To all who have the opportunity to read this letter:
Warmest greetings! Please accept my apology if I am disturbing you. I have some very important things to tell you and I humbly ask you to spend just a little bit of your valuable time to read this letter.
My name is Fang Jingpu. I am a female Dafa practitioner living in Hebei Province. After exercising my legal right to appeal in Beijing, I was arrested in October 2000. Since then I have been in jail at the 4th Unit in the Shijiazhuang City Labor Camp.
A profound dream took place during the night before I obtained the Fa in April 1997. While asleep, three glittery golden characters, "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" suddenly appeared in my mind. The whole room then lit up. A brilliant red light burst out of the window. After another flash of bright light the room became dark again. I turned on the light and looked at the clock. It was 3am. The next day, a neighbor of mine brought the book "Zhuan Falun" and introduced Falun Gong to me. That was how I miraculously obtained the Fa.
I used to have serious neurasthenia and ulcers. Chronic illness kept me feeling tense and insecure. I often lost my temper, and people avoided me. On the 6th day after I started to practice Dafa, I slept soundly through the whole night. I felt unbelievably relaxed and symptoms of my other ailments disappeared as well. My temperament changed for the better. I honestly relished how wonderful and fortunate it is to be a healthy person. My family was overjoyed: "Since you learned Falun Gong, you have completely transformed yourself."
From that point on I took over the main responsibility of taking care of my family's chicken farm business. We raised more than 3,000 chickens. I worked from morning to night, often sleeping for only 4-5 hours each day. In my off hours I practiced and studied the Fa with the rest of the group and never felt tired. On the contrary, my facial complexion was healthy and radiant. I felt energetic and walked as effortlessly as the wind.
After July 20, 1999 Jiang Zemin and his gang brought boundless tribulations to Dafa, and they also brought endless torment and suffering to tens of millions Falun Dafa practitioners. I went to appeal in Beijing in February 2000. I was illegally arrested and sent back to the local detention center. I was put behind bars for one whole month. The police extorted a 6,000 yuan "bail" from my family in exchange for my release. At the same time due to the lack of care, our chicken farm lost four to five hundred chickens due to diseases.
Upon returning home, I was reading "Zhuan Falun" while taking my break. Without my knowing it, I started reading using Mandarin (translator note: Chinese official language). I could not figure out how that came about. I tried to deliberately read with my local dialect, but again I changed into Mandarin. That really solved the language problems I was having while away from home.
I went to validate Dafa in Beijing in July 2000 for the second time. There were about one hundred Dafa practitioners who were arrested together with me. To make sure that we did not implicate other people, no one divulged their identity. With more and more arrested Dafa practitioners pouring in, all prisons big and small in Beijing were filled to capacity. Soon they had to transfer additional Dafa practitioners to other holding places. The ten of us were transferred to the detention center in the town of Luquan, part of the city of Shijiazhuang. There the whole group started on a hunger strike. Dafa practitioners took the hardship as joy. Even though the weather was hot, we all felt fresh and cool.
On the fourth day, I was transferred to the police station at the new development district in Luquan. I went on a hunger strike for six days in a row yet continued to feel fine. Those people were shocked. They exclaimed: "Falun Gong is truly extraordinary!" Finally, they could not identify me and one other practitioner. Since I spoke Mandarin, they just could not figure out where I had come from. They punished us by making us stand in the courtyard for one whole night. Now I finally understood why Teacher changed my dialect to Mandarin. I put it to good use when I validated Dafa that day.
After returning to my home, I was again illegally detained at the local detention center. In order to demand my release and freedom, I continued my hunger strike for another 14 days. Except for being force fed once, I had not eaten for 20 days in a row (they did not force feed me again after they saw that I was in good spirits). Falun Dafa is no ordinary science; a Dafa practitioner has an extraordinary body. I did not sleep in the detention center for 10 days and nights. I meditated throughout the night, and did whatever I had to do during the day. One night while I was meditating, the head deputy checked with the guard on duty: "Fang Jingpu did not sleep for the whole night?" The guard replied: "She did not sleep the whole night. She did not sleep during the day, either." Their comments got my attention. I thought, "Dafa is the most profound science. I must use this format to validate Dafa!" Just as my thought was formed, I could feel a warm current flowing through my whole body. I recalled what Teacher revealed to me two days ago. A sentence appeared in my head: "Once you lose this opportunity you will regret it for the rest of your life a thousand times over." My action in this one way will validate Dafa, in another way it will also promote Dafa, so as to awaken predestined people. Therefore the miracle of not sleeping for ten whole days and nights occurred. At the time the head deputy and other guards could not believe what they had seen and were shocked out of their wits.
I am only trying to use my own experience to validate the wonders of Dafa, showing that Dafa is really the most profound science. Please wake up, my dear fellow citizens! When faced with escalating atrocious persecution, how many people really understand why Dafa practitioners were willing to give up their life to appeal in Beijing? Why did they pay such an enormous price just to speak out the truth "Falun Dafa is good and righteous?" Because they knew from deep in their heart that people who were deceived by the lies and slanders will fall to the abyss if they follow the scoundrels in this human world. The infinite universe of unraveled magnificence will only be revealed to the good people who can separate the good from the evil, who will promote what is righteous and just. Let me ask you: when the whole truth comes out, where do you wish yourself to be?
