On 18th October the Foreign Minister, Anna Lind, answered citizens' questions. The focus of the questions was the terrorist attacks in the USA.
As a Falun Gong practitioner, I asked, "I appreciate the chance to bring up the human rights issues in China. If I were in China now I could be under arrest and enduring serious torture. Even if I lost my life the Chinese authorities would claim that I committed suicide. I would like to thank you for your constant support to the Falun Gong practitioners. At the moment, the Swedish government is focusing on the terrorist attacks in the USA, and the war between the USA and Afghanistan. What is the government's view on Falun Gong issues now?"
The foreign minister said with a smile, "You do not have the chance to talk about Falun Gong issues in China yourselves, but I do, and I will bring them up. At the moment we are not only focused on international terrorism issues, but also on China's human rights records. The Swedish government will not compromise at all. We will not forget China's serious human rights problems, nor will we forget Falun Gong."
