I was born in a normal but very happy family. I am grateful for all the things which I received and learned from my parents especially for Falun Gong which I learned from my mother. My father once said to me, "I am sorry Cissy, that I can not provide you more." I smiled and said, "no, not at all. You have given me the most wonderful thing in the world, Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance."
I started to practise Falun Gong three years ago when I was still in China with my family. I would never forget that evening which I had a long discussion with my mother. She came to me and said, "wherever you are, whatever you do, you should consider others first. Nowadays, many people are based on selfishness and we should overcome it, be true and kind to all the people you meet, even to those who have hurt you. Look inside your heart and you'll find that the problem is there. This is what I have learned from Falun Gong." All these words have touched me deeply. From that moment Falun Gong opened the purest part of my heart. I started to practice Falun Gong together with my family.
I left China for my studies at the end of 1998. I was very surprised to find out that there are many people practising Falun Gong outside China even in Belgium. I was very happy to see that more and more people could benefit from the principles of Falun Gong.
But a horrible thing happened. July 1999, the Chinese government banned Falun Gong because of its great success in China, because anything which doesn't link to the communist ideology directly is not allowed there... I saw my friends get arrested, tortured, killed and even raped. I was deeply shocked by these acts of terrorism towards Falun Gong, this great spiritual practice. Everyday there are practitioners who die from this persecution. "What happened to the country I love, what happened to the leaders I used to trust?"
Because my parents practise Falun Gong, they are under great pressure. Police came almost every day to threaten them. They have no freedom, not even the basic human rights. In the end my parents decided to appeal with their hearts to the government to let them know what had happened. They knew that they might lose their lives for this but still they left home for Beijing as they couldn't believe that the government could do such a thing to its own people, to those who simply want to improve, want to be better people. They left home without any regrets because they knew Falun Gong is great and righteous.
They were both arrested when they appealed to the government. My mother was very badly tortured. She was beaten until she became blind and deaf. Her whole body was black and blue. The policemen even used electric shock batons until she lost consciousness. My mother said to me, "I could never believe how evil they are until I was there."
My heart was bleeding when I heard the story of my parents. The people I love are tortured, many of whom died for their belief; the country I love is being controlled by evil people; and the culture I love is being destroyed. I don't know what else I can say to let the world notice the pain in our hearts, to let the world be aware of this injustice. Two years have passed. Facing this inhuman persecution, the practitioners still keep on trying, appealing with peace in their heart, including my dear parents. I am very proud of them because they are true to themselves, because they still stand tall in front of this evil. Practitioners in China have sacrificed all what they used to have simply for the truth! Practitioners outside China are doing everything possible just to reveal the truth! We will keep on appealing with our hearts to your hearts.
It is like what Mr. Sacredeus Lennart, an MEP from Sweden said at our rally in Brussels "the world needs the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." I thank all the people who have shown their great support of Falun Gong and the practitioners. It might be just words to you, but it could save millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China from being tortured, killed and even raped.
