October 9 was the first day of the US-China Human Rights Dialogue. Early in the morning, practitioners arrived at the conference place -- the US State Department. They held banners and stood on the sidewalks on the side of the US State Department. At 10:00am, they held a press conference in the park behind the State Department and read the press statement. Reporters from AP, RFA and World Journal, etc. conducted interviews. A Taiwan TV Station interviewed practitioners and planned to air the program at night. At 5:00pm, after learning that the conference was over, practitioners peacefully dispersed. After a short rest, they started to prepare for the candlelight vigil that night.
