It consists of over 80 different nationalities. The association will hold an evening banquet on February 16 and hundreds of tickets have been sold.
Consisting of over 80 community groups in the Greater Toronto City Area, "Friends of Falun Gong" admires Falun Gong practitioners for their moral standards, courage and spiritual realms obtained from the cultivation based upon the universal principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." In addition, they admire their peaceful and rational approach expressed under tremendous pressure of the Chinese government.
"Friends of Falun Gong," working together with the same associations in other countries (such as Australia and the United States) aim at awakening people and enabling them to give Falun Gong practitioners support. In this way, all can work together for the peace of humankind.
Falun Gong has gained the awareness of the mainstream of Canadian society especially. In the period of this Chinese "Spring Festival," 9 cities and their surrounding areas in Ontario province have claimed January 22nd 28th as "Falun Dafa Week." These include:
