(Clearwisdom.net) Recently the state-run media in Mainland China launched an all-out attack on Falun Dafa. Falun Dafa practitioners were represented as staging a "farce" when they exercised their legal right to file lawsuits against government officials who persecute them. Let us take a look at the issue: who is really staging a "farce?"
1. When a citizen initiates legal proceedings against somebody, that citizen is exercising his or her constitutional rights. The Chinese government used the full force and power of the state against a lawsuit of a civilian against the government. Can its intentions be lawful or correct?
2. If the government officials accused were innocent, why couldn't they use the legal process, be open and aboveboard, and step out sincerely and righteously to confront their accusers?
3. It is fair and reasonable for any person to file a lawsuit. When Falun Dafa practitioners' family members file a lawsuit, why doesn't the Chinese Government simply defend the lawsuit? Instead they use the police to arrest and stop the accusers? Why arrest people just for filing a lawsuit? How, then, should innocent people defend themselves?
It is the biggest farce of all to say that, "The government protects the people" when just and legal actions are not only not recognized or supported, but instead result in severe punishment. How long do the Chinese authorities think they can fool people by distorting the facts and muffling the people's voice? It is these acts that are actually the most absurd "farce!"
