  • Mr. Wang Dianren's Life is in Danger as He Suffers Persecution

Mr. Wang Dianren from Tonghua City, Jilin Province went to see his grandchildren at his daughter's home on February 5, 2005. The officers from the local police station abducted him and took him to the police station soon after he came into the house. Police officers Wang Yongqing, Li Jie, and the Deputy Director tortured and shocked him with electric batons. His pubic area was injured and he could not urinate properly. The police stripped his clothes off and pushed him outside. After exposing him to the cold weather for hours, they poured hot water on his back followed by cold water for a long period. He was shivering due to the severe injury. In order to cover up their crimes, the police secretly sent him to No. 206 Hospital for medical treatment. At that time, his family members did not know his whereabouts. One month later, they found out about his condition after much inquiry. They requested that Laozhan Police Station release and compensate him. However, the police did not want to make it public and threatened to arrest Wang Dianren's daughter. They claimed that she had harbored her father. The purpose was to quiet the family members, who had no other alternative but to keep silent. There was no place for them to appeal.

After Wang Dianren was sent to Changliu Detention Center, the prison guards cruelly beat him many times. Once, prison guard Liu Jian kicked him hard because he shouted out, "Falun Dafa is good!" His spleen was badly injured. He became faint due to the extreme pain. He hasn't yet recovered.

Without any notice given to his family members, the court sentenced Wang Dianren to three and a half years of imprisonment. The police attempted to send him to the prison on August 8, 2005. Wang Dianren is now on a hunger strike to resist the persecution, and his life is in danger.

Ms. Xu Jingxian of Changsha City, Hunan Province Facing Illegal Court Trial - Her Non-Practitioner Husband and Son Sentenced to Labor Camp

Arrested four months ago by police, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu Jingxian from Changsha City, Hunan Province, is now facing an illegal court trial. Her husband and son, who are not Falun Gong practitioners, were sent to a labor camp a few days ago.

Ms. Xu Jingxian is 52 years old. She is a retired worker from Changsha Construction Company and lives in the Zhushan Yuan Kaifu area. After Jiang's regime illegally banned Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Xu Jingxian remained steadfast in her practice of Falun Gong and clarified the truth to many people. On appealing in Beijing in 2000, she was illegally detained. In 2002, during the government's Sixteenth Pary Congress, she was arrested and taken to the Laodaohe Brainwashing Center in Changsha City where she was forcibly subjected to brainwashing. Nonetheless, the whole time she was there she never cooperated with the evil officers.

On April 7, 2005, Xu Jingxian's entire family was arrested by the police and taken to the Xinghe Police Department, Kaifu area branch police department in Changsha City. On that day, the police waited for her son, Shen Xiaoming, who was on his way home from work. They then arrested him, took his house key, and used it to get in the house and arrest Ms. Xu. Ms. Xu's husband, Shen Hesen, was also arrested that day.

It is said that Shen Hesen and Shen Xiaoming have already been sent to Xingkaipu Labor Camp in Changsha City. They were then illegally sentenced to one year and three months and one year and six months respectively. Shen Hesen worked at a transportation company in Changsha. He is 58 years old. The son, Shen Xiaoming, is about 20 years old and is a program designer. Neither of them practices Falun Gong, but they both believe that Falun Dafa is good.

Xi Jongxian was illegally detained in the Changsha City Detention Center in the Changqiao area. This practitioner reported that the prison police locked and tightened her to a door board, and they would not release her even for meals; instead they let the prisoners force-feed her. The persecution is very bad there.

According to a report, Ms. Xu has already received the so-called "law suit documents" from Kaifu area Changsha Province, saying that on August 4th Kaifu area court will commence trail on her.

When the Xinghe police detention center officials arrested Xu's whole family, they did many things that violated the law. For example, they made Xu's relative sign a detention document with a different date, (the day was April 13, 2005, but they forced the relative to sign for April 8). The detention center also violated the codes of criminal investigation procedure and some other related laws. After arresting Ms. Xu, they searched her house without her relatives present. In response to Xu's relative's pleas for help, a local police officer, Zhou Maohua, advised Xu's relative to look for someone they knew who was working in the Province's Public Security Department to get Shen Xiaoming out. He also introduced a person named Zhang to help the relative out. Zhang later asked the relative for 400 yuan in the name of "socializing with the officials." Wong Yueping, the police officer who handled the case, also forced the relative to buy him cigarettes worth 600 yuan.

The Situation of Three Incarcerated Practitioners from Shuangcheng City

Four practitioners, including Wang Shuzhi, Wang Wenrong, and Xue Qinghua from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province were unlawfully arrested when distributing truth clarification materials in Xingshan in February 2003. The arrests were carried out by the local police led by Liu Hongtong, head of Xingshan Police Station. The practitioners were beaten and vilified, interrogated, tortured and unlawfully sentenced. The details of the persecution of Wang Shuzhi, Wang Wenrong, and Xue Qinghua are as follows:

    Wang Shuzhi

Ms. Wang Shuzhi, 41, is a practitioner from Changfeng Village, former Duimiancheng Town, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. In April 2000, she planned to appeal in Beijing but was arrested on her way by the police in Jingzhou City, and was taken back by Liu Cheng, a police officer from Duimiancheng Town, to her hometown. Later she was detained at a detention center in Shuangcheng City and fined 1000 yuan.

In January 2001, Wang Shuzhi was arrested at home by Fan Dongjun, the head of Duimiancheng Police Station. Others involved in her arrest were: Sun Jihua, the Political and Legal Party Secretary; Tian Chunlai, Li Zhicheng, the Party Secretaries responsible for Party and People Relationships; Wang Xin, the Party Secretary; and Zhao Fulian, the head of the township government. She was later detained and persecuted at the Shuangcheng Detention Center. In May of the same year, Wang Shuzhi was arrested at a Fa Conference held in Hongcheng Town by Sunjihua, the Political and Legal Party Secretary of Handian Town, Zhao Hongsheng, and others. She was then detained at Shuangcheng Detention Center and was severely tortured. After being released from the detention center, her husband divorced her under psychological and financial pressure from the evil CCP. A warm family was thus broken.

On February 28, 2003, Wang Shuzhi was unlawfully arrested again by the police from Xingshan Police Station when she went to Xingshan to distribute truth clarification materials. She was shocked with electronic batons and beaten with sticks. Her breasts and toes were all black and blue, and wounds appeared all over her body. Later, she was unlawfully sentenced to five years of imprisonment at the Heilongjiang Women's Prison located in Harbin City. Her two daughters are now raised by their grandmother.

    Wang Wenrong

Ms. Wang Wenrong, 37, is a practitioner from Baoguo Village, Wanlong Town, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. She was unlawfully arrested by Xingshan police in February, 2003, and was sentenced to three years of imprisonment at the Heilongjiang Women's Prison. Her family was bankrupt by the persecution. Her two children, the younger one only nine years old, are now raised by their grandmother.

Wang Wenrong has been severely tortured at the Heilongjiang Women's Prison. On November 28, 2003, she was shocked with electronic batons and kicked by Wu Yanjie. Another inmate, Liu Yumei, kicked Wang Wenrong in the chest, leaving her breathless.

    Xue Qinghua

Mr. Xue Qinghua, 40, is a practitioner from Shuangsheng Village, Wanlong Town, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. On December 19, 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, was arrested and sent to Shuangcheng Detention Center. After having been unlawfully detained for 39 days, he was detained in Wanlong Town for another month.

In February, 2003, he was again arrested by Xingshan Police when he was distributing truth clarification materials in Xingshan Town. He was unlawfully sentenced to five years of imprisonment at Daqing Prison. His land was taken by the persecutors and he has been left penniless.

Wanjia Labor Camp Guards Torture  Ms. Zhang Hong to Death

Ms. Zhang Hong was a pharmacist at the Number Four Hospital of Harbin City. She lived near the Dongli District Botanical Garden in Harbin City. In July 2004, because of her firm persistence in practicing Falun Gong, she was sentenced to the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City for the second time. On July 31, 2004, the labor camp guards tortured Ms. Zhangto death. She was only 31 years old.

On July 22, 2004 four people carried Ms. Zhang from the Number Two Detention Center in Harbin City (in the Yaziquan area) to the training unit of the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. By that time Ms. Zhang had been on a hunger strike for quite a few days. She was emaciated and wearing only a big sleeveless undergarment and shorts. She refused to write the Three Statements. The head of the training unit, Zhang Quiyun, handcuffed her to a bed with both hands stretched out horizontally.

Guard Yao Fuchang immediately held a meeting with the inmates who were on duty that night for monitoring other inmates. At the meeting, Yao said, "A Falun Gong practitioner was transferred here for the second time. She still hasn't written the "Three Statement" and she is very stubborn. Keep a close eye on her. Don't talk to her and don't grant her anything she asks for."

I saw that Mr. Zhang's hands were cuffed to two beds. Her feet were swollen and had turned purple. She couldn't wear shoes. She was standing barefoot on the concrete floor. I heard that she had severe heart disease due to the persecution. She wasn't allowed to go to the restroom and couldn't move her body. She was handcuffed like this for three days and three nights.

On July 27, guards Yao Fuchang and Na Dongbo held an emergency meeting with the inmates that were on duty that night. Yao said, "Zhang Hong still hasn't written the "Three Statements." She is against the government and is still on a hunger strike. Don't close the windows tonight or give her a comforter. Don't give her any water to drink. (The labor camp is in northern China. Even in summer, it is cold during the late night and early morning hours)

That night, I went to see Zhang Hong. She was lying on a bare bed with her hands cuffed to the head of the bed and feet tied to the foot of the bed. She could not move. The solitary confinement room she was in was dark, cold and damp. Even in hot summer, people would shiver with cold in this room. The walls were covered with green mold. This was the darkest room in the hell-like Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. This gloomy and horrible room was the torture chamber for practitioners. Many practitioners were tortured to death or to disability there. Monitoring equipment could be found everywhere in the labor camp except in this room. It's very clear the labor camp doesn't want people to find out how they brutally torture practitioners. A kind-hearted person put a comforter over Mr. Zhang. Yao Fuchang found out and threw away the comforter.

Ms. Zhang Hong was tied to the bed board for three days and nights. Her legs had turned purplish black. With the windows open, she was exposed to the cold wind at night. She was forced to relieve herself in the bed, which was just a wood board. The room was filled with an unpleasant odor.

Ms. Zhang's painful cries during the force-feeding were heart wrenching. Force-feeding should have been performed by professionally trained doctors and she should have been fed nutritious food. But Wanjia Forced Labor Camp ordered inmates with no medical knowledge to perform the force-feeding. Instead of nutritious food, they used concentrated saline water. Sometimes, the feeding tube was inserted into practitioners' trachea, causing the concentrated saline water to flow into the lungs, which would often lead to death from suffocation.

Ms. Zhang was given intravenous infusions (IVs). Guard Yao Fuchang ordered people to soak the IV solution in ice-cold water before administering it to her. All the torture methods, including the cold IV, open windows, no comforter at night, not allowing her to use the restroom, the cold and damp room, the bad odors, beating, scolding, shocking with electric batons, and force-feeding, pushed Ms. Zhang to the brink of death.

Starting from July 27, under the guards' order, the only people who could see Ms. Zhang were the inmates who were in charge of monitoring and torturing her. These inmates were the hatchet men for the guards. Practitioners who refused to write the "Three Statements" were brutally tortured by " Hanging Up," (a torture method in which the practitioner is hung by the cuffed hands with the feet just off the ground, causing excruciating pain as the handcuffs cut into the skin), shocking with electric batons, sitting on the iron bench, beating, squatting on a piece of brick, and more.

After a while, we didn't hear Ms. Zhang's voice. A witness reported to us, "Guard Yao Fuchang covered her mouth with plastic tape to stop her from screaming." After that, we don't know exactly what happened to her before her death.

At around 2:00 pm on July 31, 2004, I saw guards wearing masks and gloves carrying Ms. Zhang away on a stretcher. The guards told us that they were taking her to the hospital since she was sick. We later found out that she was dead.

In order to cover up the labor camp's criminal acts and attempt to get away with the murder, on August 5th 2004, the labor camp changed the solitary confinement room where Ms. Zhang was held (the interrogation room) into a clinic. A new sign reading "Clinic" was put up, and several beds were put in the room. They wanted to trick the investigation staff into believing that Ms. Zhang didn't die from brutal torture, but from natural causes. They also destroyed all of Ms. Zhang's clothes. It was said that the head of the guards, Wu Hongxun, tried very hard to cover up guard Yao Fuchang's murderous acts.

No matter how hard the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp tries to cover up the murders of Zhang Hong and other Falun Gong practitioners by guards like Yao Fuchang, they won't be able to escape the consequences. Guards like Yao Fuchang are supposed to enforce the law. Yet they themselves have violated the law by using unspeakable torture to kill practitioners. Their actions are blatant challenges to the justice system and trample both the law and human rights.

Since the persecution is still going on and tragedies like this are still happening every day, we urge people from all circles to lend a hand to stop this brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

The 610 Office Arrests Mr. He Sanpu, A Practitioner from Zhengzhou City, for the Fourth Time

On July 11, 2005, the 610 Office arrested Zhengzhou practitioner Mr. He Sanpu for the fourth time, after he had become homeless to avoid recapture. He is being detained at the brainwashing center at the Wangqing Mansion on the outskirts of Zhangzhou City.

Mr. He Sanpu, 56, used to work at the Propaganda Department of the CCP Committee of Henan Province. Because he did not want to give up his belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," Lin Yanzhi, who was then head of the Propaganda Department and is now vice Party Secretary of the CCP Committee of Jilin Province, forced him to stop working for four months. Mr. He was also sent to the brainwashing center. Because Mr. He was strong in his belief in Falun Gong, he was removed from his position at the CCP Committee of Henan Province and sent to the Henan Newspaper Group (Henan Daily). He was told that, "Falun Gong practitioners are not allowed to work at Party or governmental organizations." On July 14, 2000, Mr. He called Li Jianxin, the director of the Politics and Security Department, Jinshui Police Station, Zhengzhou City. He told Li that it is illegal to detain practitioners and that good will be rewarded with good and evil with evil. Twenty minutes after Mr. He hung up the phone, the Politics and Security Department, Jinshui Police Station arrested him at his workplace. The Henan Daily and the police station conspired to block the news of Mr. He's arrest and then searched his home. His family tried various means to locate him before finding out that Mr. He was detained at the No. 1 Detention Center of Zhengzhou (Section 8). Mr. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor camp after being tortured for fifty days. He was then sent to Baimiao Forced Labor Camp where he was persecuted further.

During his time at the forced labor camp, Mr. He was severely tortured. One evening in late January 2002, police officer He Xiaonglong at Group 3, Baimiao Forced Labor Camp forced practitioners to watch a TV program on CCTV called "Focus Interview," which defamed Falun Gong and to write articles about the program afterwards. Mr. He explored the lies of the TV program in his article and signed at the bottom "Practitioner He Sanpu." At about 9 o'clock the next morning, policeman He Xianglong took Mr. He Sanpu to the office of Division 3 and closed the door. With the assistance of another policeman Ma, He Xianglong handcuffed Mr. He, and each of the two policemen then used an electronic baton to shock Mr. He's face, lips, neck, and eyes. They also slapped him on the face and kicked him. The torture lasted for about 30 minutes.

Mr. He went on hunger strike to protest the persecution, but the policemen then shocked him with seven or eight electric batons, leaving his face burnt. They also beat and kicked him and prolonged his detention period for another 3 months. Additionally, the staff of the Henan Newspaper Group cancelled his benefits related to the rank of deputy director and they reduced his salary.

When the detention period ended, Mr. He was not allowed to go home. The Henan Newspaper Group and the city 610 Office arranged for about twenty people to take him to the brainwashing center at the Wangqing Mansion, next to Xiliu Lake on the western outskirts of Zhengzhou City. Mr. He was detained there for five months. On December 30, 2002, he was released. Just two months later, on February 26, 2003, the Jinshuihe Police Station arrested him after he came back from work. After a dozen days of being completely unaware of Mr. He's situation, his family finally found out that he was detained at the Heizhuang Detention Center of Jinshui District. Mr. He had been arrested because the supervising police station had divided the number of practitioners among the lower level police branches during the two national conferences held at that time, so that every police station or branch had an obligation to arrest a certain number of practitioners.

Mr. He's third arrest occurred on December 1, 2003. When he was at work, his workplace staff and city 610 Office arrested Mr. He and sent him to the Xiliu Lake Brainwashing Center of Zhengzhou. Because Mr. Hu's workplace and the 610 Office placed such great pressure on him and frequently assaulted him, and because of the danger of his being sent to the brainwashing center at any time, once Mr. He was released, he had little choice but to leave home. After he left home, the police wanted him for no reason. They cancelled his ID, so that he was not able to go home at all. On July 11, 2005, Mr. He was arrested for the fourth time while he was taking a bus with his wife, Ms. Zhang Hanwen (also a practitioner). Ms. Zhang was able to run away from the police with righteous thoughts, but nobody has heard from her since then, because she cannot come home. Mr. He was sent to the brainwashing center again.
