At first Ms. Dahua was not a practitioner but an ordinary person. She had been detained in jail for a period of approximately three months. During that time, she met many Dafa practitioners, learned the true principles of the Buddha Law -- Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, memorized "Lunyu," and became determined to be a good person in accordance to Dafa's teachings. One day, while returning to our cell after an interrogation, she said that she had just praised Dafa to the police detective. She told the detective, "Those who practice Falun Gong are good people. Their spirit of unselfishness has motivated inmates to become better people. Why do you detain such good people in this place? What you do must be wrong." The detective said, "You should be concerned about your own offence, instead of caring about Falun Gong. You have violated the law of our country. You should focus on dealing with your own problem." Dahua replied, "Persecuting Falun Gong is violating the Law of Heaven. You will not even have a chance for regret on the day when Dafa's good name is restored."
Before Dahua became a practitioner she was already a kind-hearted person. She had been open-minded, bright and breezy, and very direct in her speech as well as willing to help others. She used to consider herself to be a very good person. After being in jail, she witnessed Dafa practitioners' behavior and words of great compassion and great forbearance, and the suffering from the crude persecutions they had endured in validating Dafa. She changed her sympathy for the practitioners to admiration. Later, after knowing the existence of the book "Zhuan Falun" as the Great Law and that "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance" being the fundamental characteristics of the cosmic, she finally made up her mind to practice Falun Dafa. What follows is an account of a dream that Dahua had.
Dahua's Dream
One day, in Dahua's dream, a person gave her a book. She was very happy. Then, as she looked back, she saw many people coming to rob her of the book. She ran and ran, and got to the edge of a cliff over an ocean. She jumped off the cliff, swam to shore, and was free from the bad people chasing her. Upon her waking up, she realized that she had obtained the Fa, and thus acquired the hope to be saved. From that moment on, she memorized "Lunyu" and "Hongyin" with other practitioners whenever she had time, and also practiced once in a while.
Later on, a female Dafa practitioner was brought to the jail after being tortured by the evil "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems). Her face had many bruised areas; both her eyes were severely swollen, so swollen that her eyes appeared as two slits while her entire face was misshapen and covered with blisters. At seeing this practitioner's terrible condition, everyone in the cell could not help but to shed tears for her. In addition to physically torturing practitioners, the evil police and/or public security personnel also forced practitioners to renounce their faith, to curse Teacher, slander Dafa, and to step on and trample Teacher's portrait. A small group of practitioners could not endure the suffering, collapsed and did things against their will.
On the same day, in Dahua's dream, she saw a deity in an extraordinary high position in the heaven sobbing with tears streaming down. She was shocked, and very eager to know who it was. She tried very hard to look up and see but just to catch a glimpse. She could not understand what the dream meant after she awoke. Not until later, after she was forced to watch a video shown to discredit Dafa but which also contained Teacher's image, was she surprised and joyful that the deity in her dream was really Teacher. This confirmed her righteous belief in Dafa.
Dahua mentioned her dream to other practitioners during a cultivation experience sharing conversation after dinner. Her story helped those practitioners who had not done well to realize their shortcomings, as well as for them to catch up with others as soon as possible.
