During the period of Fa-rectification, every Dafa disciple is duty-bound to assist Teacher in the human world. So then, the question we need to ask is, can we say that we are actually rectifying the Fa just because we are involved in doing things for Fa-rectification? And can we neglect to look within ourselves just because we are doing things for Fa-rectification? Doing things for Fa-rectification is great in itself, but we should do it with even more care and take it even more seriously. Every bit we have obtained through striving forward diligently in our cultivation is reflected in everything that we have done well. On the other hand, when we have not done well in validating Dafa and clarifying the truth of Dafa and we encounter one obstacle after another, it is a good opportunity for us to look within ourselves to rectify any elements that are not righteous. If we don't use these precious opportunities to improve ourselves, but instead persist in blaming and complaining about others for not understanding or not cooperating with us, or if we stubbornly want to correct others in the name of doing things for Fa-rectification but fail to rectify ourselves, then how can we do things well? How can that be rectifying the Fa?
When we point out to a fellow practitioner that he has been taken advantage of by the evil due to his omissions in cultivation, are we truly helping him dig out the roots of these omissions from within the principles of the Fa? Out of our human attachments, are we inclined to dwell upon his faults with great eagerness, complain about the loss that he has caused, resent the compromises he has made in the face of evil, or perhaps simply just exclude him? Aren't the vicious old forces making use of this kind of behavior? Isn't Teacher waiting again and again for these disciples to make up for the loss they have caused and to catch up with the process of Fa-rectification? Why should we push them away from us? At the present time, we may still have many attachments such as being attached to worldly ways of doing things, being overly critical, complaining, or being resentful, etc., so when we see that others have not done things well, we cannot neglect to rectify ourselves when we correct them. We should rectify all that is not righteous, including warped notions and various attachments that are harbored deep in our hearts.
Only when we are pure and righteous ourselves can we play a positive role in Fa-rectification. This is similar to the process of sending forth righteous thoughts, where we begin by cleaning out bad thoughts and ideas, karma, bad notions, and external interference from our minds. Only with pure attitudes can we do things well. "The Buddha light illuminates everywhere/ Proprietary and justice rectify and harmonize everything." [from Master's book of poems, Hong Yin, "In Harmony with the Fa," unofficial translation] As Dafa disciples amidst Fa-rectification, let's manifest this!
