From May 27 to 29, about one hundred Falun Dafa practitioners from New Jersey, New York City, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, spent the three-day Memorial Long Weekend doing intensive group study and practice at Paramus in north New Jersey. The practitioners read through Zhuan Falun and Falun Fofa-Essentials for Further Advances together in four languages - Chinese, English, Korean, and Russian. They also watched the videotape of Teacher Li's lectures in Los Angeles.
During the brief discussions, practitioners talked about the importance of studying Fa and cultivating Xinxing during the whole course of cultivation. They also recognized their deficiencies in this respect. By discussing events that occurred recently, practitioners improved their understanding of the seriousness of cultivation practice. They also pointed out the dangers of self-promotion and pursuing supernormal capabilities, as well as demonic interference from one's own mind. Also, the practitioner from the Falun Fofa Association reiterated the words from our revered teacher Mr. Li Hongzhi urging us to read the books more and study Fa more. All practitioners present were deeply moved.
Some practitioners whose native language is Chinese began reading Falun Dafa books in English. When asked why, they said they were doing it so they could spread Falun Dafa better later on. Some practitioners began to experience the effects of eliminating Karma on the second and the third days of the group study. However, throughout the three days of intensive group study, most practitioners felt enriched and happy although they were tired due to sitting on the ground for the three days. The three-day group study ended with everybody's more earnest heart for cultivation practice.
