Ms. Wang Hui in Laiwu City, Shandong Province Sent to Forced Labor Camp
At about 4:00 p.m. on February 7, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Hui, from Laiwu City, Shandong Province, was arrested by Chengxi (West Town) Police Station and the City Domestic Security Team. On the next day, she was taken to Jinan City Forced Labor Camp.
Around 7:20 p.m. on February 7, the police encircled Ms. Wang's apartment, intending to search her home and confiscate her property. At the time, Ms. Wang's husband was visiting relatives and not home. Only their daughter, a Grade 10 student, was at home at the time. When the police banged on the door from outside, she was so scared that she locked the door, and thus the police were unable to enter the home, and then went downstairs.
On the main floor of the building is a fried dough store owned by Ms. Wang Hui. The police gathered in front of the store and tried to figure out how to force it open. Eventually they gave it up and left at around midnight.
On February 8, as she was scared being home alone, Ms. Wang's daughter went to her grandfather's home. When she was forcibly taken away, Ms. Wang had her house key with her. Given the situation that nobody was home, the officers from Chengxi Police Station and the Domestic Security Team used Ms. Wang's key to enter the home, confiscating Falun Gong books and their daughter's computer. They also left behind a sham judgment stating that Ms. Wang had been sent to a forced-labor camp for a term of two years.
