[Fengrun County, Hebei Province] A Recent Development in Fengrun County
Recently, the authorities at Fengrun County in Hebei Province forced all practitioners to express their attitudes toward Dafa and forced them to write a report of their opinions. Those who refused to write would be sent to "Transformation Schools." The TV station also broadcast slanderous programs about Dafa many times.
Days ago, some elementary schools of that county told every pupil to write an article about Falun Dafa. [Note: This is not a chance for pupils to express their opinions freely. If anyone expresses the opinion that Falun Dafa is good, he or she would receive a "Failing" grade as well as other punishments.] Actually, this is to force every pupil to defame Dafa. The authorities will not even spare these na ve pupils from participating in the suppression of the practitioners.
[Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Authorities Use "Self-Immolation" As an Excuse to Arrest More Practitioners
After the "self-immolation" incident in Tiananmen Square, tension was high in Kaifeng City. The authorities ordered all practitioners in Kaifeng City who are still practicing Falun Gong to attend "Transformation Sessions" no matter whether they had been to Beijing before or not. In the urban area, about one thousand practitioners were rounded up for "transformation." The so-called "Transformation Session" is just another name for long-term illegal detention giving the authorities time to achieve their aim.
The authorities are using such shameless means to make false charges against innocent practitioners. We hope all people with a righteous heart will step forth and say a word of fairness on behalf of truth and justice.
Further note: a practitioner in Kaifeng City sent out this information. The information is reliable. Unfortunately, police taped the phone conversation and the practitioner was arrested the next day. We still don't know where the practitioner is detained.
[XX City, Northern China] Practitioners Hang Up Dafa Banners during the Lantern Festival
During the Lantern Festival season (around Feb. 7th), XX City in north China organized a three-day Lantern Festival celebration. Two practitioners decided to hang up some banners on the night of February 7th while taking a walk. That night, a lot of security guards and plainclothes mingled among the crowds. Policemen were standing along the streets and many police cars were parked at the corners. Even under such tough conditions, the practitioners hung up several banners. The banners also had the Teacher's statement that practitioners were not allowed to kill any lives. One of the banners was hung to the left of city hall. Many people stopped to read the contents of these banners.
This action mounted a strong response to police threats. It is one firm step on the way of telling the truth to people. We hope more practitioners will step forth and follow the Fa rectification process.
Another report says that some banners were seen on highway bridges. People in that city saw "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance" and "Falun Dafa Is Good" again.
[YY City, Northern China] Senior Practitioners Outperform Young Ones in Assisting the Teacher to Rectify the Fa
In YY City northern China, two senior practitioners posted flyers and distributed Dafa materials in the street during the daytime without fear to better tell the truth about Falun Gong to people. Once, the old man was placing a flyer on a public phone booth. The old lady told him: "The man selling milk saw you." The old man answered: "My heart is righteous. It won't matter." They walked forward about 100 feet and turned back to see what happened to the flyer. They saw the man selling milk was reading it.
By their actions, the two senior practitioners have handed to our Teacher a satisfactory answer to the questions about the ongoing test on Dafa practitioners. They are braver and wiser, to some extent, than our young people.
[Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Daqing City Plans To Arrest Dafa Practitioners On a Large Scale
From reliable sources, the 6.10 Office of Daqing City is preparing to carry out the orders from higher authorities to take a coordinated action to arrest and imprison practitioners in the city (those practitioners who have been registered at police sub-stations, street offices, and their work units).
[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] News from Wuhan City
Wuhan police authorities have resorted to the measure of rewarding 1,000 Yuan for informing the police about Falun Gong practitioners' activities (the average monthly salary in urban areas in China is only 500 Yuan). However, good-hearted people have already become tired of this kind of perverse behavior, and they think that the government is spending taxpayers' hard earned money to arrest good people.
Also, during the period when the National People's Congress and the National People's Consultative Conference were convening, police in Wuhan adopted approaches to deceive Falun Gong practitioners. For example, they called practitioners to police sub-stations to explain certain situations. But as soon as practitioners got there, they were officially arrested and put under illegal custody for an extended period of time.

Zeng Jianxin, male, 38 years old, resides at 226 Tidong Street, Baishazhou Street, Wuchang District. He was put in custody on November 23, 2000, and it was announced that he was under arrest the next day.
Yan Qicheng, male, 60 years old, from Hanchuan City, Hubei Province, resides at 269 Lujia Street Room 7 Building 4, Baishazhou Street, Wuchang District, Wuhan City.
Wang Zhengshun, male, 52 years old, from Wuhan City, resides at 7-1 Xiaoshan Ji, Ziyang Street, Wuchang District, Wuhan City.
Wu Zhigao, male, 58 years old, resides at Room 1 Building 2, Nanhu New Village, Ziyang Street, Wuchang District, Wuhan City.
Liu Dinggang, male, 42 years old, from Wuhan City, resides at Room 11, 91-023 Guanshan Road, Hongshan District.
Zhang Lianjie, male, from Wuhan City, resides at 71-9 Tujiagou, Baishazhou Street, Wuchang District.
[Beijing and Hebei Province] News from Beijing and Neighboring Hebei Province
Beijing Dafa practitioner Gao Guolan was sent to labor camp for photocopying and distributing truth clarifying Dafa materials. Practitioner Gao Huayan from Yining, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, who was arrested at the same time, was sentenced to 1 year of forced labor education.
1. Liu Tianlai and Li Fenglan, a couple, who are Dafa practitioners in Chengde City, Hebei Province, were both detained on "criminal charges" prior to New Year's Day, and their home was ransacked. Dafa practitioner Tong Jianxin was taken away from the work place to the police sub-station and is currently being held in Chengde Detention Center.
2. Practitioner Xue Fengling of Chaoyang District in Beijing was detained in Chaoyang Police Sub-Bureau for 34 days for distributing truth-clarifying materials. Since January 14, Xue has been living under tight surveillance, and is not allowed to walk out of his family quarters of the Agricultural Exhibition Center.
3. Illegal persecution of Dafa practitioners in Maizidian area in Chaoyang District, Beijing.
Since April 25, 1999, Dafa practitioners in Maizidian area have experienced an irrational persecution. Local authorities hired gangsters to interfere with practitioners' normal exercises, which set up the precedence of persecuting Dafa for the entire nation. In the past year or so, the persecution has escalated to an even greater extent. During every holiday season or on other sensitive dates, Maizidian police sub-station will put the Dafa practitioners in its jurisdiction under surveillance, custody or detention based on criminal charges. They forced Kou Guihuan and Wang Xiaoping to flee home. Liu Shuwen, Zhang Xiufang, Li Ju and many other Dafa practitioners have been illegally detained numerous times.
Examples: Female Dafa practitioner Liu Shuwen is 62 years old; the police ransacked her home on October 29, 1999 and took away her cassette player without giving a reason. On every so-called "sensitive date", she would be taken away by the police sub-station and remained under custody for 1 to 3 days. During other normal periods, security and joint neighborhood watch personnel would closely monitor her. Sometimes during the night, these people would knock on the door many times to ask if the senior lady is at home, inflicting severe mental pain on her.
Dafa practitioner Li Ju, female, 46 years old, was taken away by the police sub-station on July 20, 2000, and held illegally for 2 days. From October 4 to October 7, as well as during the New Year's Day holiday season, several security guards brought chairs and overcoats with them and came on duty outside Li Ju's home. Li's daughter who is in middle school was extremely nervous because of this and her schoolwork has suffered seriously.
[Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Dafa Practitioners in Tianhe District of Guangzhou City Are Deceived and Put Under House Arrest
Starting January 3, 2001, Tianhe district of Guangzhou city detained 9 Dafa practitioners in succession to setup a "transformation class." Actually it was illegal detention in the name of a "transformation class." The Public Security Bureau whose responsibility is to protect regional security went so far as to deceive Dafa practitioners from their workplaces or homes to come to the "transformation class" regardless of their individual situations.
Among the 9 Dafa practitioners, 7 were taken from their workplaces or homes. One Dafa practitioner's husband had undergone an operation and had been in the hospital only 3 days. When the Dafa practitioner tried going to the hospital to take care of her husband, she was arrested on the way. Another Dafa practitioner was forced to send her 12-year-old child to stay at a friend's home. However, her friend is no longer willing to sit with her child, and she doesn't know how to deal with this situation. Another Dafa practitioner was arrested when her grandson was barely 50 days old. Her daughter could not take care of herself and her newborn baby at the same time. This practitioner's mother is 87 years old and is suffering from severe heart disease. She also has an 88-years-old mother-in-law to take care of. To avoid making the two elder people worry about the practitioner, they have not been told the news of her arrest. Nobody knows how to break the news to them. Yet another practitioner was deceived by being told to go downstairs to "have a chat" before New Year's Day. When she went downstairs, she found a vehicle waiting there, and 3 policemen and security officers forcibly carried her into the vehicle and sent her to the so-called "transformation class." Her mother had passed away just 2 days before and the funeral procession had not been held yet.
Presently there are only 5 Dafa practitioners in this "transformation class," yet there are over 30 guards watching over them.
[Shanghai City] Situation of the Persecution against Dafa Practitioners in Shanghai City
Pan Deqing, 56 years old, was arrested on November 18, 2000 for distributing Dafa materials in other places in the country and was escorted back to Shanghai. She was illegally detained for 2 months and sentenced to one and half years' forced labor education.
Fei Pengzhen, a 56-years-old retired teacher, was arrested in July 2000 for distributing Dafa materials. The court held the first trial on November 14, 2000. Now over 2 months have passed and there is still no judgment. [Note:Usually a judgment will be made public in about 15 days after the first trial.]
Wang Aiwu, female, was sentenced to one year' forced labor education for exchanging cultivation experience at her home.
Shen Fang, female, over 50 years old, was arrested for distributing Dafa materials and sentenced to one and half years' forced labor education.
Wang Chenxiang, female, over 50 years old, was arrested for distributing Dafa materials. Her current condition is unknown.
Cai X, female, was arrested for distributing Dafa materials in June 2000 and sentenced to one year' forced labor education.
9 Dafa practitioners including elder Liu from Shanghai, Liu's daughter-in-law, Dai Zhiying, Li Weiling, Little Yang (from other places in the country) were arrested in Shandong province in the end of December 2000. Their current condition is unknown.
According to reliable sources: before Spring Festival, Shanghai city started to hold "transformation classes" on a large scale from January 18 to 23. (The scheduled number of participants of the classes is 300.) The duration of the classes are between 2 and 6 months.

[Mainland China] Dafa Suffers Such an Injustice That It Snows In June
Last summer, I went to Beijing to validate Dafa and the police sent me back to my hometown. During the interrogation, I declared that Dafa is blameless and severely rebuked Jiang Zemin and his accomplices for their slandering and sabotaging of Falun Dafa. While I was speaking, huge snowflakes came out from the air conditioning twice. I told the policemen interrogating me:" As you can see, it is snowing in June, which is an indication of serious injustice. If you still follow Jiang Zemin in persecuting Dafa and Dafa practitioners, you surely will receive retribution for your evil-doing in the future." This made quite an impact on the people in my hometown, and all the policemen are talking about it. Consequently, they dare not to persecute Dafa practitioners excessively anymore.
