Case Description:
Ms. Kang took up Falun Gong in 1997. After the communist regime ordered the persecution in 1999, she appealed several times for the right to practice Falun Gong and was held in the local brainwashing center as a result. She was given 1.5 years of forced labor on January 1, 2000. After her husband passed away in 2019, she relied on her daughter for care. But the persecution her daughter suffered caused tremendous mental distress to Ms. Kang and eventually claimed her life in 2021.
