January 23rd is Chinese New Year's Eve, it's the time when members of practically all families get together to celebrate and ring in the New Year. But many practitioners in China were stripped of this right. They were jailed, sent to labor camps...
To expose this cruel reality, New Zealand practitioners went to the Chinese Embassy in Auckland at 4PM on this day. They held up banners that read, "131 practitioners were tortured to death", "China: stop persecuting Falun Gong", "Please help stop China persecuting Falun Gong", "Zhen-Shan-Ren", "Falun Gong free exercise classes" etc. Practitioners made a memorial flower wreath, with the ode, "Bearing indescribable hardships, calling for justice and conscience". Everybody wore a little white flower in front of each's chest. The scene was very solemn as we condoled the 131 practitioners who were persecuted to death hoping to arouse the conscience of the Chinese people, expose the viciousness of Jiang Zemin, the violence that is happening in China; and let more kind-hearted New Zealand people know the real story of Falun Gong.
The same evening, the Chinese Embassy was holding a New Year's Eve party. They were surprised to see us. They came out to take our pictures and record the incident. Many practitioners placed pictures of persecutions and real stories of Falun Gong in front of their cameras. The staff of the embassy kept screaming at us, attempting to provoke us into a quarrel. Practitioners however did not fall for it, and remained unperturbed oblivious to all their rattling. They soon grew tired of their game. Everybody raised a little triangle flag of "Falun Dafa" and "Zhen Shan Ren", standing there peacefully to the Dafa music. Journalists from New Zealand Pioneer News, the largest Newspaper in New Zealand, interviewed us. The local police on patrol got out of their car, walked towards us and said, "You guys did good! Falun Gong is good!"
After 4PM it is rush hour in Auckland. The Chinese embassy is situated on a major traffic line. Many vehicles passing through horned their support. Some nice New Zealand people waved at us, many gave us the thumbs up.
After dark, we lighted candles to memorialize our practitioners who contributed their lives for Dafa. One gentleman saw our candlelight, and came over to inquire. After we briefed him, he commended us for doing absolutely the right thing. Later on, he returned to give us some candles. He said he felt his soul was with us. He left with some Falun Dafa information materials.
The activity concluded at 10PM, more than 30 practitioners had participated.
We know, in China, Jiang Zemin is stepping up persecution in the Chinese New Year period. Many practitioners have been forcibly taken away from their homes for no reasons. Thousands of practitioners are homeless, many lives are in danger, and the number persecuted to death is increasing.
We call upon all kind-hearted people to support Falun Dafa, to rescue those who are been jailed illegally, to stop Jiang Zemin's vicious acts, and save China from such disgrace!
