donate 500 yuan must be a "Falun Gong coordinator." On July 1, he was taken to the Baoding Forced Labor Camp. During the process of transferal to the camp, Yin Zemin suffered extremely high blood pressure, which endangered his life.

Throughout the nine years of persecution, the CCP and Jiang's regime have implemented brutal persecution of practitioners, following Jiang's directive to "destroy their reputations, cut them off financially, and eradicate them physically." Local officials have extorted money from practitioners through various means, ordered their homes to be searched and confiscated their property. As a result, practitioners' lives have become extremely difficult. As soon as he heard about the earthquake, Yin Zemin tried his best to help the victims of the disaster, but was instead persecuted by CCP officials.

On the evening of July 19, eleven Falun Gong practitioners, Liu Shufeng, Yun Guolin, Hao Zhenlin, Wang Zhigang, Liu Shulan, Ms Ren, Fan Zhenguo, Yan Zhifu, Gao Fengshan, Zhang You, Pang Qingbai from Sanjiazi and Tianshenghao villages in Lingyuan City, Liaoning province, went to Taohuachi village in Pingfangzi Township, Kazuo County, to distribute truth-clarifying materials. At 3:30 a.m. on July 20, when they were about halfway home, armed police officers arrested them and took them to the Pingfangzi police station.

After they arrived at the police station, one of Falun Gong practitioners, Yun Guolin, was shot twice by police as he tried to escape. He was then handcuffed and beaten with electric batons, rubber clubs, fists, and foot kicks. The police also tortured the other ten practitioners with the electric batons and rubber clubs. All the while, police verbally belittled the Falun Gong practitioners. They were not allowed to eat, drink, or use the restroom. Although the practitioners told the police about the benefits of Falun Gong, they were still beaten and cursed at. When 73-year-old practitioner, Hao Zhenlin shouted "Falun Dafa is good!" and "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance are good" he was pushed to the ground.

On the morning of July 20, one of the practitioners escaped. The rest were sent to Kazuo county detention center.

On the same day, officers from the Lingyuan Police Department and Shajiazi local police station went to Liu Shufeng's home and arrested his wife, searched the house, and confiscated personal items. Mr. Liu's wife is currently imprisoned in the Lingyuan detention center.

The police also searched most of the other Falun Gong practitioners' homes and confiscated Pang Qingbai's TV receiver.
