In a county of Sichuan Province, the police have begun arresting Falun Dafa practitioners. Along with the regular police officers, there were armed police from the County Military Department. While the arrests were being made, hundreds of the villagers surrounded the regular and armed policemen. They said angrily to the policemen, "All those practitioners are good people. Why are you arresting them? If you want to arrest Falun Gong practitioners, then all the people in our village are Falun Gong practitioners. If you arrest one practitioner today, hundreds of us will follow you to prison."
By this time, police vehicles were moving slowly in the crowd. Hundreds of people, ignoring the police's threats, surrounded and followed the vehicles. Some villagers carried bedrolls on their back. There were white-haired old people, young mothers with babies in their arms and some children. The confrontation lasted a long time; in the end, the police could not arrest anyone.
Later, one policeman who attended the mission told his relatives, "At that time, I was scared, so many people [surrounded us], I really felt I was doing something very mean" One of his relatives, who is also a Falun Dafa practitioner, told him not to do such wicked things again. Falun Dafa is an orthodox Fa and it is deeply planted in the people's hearts. All good deeds and bad deeds will receive due retribution.
[Chongqing] Recent Condition of Practitioner Gu Zhiyi
Gu Zhiyi, a practitioner from Chongqing City, has been bailed out after a court trial. Her second son-in-law was sentenced to 3 years in a labor camp because he went to Beijing to appeal. He continues to be very steadfast while in jail. Her second daughter was forced to leave home because she could not bear the harsh surveillance and torture from police. The daughter's whereabouts are not known. Gu Zhiyi's husband is paralyzed due to an illness and stays at home. Her elder daughter also stays at home, because she has a cranial nerve problem. Her second daughter's child is also living with her. So Gu Zhiyi takes care of everything in this big family. Moreover, the leaders of her work unit and the police often come to harass her and put pressure on her.
[Heilongjiang Province] Morning Newspaper Headline: Falun Gong Practitioners Are Not Allowed to Take High Education Entrance Examination
On March 23, 2001, the "Morning Newspaper" of Heilongjiang province published a headline news stating that Falun Gong practitioners will not be allowed to take the High Education Entrance Examination. The brief content of the article was such: "Three kinds of high school graduates who insist on practicing Falun Gong are regarded as having failed the test of ideology and morality and thus are not allowed to take the High Education Entrance Examination." I guess that the so-called "three kinds of graduates" must include the students who refused to sign their names on the anti-Falun Gong banners (the "Million Signature Drive"). A lot of students refused to sign. Many of them are not Falun Gong practitioners but since they know the truth about Falun Gong, they were unwilling to "drift with the tide."
If we allow Jiang Zemin and his accomplices to continue carrying out these acts, we won't be able to even imagine what high education in China will become. If a good student is be deprived the right to take the High Education Entrance Examination, losing his life opportunity simply because he refuses to sign his name on the anti-Falun Gong banners, isn't this government terrifying? Would it still be possible for people to have a happy life under such a government?
[Hebei Province] Crimes Committed by Chief of Local Police Station in Xinji County of Sanhe Town
(Here are only a few of the crimes committed by Wang Zhendong, the chief of the police station in Sanhe Town) 1. At around 1am on December 26, 2000, Wang Zhendong ordered Practitioner Gan Yufang, who had been locked in the meeting room (in the police station) to come out and brutally beat her. After that, Wang ordered Gan Yufang to kneel down and beat her so severely that her whole body trembled. She was loosing her vision and everything was getting dark . Her head had a big swollen bruise. Her face was also swollen. To protest the inhuman torture, Gan went on a hunger strike.
2. In December 2000, Wang maliciously beat practitioner Zhang Huimin who was arrested and escorted back for going to Beijing to appeal. He used a broom to beat her fiercely and asked her, "Can your Dafa rectify?" Zhang answered, "Yes. It certainly can!" He was exasperated and yelled, "You dare say it can rectify, I'll first beat your face so it's swollen on one side!" Zhang Huimin's face soon became swollen.
3. Wang Zhendong tortured practitioner Li Qingzhen, who had been on a hunger strike for four days to protest being illegally detained after appealing in Beijing. Wang pointed to a broom and asked, "What is that? Bring that to me." When Li handed him the broom, Wang Zhendong used it to beat him. Li's nose was bleeding, and his head was swollen and in pain. When he went out in the morning, he suddenly lost consciousness. Later on, Li Qingzhen was taken home, but due to the torture, he could not eat or get up for many days.
4. Wang has used criminal means to mistreat practitioners. Pan Zhenfang and Meng Zhaomin were beaten and cursed by Wang Zhendong because they went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. Wang ordered his followers to stripe off Pan Zhenfang's (this name sounds like a females) clothes leaving only her underclothes on and handcuffed her to an electric pole in the street. A crowd of over twenty people watched and witnessed Wang's malicious behavior. Practitioner Meng Zhaomin was also striped and handcuffed to a pole in the yard of the police station. It was wintertime. When Meng was finally released from the pole, he was frozen and fell to the ground.
5. Wang Zhendong also beat and swore at practitioner Wang Shulan and many others. Wang not only abused Dafa practitioners, but also harshly treated other civilians.

[Sanhe, Hebei Province] Yanjiao Public Security Sub-Bureau Criminally Abuses Elderly Citizens
Dafa practitioners Hao Zhengfang and Li Shulan went to Beijing to appeal, and on December 15, 2000, were taken back to the Yanjiao Public Security Sub-Bureau, where they were forcibly detained in a big iron cage in a dark, damp, stinking room with no roof. They were detained there for six days and nights without food or water. They were not allowed to wash, and had to sleep on the dirty cement floor on the coldest nights of winter in northern China. You can imagine how they felt. In particular, they would not even excuse Li Shulan, a 60-year-old lady. It is obvious how Jiang Zemin's criminal gang "united with the great majority, educated and transformed them."(Note: this is one of the propaganda slogans of Jiang's.)
[Sanhe, Hebei Province] The Criminal Act of Wang Yunxia from Yanjiao Economic Development District of Sanhe City
On December 21, the Yanjiao Economic Development District held a "transformation class" for nine Falun Dafa practitioners. On December 30, another Dafa practitioner went to visit them. Wang Yunxia, an employee of the administrative committee of the economic development district, didn't allow this practitioner to leave and threatened to arrest her. She ordered Vice Director Chen and about two-dozen personnel of the city administrative brigade to encircle the Dafa practitioners. Two male practitioners and one female were taken into another room and beaten up.
[Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Please Pay Close Attention to the Suffering of Falun Dafa Practitioner Liu Li from Chengdu City
Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Li from Chengdu City, female, 27 years old, was formerly a teacher at the Heping Street Elementary School of Chengdu City. She was unjustifiably suspended from her post simply because she declared that she would "persist in cultivation practice at home." The school employed many people to carry out the so-called forced "transformation work," and concentrated on brainwashing her for nearly half a month. In spite of great pressure from her work unit, she went to Beijing to clarify the truth of Falun Gong on June 26, 2000. She was arrested at the State Appealing Bureau, and was illegally detained at the Chengdu Agency in Beijing. After being escorted back to Chengdu, she was illegally taken into custody and detained for 15 days. On the first day after she had been released from the detention center, Xie X, a policeman in charge of household registration at the Shuangqiao Police Sub-Station of Chengdu City, lured her to the Shuangqiao Police Sub-Station on the pretense of holding a "study class." She was once again illegally detained for 15 consecutive days. During the time she was in the detention center, without reason the police sub-station demanded that she pay more than 2000 Yuan RMB. After she refused, the police sub-station colluded with the school to illegally withdraw all the money from her deposit book. On the night of February 28, the police sub-station kidnapped and illegally detained her because she refused to make a pledge, and didn't yield to the evil forces. The next day, she was sent to the forced "transformation class" held at the Wenjiang Huipu Farm. She started a hunger strike to protest those vicious people who illegally restricted her personal freedom. The relevant officials were so scared that in order to cover up their criminal acts, they sent Liu Li to the No. 1 Detention Center of Chengdu on Ningxia Street. She was arrested recently, and rumor has it that she will be sentenced. Her elderly parents suffer from severe illnesses and are very worried about her persecution. Her younger sister is tearfully asking for further information about her everywhere.
We strongly urge the United Nations human rights organization, international human rights organizations, all governments, and all people to pay close attention to the criminal acts that are happening in China, such as trampling on the freedom of belief and depriving citizens of their basic human rights. Please show your concern for the miserable suffering of Liu Li and her family. We call for the international human rights organization to go to China to investigate the truth of the persecution against thousands upon thousands of innocent Falun Gong practitioners.

[Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] The Truth about Harbin Detention Center's Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners
The disciplinary department of Harbin Detention Center (also called Duck Pen) publicly declared that Dafa practitioners would be released after writing the "three letters"(i.e. Guarantee Letter, Severance Letter, and Letter of Repentance). Those who refused to write the "three letters" would have no freedom of speech or activity. They were not allowed to speak, and were allowed to go to the bathroom only once every 7 or 8 hours. The steadfast Falun Dafa practitioners didn't eat or drink the whole day. Meanwhile, the detention center employed mental torture techniques, using deafening loudspeakers to unceasingly broadcast the filthy "transformation" stories everyday. Under such mental and physical torture, one Dafa practitioner could not stand it any longer and wrote the "three letters." To her surprise, she waited for a long time, yet no information came about her release. Later on, she realized that she had been cheated, and should not have treated the Teacher and Dafa this way. She felt deep regret and bitterness.
The warden cadre didn't let her off, but since further threatening and tempting her didn't work any more, she was sent to the Wanjia Labor Camp. The poor 65-year-old lady! She should have been enjoying happiness at home; instead, she was tortured this way simply for striving for her freedom of belief. A 77-year-old lady in the No. 9 ward was detained several months for going to Beijing to speak out a few just words because all her persistent diseases had disappeared after she started practicing Falun Gong. There were as many as 6 or 7 other elderly citizens being held at the Harbin Detention Center.
Dafa practitioner Li was released after serving his full term of forced labor re-education. The police intended to arrest him and put him in jail again because he did not participate in criticizing Falun Gong. This Dafa practitioner left home after being informed of this. The officers of the Neighborhood Police Station were not able to arrest Li, so they put his wife under house arrest one day and one night instead. As a result, his wife had a recurrence of an old disease, and nearly died.
Under the great pressure of being bullied by Jiang Zemin's gang, some weak-willed people might yield. However, this behavior definitely does not come from their own wills, because "coercion cannot change people's hearts."
It was discovered that the places detaining Dafa practitioners in Harbin are currently so crowded, that in addition to holding practitioners at the Guxiang Detention Center and the Wanjia Labor Camp, they are also sending people to the mental hospital in Jiangbei, the Daowai Detention Center, the Harbor Bureau, the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center, and the Xiangfang Railway Jail.
[Zichuan] Authorities in Zichuan Start a New Round of Persecution Against Local Falun Dafa Practitioners
At present, the criminal group led by Jiang Zemin has started a new round of persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners. In Zichuan, every Falun Dafa practitioner who has previously been to Beijing to appeal has been put under house arrest by the local authorities of various districts. Many Falun Dafa practitioners were illegally detained. Whoever refused to write the "guarantee" would be forced to participate in the so-called "helping and educating" group (another name for the "transformation class"), and the so-called "reformed" people would attend in order to deceive the practitioners.
[Beijing] Expose the Evil Person
Ever since his true nature was exposed, Zhang Kuilin from the Beijing Ministry of Agriculture, who had infiltrated into Falun Dafa posing as a practitioner, has been at the forefront in suppressing Falun Dafa. As the director of the "transformation" office at the Ministry of Agriculture, he assembled Du Xiaoming (a so-called "reformed practitioner") and some others of his "reformed" fellows to go to different places, meet with newspaper and television reporters, and viciously attack the Teacher and Dafa at so-called "victory celebration" meetings. Using the information they had collected in the past, they caused harm to Falun Dafa practitioners. During the "transformation classes," they would start off with "persuasion" disguised as "kindness"; if this did not work they would then reveal their true, evil nature and even go so far as to brutally beat up Falun Dafa practitioners, as the police do.

Policeman Liu Kang, from Nangang Police Station of Harbin municipal public security Department of the Public Security Bureau of Heilongjiang province, incited the guards to order the criminal inmates to wantonly beat and mistreat Falun Dafa practitioners. He attempted to take advantage of the persecution to get promoted and gain money. He also showed off to everyone the awards he received for "efficiently suppressing Falun Gong." [Zhaodong] Wicked Policeman Fan Xiaoguang from Zhaodong Municipal Public Security Bureau Persecutes Falun Dafa Practitioners, Bringing Misfortune to His Family
Fan Xiaoguang is a policeman at the Zhaodong municipal police department. In the period before the Spring Festival of 2001 [January 24, 2001], he was mainly in charge of the Falun Gong issue. During this period, he detained and persecuted Falun Gong practitioners for a long time and extorted money from them. He did not even spare those who had written the so-called "repentance letters" (statements renouncing Falun Gong) against their will, and he forced them to slander Falun Dafa and give up several tens of thousands of Yuan RMB before he would release them. Several Falun Dafa practitioners have been detained for over a year in excess of their sentences and, up to now, have still not yet been released (the applications to sentence them to forced labor camps were denied many times). During the period of detention, female Falun Dafa practitioners were not allowed to have toilet paper, and their family members were not allowed to bring in toilet paper to them from outside. Fan also incited criminal inmates to beat up Falun Dafa practitioners. Inside the detention center, whoever practiced the Falun Gong exercises would be put into foot shackles. Fan Xiaoguang once swore that he'd rather be a cow or a horse than declare that Falun Dafa is good.
However, during the Spring Festival his wife encountered a traffic accident. The vehicle flipped over and rolled off the road, crushing his wife's body. He looked around nearby for people to help but nobody would help him, so he fired his gun: still no one would help him. Later on a bus came by; there were only three people inside the bus including the driver and his helper: the only passenger was a Falun Dafa practitioner. The practitioner said to the driver and his helper, "let's help to lift the vehicle and rescue the person, as this is the most important thing." It was only after hearing this that they became willing to help.
As the saying goes, 'Good deeds will be rewarded with good and bad deeds will be requited with bad.' Those who persecute Falun Dafa practitioners, please think about this saying.
