The police and the 610 agents took Mr. Xie Deqing's body and cremate it by force. They claimed, "We don't care if you expose our actions, even to the international society..."
Due to international attention to Chinese human rights violations, the forced labor camp used more concealed means to torture over six hundred Falun Gong practitioners jailed there.

At 3:00 a.m. on May 29, 2009, agents from the 610 Office and the local police station broke into the workers' dormitory of Chengdu Survey and Design Institute of China Irrigation Consulting Group. They surrounded the mourning hall of Mr. Xie Deqing, a Falun Gong practitioner who was tortured to death. The police forcibly took away Mr. Xie's body. In addition, they injured Mr. Xie's oldest son Xie Weidong and arrested Mr. Xie's second son Xie Weiming.

According to Mr. Xie's relatives, over 100 police officers broke into the home. A group of anti-riot police seized Mr. Xie's body. When Mr. Xie's two sons tried to stop them, Xie Weidong was pushed to the ground, kicked and beaten. His buttocks were kicked so hard they were swollen and he couldn't walk. His lips were injured and his arms had many abrasions.
According to Mr. Xie's family members, Mr. Xie's body had turned black and showed signs of poisoning.

The agents from the 610 Office told Mr. Xie's family and relatives, "We don't care if you expose our actions, even to the international society. Since we mobilized so many people in such a big formation, we don't care from the very beginning."
At noon on May 30, 2009, the Chengdu City 610 Office cremated Mr. Xie's body without the permission by his family.
Mr. Xie died the evening of May 27, 2009. Four days earlier, on the evening of May 23, at 10 o'clock, Fang Guofu from the Corporation and officers from the Chengdu City 610 Office brought Mr. Xie back home. At the time, after twenty days of imprisonment, Mr. Xie was emaciated, had lost bladder control, could barely swallow, suffered from severe chest pain, and fell in and out of consciousness. They wanted to shirk responsibility for Mr. Xie's condition.
Mr. Xie was detained in the so-called "Chengdu City Legal Education Center." Within 20 days of relentless torture, Mr. Xie turned from a very healthy man to someone barely recognizable, a man with a broken body. After Mr. Xie was taken home, he spoke intermittently about what had happened at the so-called education center. According to his family, staff in Chengdu City Legal Education Center (also called Xinjin Brainwashing Center) injected him with unknown drugs.
Mr. Xie was 69 years old and lived at 188, East Qingjiang Rd. He had retired from Chengdu Survey and Design Institute because he had been quite ill. His wife Ms. Yu Qinfang, 67 years old, also retired from the same company. After they practiced Falun Gong since 1996, all of their illnesses disappeared.
Since Jiang Zemin launched the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, Mr. Xie and his wife have suffered a great deal. Local CCP authorities monitor and follow the couple, ransack their home, fine them, arrest them and take them to brainwashing and detention centers on different occasions.
On April 29, 2009, Gaoxin District Court tried Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chen Changyuan. Mr. Xie and his wife went to the court to support Mr. Chen. However, the police arrested them outside the court and took them to Xinjin Brainwashing Center.
Xinjin Brainwashing Center is located in Cai Bay, Huaqiao Town, Xinjin County, a facility remodeled from an old air force base by CCP with a price of five million yuan (~US$720,000). At the brainwashing center, guards torture Falun Gong practitioners, inject them with nerve damaging drugs, mix health-damaging drugs in their meals and water, force-feed practitioners and extort money from their families. Many practitioners had suffered a mental collapse due to the torture, some became physically disabled, severely ill, and some died at the center.
After Mr. Xie returned home, he suffered severe chest pain and could not move his body. On May 25, he fell into a coma. At 10:00 p.m. on May 27, Mr. Xie died. Before he died, he said that Fang Guofu from the Institute and agents from the City 610 Office abducted him near the District Court. His health deteriorated because of torture and he couldn't eat or drink for more than ten days while detained at the brainwashing center.
Cruel Torture Methods in Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp
The Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp consists of eight regular wards and one training ward. In total the camp hold more than eight hundred people, 80 percent of whom are Falun Gong practitioners. Among these practitioners, over 70 percent are seniors aged 50-70 years old. They are forced daily to do slave labor for nearly 10 hours, and this time does not include the weed-pulling they do before breakfast or after dinner.
Due to international attention to Chinese human rights violations, tortures that can be easily detected by medical methods have been largely reduced on Falun Gong practitioners, but more vicious means are still used, especially to those who refuse to give up their faith or write the Three Statements. Inmates are used as torturers; they are given special privileges to beat or curse practitioners at will, steal practitioners' belongings, and force practitioners to watch slanderous DVDs or read slanderous materials.
Steadfast practitioners are forced go through brainwashing and locked in solitary confinement, where the door and windows are tightly shut and covered with black plastic. Practitioners are forced to sit straight on plastic chairs, legs close to each other, both hands on their knees, and they are not allowed to lower their heads, to bend down, or to close their eyes. If anyone changes her position one bit, prisoners would punch or kick them, curse them, or beat them with a bottle of water. At the same time, they force practitioners to sleep less by extending the sitting torture from 12 midnight to 2 a.m. but still force them to get up at 4 a.m. This kind of sitting torture lasts 17-18 hours per day.
In solitary confinement, these practitioners are constantly deprived of their right to use the toilet. Each request takes 4-5 hours to be answered, and some practitioners are forced to soil their pants. They are never allowed to eat regularly and are starved. It takes guards 1-2 hours to answer their eating requests. The food is frozen cold in the winter. Some practitioners go on hunger strike to protest such torture, so guards use prisoners to force-feed them, causing practitioners to suffer bleeding in their mouths and noses in a tragic way.
Forceful administration of drugs is another torture means. Once any practitioner feels discomfort or sick, they would be put on medication for their the entire term and not allowed to stop after feeling better. Guards force practitioners to open their mouths after taking the pills to check that they have swallowed, or they are force-fed the drugs. Guards also tie firm practitioners legs in the lotus position for a whole day.
Elderly female practitioner Zhang, firmly kept her faith and was imprisoned for eight months in a mesh bag only three feet tall in the training ward. There was only one hose on the floor for her to drink from or wash herself with. The guards force-fed her with highly-concentrated salt water and shut off the hose. She passed out due to too much salt in her system. She was rushed to be resuscitated, and later taken to a regular ward.
The training ward is specially designed to torture Falun Gong practitioners. Guards have concentrated practitioners from each ward that solidly refuse to accept the brainwashing. This ward is very isolated, and no one is allowed to go near. The steadfast practitioners are tortured here very brutally.
