Because of practicing Falun Gong, Mr. Yu Shanqi was imprisoned in a forced labor camp, then he suffered three months of psychiatric persecution in a mental hospital. On December 19, 2008, while he was taking in his ID card, the police abducted him again for a "psychiatric diagnosis" and then forced his family to inject him with psychiatric drugs.
Mr. Yu Shanqi Injected with Psychiatric Drugs
Mr. Yu Shaoqi, 32, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Chenxi County, Hunan Province. Recently, local Chinese Community Party (CCP) authorities forced his family to inject him with psychiatric drugs.
Mr. Yu Shaoqi, also called Yu Jun, is an employee of the Chenxi County Meteorological Bureau in Hunan Province. Since the CCP started persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in July 1999, Mr. Yu has been detained at least six times. In November 2005, he was imprisoned in a forced labor camp. In December 2006, under pressure from the Huaihua City CCP Political and Judiciary Committee, the 610 Office, the City and the County Domestic Security Team, Mr. Yu's employer, the Meteorological Bureau, took him to the Huaihua City Mental Hospital. While there, he suffered three months of psychiatric persecution and developed symptoms of dementia, foot trembling, blurred vision, and mouth-watering.
In recent months, the 610 Office, the CCP Political and Judiciary Committee, and the Domestic Security Team have forced Mr. Yu's family to choose between injecting him with psychiatric drugs at home themselves or admitting him to a mental hospital. A month ago, his parents, his first cousins Yu Bin and Zhang Liming, and cousins Aqin and Zhang Xiaolong tied up Mr. Yu at home and injected him with psychiatric drugs. As a result, he suffered from blurred vision and foot trembling.
On the morning of December 19, 2008, while he was taking in his ID card to the police department, Mr. Yu was arrested by Gong Zhiren, director of the Domestic Security Team, officer Xie Kaiji and others. Zhai Xiaoming, the director of the 610 Office, Huang Mingqiang, the associate director of the 610 Office, and Yang, the political instructor of the Domestic Security Team, took Mr. Yu to Changsha City for a "psychiatric diagnosis" and then forced Mr. Yu's family to inject him with psychiatric drugs again. On January 11, 2009, the same family members injected him twice at home.
Mr. Yu's family members are also victims of the persecution. Mr. Yu Xuegeng, 60, Mr. Yu's father, is a former associate director of the County Civil Affairs Bureau. In 2000, he was dismissed from office by the then-associate secretary of the county CCP committee for his son's practice of Falun Gong. He developed high blood pressure and other illnesses as a result of the CCP's threats and intimidation.
Ms. Zheng Huaying, 56, Mr. Yu's mother, is a teacher at Xiongshoushan Primary School in Chenxi County. She could not sleep and would cry the whole night whenever her son was being persecuted. Whenever Mr. Yu was imprisoned, his family tried to find a way to visit him. They were discriminated against and had tens of thousands of yuan extorted from them.
