-- at yesterday's Day of Peace and Compassion at Nathan Philips Square.
Toronto practitioners organized a Peace and Compassion Festival for the Toronto community in front of the Toronto City Hall on Saturday November 3, 2001 to celebrate the values and principles that have shaped our world for the better.
According to the working staff at the City Hall, over 1,000 Torontonians and out of town tourists came and enjoyed the festival, despite the cool weather. Several major media gave excellent coverage of the event, including the Toronto Star.
A reporter and a photographer of the Toronto Star came and stayed for several hours enjoying the festival. The following photo report shows the over 300 paper doves practitioners made, each symbolizing a Falun Dafa practitioner killed in China. Later on, several dozen live white doves were released into the sky, memorializing these practitioners who have given their lives with determination, peace and dignity.
