[Northeastern China] A Practitioner Goes to Beijing to Validate Dafa and Returns Safely
A practitioner from a city in the northeastern region of China enlightened that he should continue to appeal to the government while clarifying the truth, and at the same time fulfill the vows he made before history. On October 19, he steadfastly headed for Beijing and on the morning of next day he arrived at Tiananmen Square, which was covered in a heavy mist. He shouted "Falun Dafa is good!" with all his heart, shaking heaven and earth. He then hung up a Falun Dafa banner on the bushes on the east side of Tiananmen Square and left with composure. He returned home safely on October 21.
[Baicheng City, Jilin Province] Police Unjustly Take Away a Practitioner's Relatives Because They Are Unable to Capture the Practitioner
On September 14, unjust police from Jilin Province Baicheng City Police Department broke into the home of Song Shujie. She is not a Falun Dafa practitioner, but her elder sister is. They took her and her husband Li Ming away, leaving their eighty-year-old parent and their teenage child at home by themselves. After her husband was detained for more than half a month, his family had to pay more than 3,000 Yuan RMB (about half a year's income for an urban worker in China) to get him released. Song Shujie, however, is still being detained.

[Northwest Region of China] People Who Know the Truth about Falun Gong Take the Initiative to Take Down Slanderous Materials
Recently, a practitioner in the Northwest became very anxious after seeing sinister people posting a lot of materials slandering Falun Dafa in his neighborhood. He thought that he could not allow the evil to vilify Dafa in this way and that he must eliminate it. He then distributed a lot of truth-clarifying literature and VCD's in his neighborhood. Two days afterwards, the awakened residents tore down the slanderous materials.
[Northwestern China] Powerful Righteous Thoughts Shock the Evil
Practitioners in a city in Northwestern China used various means to clarify the truth as they send forth powerful righteous thoughts. They have posted a lot of truth-clarifying literature in the city and in remote areas. In some places such materials can be seen everywhere; this has greatly shocked the local evil forces.
Before they set out to clarify the truth, the practitioners send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all the evil forces in that area. Then they proceed to hang banners, put up posters, and hand out Dafa literature openly and uprightly. From time to time, passersby stop to watch momentarily. All the evil factors were inhibited.
Not long ago, local authorities held an exhibition slandering Falun Dafa in a shopping square. Practitioners used various methods to inhibit the evil. A woman and her daughter made a lot of little yellow flags showing the truth regarding Falun Dafa. They put the yellow flags all around the square. This powerfully eliminated the evil in other dimensions.
[Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Posters are Seen All Throughout a City in Hebei
Recently in the business district and in the suburb of a city in Hebei province, Falun Dafa posters with phrases such as "Falun Dafa is Good," "Falun Dafa Rectifies Human Hearts," "Falun Dafa Can Not Be Humiliated," "The Propaganda about Falun Dafa on TV and in Newspapers Are All Lies," or "Restore Innocence to Falun Dafa" can be seen everywhere. Practitioners also distributed a lot of truth-clarifying literature to residents in the city.
The emergence of the large amount of literature that clarifies the truth about the cruel persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners has become a popular topic for the residents in that area. Under the terror and despotic power of Jiang Zemin's regime, people are dissatisfied and are indignant towards the state terrorism that Jiang's regime employs to cruelly suppress its people. The popular topics they often talk about are: Why does the government not arrest the bad people, but only arrest the good people? Why do all the Falun Gong practitioners do well in their work unit, family and society? Why is it that the propaganda on TV and in the newspapers does not match the practitioners' actual actions? Why hasn't the suppression achieved much over the last two years? Why is it that nowadays people all pursue fame and self-interest, but the Falun Dafa practitioners steadfastly cultivate "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and always think of others before themselves? Why are these practitioners not afraid of being dismissed from the CCP, or of being fired from their work units, or of being detained, sentenced or of having their lives threatened, but instead they want to validate that their Falun Gong is good? People are gradually awakening.
[Development District, Dalian City] Extremely Vicious Police
Around 2 -- 3 p.m. on October 11, 2001, six policemen (only one in uniform) from the Gaochengshan police station in the Wanli County Subdivision, Dalian Development District broke into practitioner Cen Lifen's home. One policeman said: "Give us your stuff immediately or we will turn your home upside down." The police took away Cen and her husband, who is not a practitioner. They illegally ransacked Cen's home and took away Falun Dafa books, videotapes, audiotapes and a Walkman. Cen and her husband were illegally held for 7 hours. Afterwards, Cen was sent to Yaojia Detention Center. One week later, when Cen's relative went to the police station for her, the vicious police claimed that they had to submit 100,000 Yuan RMB before they would release her. (100,000 Yuan is an astronomical amount for an average family in China where the monthly income is around 500 Yuan or less.)
[Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Exposing The Crimes Conducted By Wujiapuzi Re-Education Center
Huang Wei is the supervisor of Wujiapuzi Re-education Center in Fushun City, Liaoning Province. Under his direction, police officer Guan Zhenhe (this evil person has already received retribution for his evil deeds), a few additional officers took two male Dafa practitioners, Yang Yanhui and Meng Fanqiang who were firm with their beliefs in Dafa, to a female cell, tied them to beds, and used a needle to stab their bodies in order to change their belief on Dafa. Seeing both practitioners firm and determined, Huang Wei did not allow them to go back to the male cells, and ordered other officers to continue the torture. The torture lasted for about a full day and night. By the time the two practitioners were sent back to male cells, both of them were not even able to move. It took three to four months for both of them to recover their mobility.
This Re-education Center had a so-called "high conversion rate" because all kinds of tortures and abuses were applied to the practitioners inside. Jiang Zemin highly admired the methods of this center, ordering other labor camps to learn form this center, and even told other labor camps to send practitioners who were firm and determined to this center.
As the result, many practitioners were sent to this center from other labor camps. Vicious cruelty was brutally conducted while the local TV station reported on their "patient and thorough education." Huang Wei became famous and was even promoted.
Nevertheless, Dafa is unshakable.
Practitioner Li Hong was transferred from Fuxin Re-education Center, and was originally kept on the third floor of the building. The officers on the third could not brainwash her. She was then transferred to the second floor. Officer Chen Linghua on the second floor asked many inmates on the second floor to torment her, in an attempt to artificially change her beliefs in Dafa. The torture continued for 24 hours, but no form of suffering could change her steadfast belief. Huang Wei, Chen Linghua and Jiang Yongfeng then together tortured Li Hong for many hours. But Li Hong eventually came through all the abuses with a conclusion in her own words: I still kept my pure heart to Dafa.
Many other practitioners such as Huang Guirong (has been through both Masanjia, and Wujiapuzi Re-education Centers) and eight other practitioners, overcame all the hardships with their unshakable faith.
[Baicheng City, Jilin Province] Warning To Local Officials Of Yaobei District
Local government officials of Yaobei District have made advertisements on TV lately that offered an award of 1,500 to 5,000 Yuan to those who would help to catch the practitioners distributing leaflets and painting words on walls. They also asked elementary school students to paint over the words painted by the practitioners. Their behavior will not only send themselves to the hell in the future, but will also drag down many innocent lives.
It is hereby our intent to warn those officials continuously conducting illegal and evil activities against Dafa: there is no excuse for the persecution. All of your wrongful behavior will become the hard evidence against yourselves in the time when Fa is rectified. You are advised to stop the illegal persecution of Falun Gong so that you will have a better future.
[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Warning To The Police Conducting Unlawful Activities At North Train Station
At the exit of Shenyang North Train Station, a Dafa practitioner was searched by the security without a warrant on Oct. 14, 2001. The police took from the practitioner two books: Zhuan Falun and Essentials for Further Advancement, as well as two articles of Teacher, a copy machine with estimated value of 7,200 Yuan, 1,500 Yuan in cash, one Nokia cell phone, one pager, and a leather bag. The practitioner was illegally detained on the third floor of the train station police station. Without any legal process, the practitioner was questioned and then sent to Shenyang Railroad Detention Center at about 6 p.m. The practitioner did not cooperate with the police from the very beginning. After four days of hunger strike in the detention center, he got out with his righteous thoughts.
We hereby warn all people conducting similar illegal activities that Falun Dafa is the Fa of the universe, and to cultivate Dafa is an incomparably righteous thing. The money of Dafa practitioners is to be used to save people and other sentient beings. It is the biggest sin to take money and to take advantage of Dafa practitioners. Please take into consideration the future of yourselves and your families, and quit this kind of behavior. Good is rewarded with good and evil is met with evil. Everyone eventually gets his or her just rewards.
[Sichuan Province] Local Officials Extort Money From Dafa Practitioners
On July 5, 2001, about 15 practitioners in some areas of Sichuan Province were arrested when validating Dafa to the public. Three of them were soon bailed out. Five of them were later bailed out by their families after suffering from nearly unbearable physical torture for more than two months. Others are still under detention and subject to vicious cruelty because their families cannot afford to bail them out.
The evil force manipulated bad people to beat good people, and even to beat senior citizens much older than the police officers' own mothers, and to make money from Dafa practitioners under all different fabricated chargeable means such as fines, bail, deposits, etc. They treated Dafa practitioners just like cash cows: all practitioners were fined from one to five thousand Yuan. Their choices were either to pay the money or be sentenced to jail. Their greed was satisfied through the persecution. Some poor practitioners' families could not afford to pay the money, and had to stay in jail while they had sick families who needed their care, and farmlands that needed their work. But those local officials never cared about these circumstances. They have completely no moral conscience.
[Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] The Abuses in Manzhouli Detention Center
Manzhouli Detention Center of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has very bad living conditions. There is only one bed, about 1.8 meters by 4 meters, in each cell, which is little more than ten square meters. In each cell about twelve to fourteen inmates are kept. At the time, each male cell had only one Dafa practitioner and all others were criminals. One meal per day was provided, dark flour dough bread (less than 200 grams) with some dark, dirty vegetable soup. Dirt and small insects could always be found in the food. The nutrition was insufficient. The criminals were allowed to get food from their families outside of the jails, but the practitioners were not allowed to. Practitioners were not allowed to do their exercises, and were watched by their criminal inmates all the time. Because they did the exercises of Falun Dafa in prison, two female practitioners were forced to wear instruments of torture that is reserved only for criminals who committed serious crimes.
