Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Huili persisted in her belief and explained the facts about Falun Gong to people. After sending her to one term of forced labor, the police arrested Ms. Wang once again in December 2009. She lost consciousness in Fengnan District Court during a trial on April 16, 2010. Prior to this trial, the Domestic Security Team of Fengnan District Precinct tortured Ms. Wang. She was made to sit on a bench for extended periods, was placed in shackles, and brutally assaulted.
Ms. Wang used to have arthritis, high blood pressure and had lost almost all ability to do work. She began practicing Falun Gong in 1996, became healthy, and her life was filled with happiness.
The afternoon of July 29, 2008, deputy chief Bi Haibo from Wanggezhuang Town Police Station and a dozen policemen, including Zhang Chunxi, forcibly carried Ms. Wang into a vehicle. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, VCD, magazines and other personal belongings. At the station, police chief Wang Hongcheng and policeman Zhang Chunxi boxed Ms. Wang in the arms and chest. This caused her breathing difficulties for a few days. They sent her to the district detention center that same day. Fifteen days later, under instigation from Wang Hongcheng, without any paperwork, they sent Ms. Wang to the 1st Forced Labor Camp of Tangshan City for two years of forced labor. While there, guard Yang Haifeng pushed her to the ground, then stepped on her head and assaulted her. She was forced to do labor, such as bundling chopsticks. Extended periods of persecution and abuse resulted in Ms. Wang having high blood pressure and a heart attack. The labor camp was afraid to take responsibility, and four and a half months later, Ms. Wang was releases on medical parole.
On December 13, 2009, four plainclothes agents took Wang Huili to the precinct to be interrogated. She was made to sit on a metal bench for a long time, shackled, physically assaulted and subjected to other mistreatment. The police held Ms. Wang at Fengnan District Detention Center.
On April 16, 2010 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Fengnan District Court tried Ms. Wang, who had been detained for over four months. Six relatives brought their identity cards with them and walked into the court to attend the trial, while a dozen friends and relatives waited outside. The persecutors feared the family and relatives would engage a human rights lawyer to plead Ms. Wang's innocence. Prior to the trial, the authorities compelled all family members to leave their fingerprints at Huanggezhuang Police Station and set the trial date for April 16, 2010. Before the trial, at around 8:40 a.m., court administrator Wei Suzhen and judge Bi Kailiang summoned the family to the second floor and told them that the court had engaged a lawyer for Ms. Wang.
During the court hearing, Ms. Wang told the court-appointed lawyer that if he understood the facts about Falun Gong she would let him defend her; otherwise, she would not engage him. In the courtroom Ms. Wang talked about her personal experiences with Falun Gong and how the practice brought wonders and hope to her life. She also told the prosecutor all that everything written in the charges against her was rubbish, and it was all a frame-up and slander. While speaking, Ms. Wang suddenly collapsed on the table and lost consciousness.
