(Clearwisdom.net) Jiang Ruiqin, female, 57 years old, went to Beijing to validate Dafa on January 5, 2001 and was arrested at Tiananmen Square. She was illegally detained in Beijing for 6 days and beaten by the evil police with electric batons. After being escorted back [to Harbin City], she was released only after she was extorted 240 Yuan [The monthly wage of an average urban worker in China is 500 Yuan.] by her work unit and 3000 Yuan by a policeman whose last name is Yu, from Xuanqing Police Station.

Zhang Yan, female, 64 years old, went to Beijing to validate Dafa in December 2000. She was sent to Fangshan District Police Department in Beijing. She witnessed illegally detained practitioners who refused to reveal their addresses being kicked and beaten by the police with electric batons. Some were burned with cigarettes and handcuffed and shackled. Later, she was sent back to Harbin City and was illegally detained again for 45 days. She was extorted 2000 Yuan by the director of the police station and 3000 Yuan by policeman Zhang Guofang from Dongli District Police Department.

Xin Chun, female, 27 years old, was arrested because she was reported to have been studying the Fa at home. As she was 6 months pregnant, she was released after being extorted 500 Yuan by Luu Yanjiang and Feng Zhengjun from Wenzheng Police Station in Dongli District. The police station ordered her landlord to drive her out and make her move out right away, causing her to lose 3200 Yuan of rent. All her Dafa books and videotapes were taken away. In October 2000, she went to Beijing to validate Dafa and was arrested at Tiananmen Square. She was escorted back after being illegally detained for 3 days. Because she was about to give birth, she was not sent to the detention center, but was monitored at home instead. On May 16, 2001, she was arrested because she distributed truth-clarifying materials. She was illegally detained in a police station for 48 hours. Because she was breast-feeding, she was released home but closely monitored. A lot of Dafa books and materials were taken away. They persecuted her in this way until she was forced to leave her home and now she has no permanent place to live.

Qi Yulin, female, 55 years old, went to Beijing to validate Dafa on October 6, 2000. She was arrested and sent to Xicheng District Detention Center in Beijing. Because she refused to reveal her address, she was brutally beaten by Zhang Hongwu, Wang Xiongguang and two other policemen around 2:00 a.m. on October 7. Zhang Hongwu forced her to reveal her address by twisting her arm. He hurt the nerve in her arm leading to muscular atrophy and the loss of mobility. She was illegally detained for 5 days and was extorted 180 Yuan. The police from Qincheng District Police Department in Tianshui City extorted another 2000 Yuan from her.

Wang Jixian, female, 45 years old, visited the provincial museum in June 2000 where drawings that slandered Falun Dafa were exhibited. After her visit, she wrote down her opinion on the visitors' book and exposed the evil lies of Jiang Zemin's group. After being found and detained by an evil thug, the police station was informed to fetch her back. Policeman Su Yujiang extorted 800 Yuan from her without giving a receipt.

Li Lirong, female, 41 years old, visited the provincial museum in June 2000 where drawings that slandered Falun Dafa were exhibited. She was illegally detained because she wrote down her opinion on the visitors' book and exposed the evil lies of Jiang Zemin's group. Su Yujiang from Xuanxi Police Station extorted more than 100 Yuan from her.

Zhang Shuhai, male, 46 years old, was illegally detained by Taiping Detention Center for one month. He suffered inhuman torture and was beaten mercilessly until he was covered with cuts and bruises. He was extorted 2000 Yuan by Li Dibin from the Politics and Security Section of Beitaiping Police Department.

Shi Jialin, male, 48 years old, was asked to move out of Harbin City with his family by the police station during the spring festival of 2000 just because his family "practices Falun Gong." His family was thus forced to move four times. He was extorted 2000 Yuan by policeman Wang Jingquan from Tuanjie Police Station.

Tao Yanfang, female, 51 years old, went to Beijing to appeal on February 8, 2000. She was illegally detained at Taiping Detention Center. On December 2, 2000 she went to Beijing again to appeal and was illegally detained at the Detention Center of Nan'gang Police Department. She was detained a total of 126 days on both occasions. She was extorted 3500 Yuan by policemen Wang Zhongcheng and Liu Yongsheng from Taiping Railway Engine Police Station, 3000 Yuan by policeman Liu Ximing from Nan'gang Police Department, 1200 Yuan by policeman Liu Kan from Nan'gang Police Department. She suffered inhuman torture during this period and the evil persons inflicted a lot of pain on her and her family.

Zhang Shuqing, female, 64 years old, was illegally detained on June 23, 2000 at the Detention Center of Dongli Police Department for 13 days because she practiced Falun Gong at home. She was extorted 2000 Yuan by policeman Yang Shouyi from the Politics and Security Section of Dongli Police Department. She was arrested in November 2000 when she went to Tiananmen Square to rectify the Fa. She was illegally detained in Beijing for 13 days and then escorted back to be illegally detained at Dongli Detention Center. She was forced go through brainwashing sessions and suffered various kinds of torture. She was extorted 1000 Yuan by Zhou Chunjie from the Politics and Security Section of Dongli Police Department. The police also illegally confiscated her family's property several times.

Liu Baolin, male, 53 years old, was illegally arrested by Liu Da from Daqing Police Station when he was distributing truth-clarifying materials on a public bus heading for Daqing City on November 9, 2000. He was sent to Dongli Detention Center and illegally detained for 145 days. His family property was confiscated, including a personal computer, which was stolen by the police for their personal usage. He was sent for forced labor twice but was not admitted by high level officials. On April 2, 2001, he was extorted 5000 Yuan by Yang Shouyi from the Politics and Security Section from Dongli Police Department, 4500 Yuan by Li Zhiwu from the Provincial Water Conservation and Construction Bureau, and 4 months of his wages were withheld.

Liang Shulan, female, 53 years old, went to Beijing to validate Dafa on May 11, 2000. On the way, the police on the train illegally ransacked her luggage and she was imprisoned in the detention center for 42 days on groundless accusations. Her identification card was seized by the police station. She was extorted 3000 Yuan by the evil person Li Jiewang from the retirement office of her unit.

Liu Xiufen, female, 50 years old, went to Beijing to appeal on June 29, 2000. She was illegally detained for 5 days by the local government's liaison office in Beijing. Then she was sent back to Daoli Detention Center and illegally detained for another 62 days. She was extorted 3500 Yuan, and the police also extorted 200 Yuan for gasoline expenses and 2666 Yuan for boarding expenses from her family. On December 7, 2000, she went to Beijing again to safeguard the Fa. She unfurled a banner at Tiananmen Square. Four policemen beat her severely as though they had lost their senses until she could no longer stand up after being knocked onto the ground. She was then carried into a police car and sent to Qianmen Police Station. There, two evil policemen slapped her on the face, and punched and kicked her, but she refused to reveal her name and address. Later on, she was illegally detained at Qingyundian Police Station in the suburbs. The police tried to compel her to reveal her address by not letting her sleep at all for the whole night and making her stand outside in the freezing cold for half an hour. After that, she began a hunger strike. She was released unconditionally after she went on hunger strike for 6 days while sitting on a wooden chair.

Zhang Fubin, male, 39 years old, went to Beijing to appeal on December 3, 2000. He was arrested and sent back to Harbin City. He was illegally detained at Taiping Detention Center for more than 20 days. It was only after he was extorted 6000 Yuan by Xinyi Police Station and over 20,000 Yuan by the police from Taiping Police Department, that he was released.

Dong Jing, female, 34 years old, went to Beijing to rectify the Fa and was illegally arrested on November 24, 2000. She was sent back to Harbin City and detained at Guxiang Detention Center for 45 days. During this period, she was extorted 800 Yuan by the police for various photo fees and 1600 Yuan by the factory security police based on groundless accusations. The local government official often invaded her home to harass her and try to force her to write things such as guarantee letters [e.g. not to practice Falun Gong]. Local police often went to her home to harass her too, causing severe disruption to her family's normal life.

Feng Xiuling, female, 49 years old, went to Beijing to appeal in February 2000. She was illegally arrested in Beijing and sent back to Harbin No. 2 Detention Center. She was illegally detained for 24 days. She was extorted 4000 Yuan by Xinyi Police Station. At 10:30 p.m. January 20, 2001, she was dragged away by eight evil policemen from Nan'gang Dacheng Police Station. She had no time to put on her coat and trousers before being sent to Harbin No. 2 Detention Center. There she was detained for two and a half months. She was released after being extorted 6000 Yuan by the police.

Wang Cheng, male, 32 years old, went to Beijing to validate Dafa at the end of 2000. He was arrested by Beijing police and escorted back by people from the security section of his work unit and the local police station. He was illegally detained in a room on the second floor of the factory where several persons were assigned to watch over him. When these evil persons were doing the paperwork to send him to the detention center, just before the police car came, he jumped down from the window of the second floor, ran out of the yard and hailed a taxi that happened to be nearby. Unable to return home, he has been forced into homelessness and his salary was also withheld.
