Geneva: Falun Gong Practitioners Testify To Their Suffering; Amnesty International Appeals for An End To the Persecution
On the evening of March 19, 2001, Swiss Falun Gong practitioners and Amnesty International of Geneva University jointly sponsored a "Public Hearing for Falun Gong Persecution Victims." Over 200 practitioners plus people from all walks of life who were interested in the Falun Gong issue attended the conference. At the hearing, Amnesty International's conference organizer introduced the "Anti-Torture" campaign that was initiated last October, and reiterated his organization's consistent opposition to the suppression of Falun Gong. He pointed out that China's persecution of Falun Gong seriously violates the practitioners' basic human rights.
Chinese Group Attempts to Provoke and Disrupt Public Testimony Sponsored By Amnesty International

On the evening of March 21, Amnesty International held a forum open to academics, government officials and researchers at the university "Unimail". The forum, similar to the one on the previous Monday, featured the personal testimony of Professor Zhang Kunlun from Canada, Ms. Xiang Cuiying from Australia and Dr. Sunny Lu regarding on the torture and persecution going on in China.

Demonstration: More than a thousand members of Falun Gong assembled peacefully yesterday in front of the Palais des Nations. Among them was B., a peace-loving native of Geneva.
