[Minghui Net] Reported from Geneva on March 22, 2001---
Beginning on March 19, the Geneva Branch of Amnesty International began a one-week long "signature-signing" activity in a corridor of the University of Geneva. The activity starts at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m. everyday.
This activity is accompanied by colorful photo displays that clarify the truth of Falun Gong and expose all kinds of tortures and other miserable treatments experienced by Falun Gong practitioners in China. The purpose of this activity is to send a letter along with these signatures to the Chinese Prime Minister, Mr. Zhu Rongji, appealing for a stop to the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese government.
There are many students that walk down the corridor everyday and they express much interest in this activity. Amnesty International is able to collect several hundreds of signatures each day.
Because the crimes by Jiang Zemin and his group against Falun Gong practitioners are being exposed at the UN human rights conference, this "signature-signing" activity by Amnesty International is timed well and gives people the chance to support of Falun Gong and renounce the Chinese government's brutal crackdown.
