A 52 year-old male practitioner from Hebei Province, his name unknown, went to Tiananmen on Jan 18, 2001. He wrote with a piece of chalk on a carton: "Falun Dafa is the Great Law," and successfully displayed it in Tiananmen Square. Following his action, seven to eight policemen surrounded him knocking him to the ground and began to beat him. After being beaten he was thrown into a van. While in the van, a policeman beat him his body with a wooden club, and then used a rubber club with a serrated edge preventing the practitioner from shouting out: "Falun Dafa is Good. " Badly injured, he couldn't close his mouth until now.
He was taken to the Tiananmen Police Station, there, because he refused to reveal his name and address, he was assaulted, the police beat him on his back and his lower body and for three days he received no water or food only severe beatings. These policemen resorted to making him lie on the ground and pounded him with another practitioner's body. As a result, up until now he still feels that his chest is blocked and sunken. Also a policeman stepped on his hand and ground it against the floor, which left a two-inch-length bruise; he is still unable to lift his swollen hand (see the picture). Finally towards the end of his torture he received a shot to his head and lost consciousness. He regained consciousness in a first aid center in Beijing.
On Jan 22, 2001, some policemen came from his hometown to return him, he was so weak he was barely able to breath, and was too frail to even accept some water. Afraid of being blamed, local police asked his family to carry him home and also requested nearly 2000 Yuan (Chinese dollars, about four month salary of an averaged worker in cities of China) to release him. These pictures were taken on Jan 25, the third day after his release. They are solid proof of the deplorable acts of violence of those vicious policemen.
