[Minghui Net] Since the cruel crackdown began in July 1999, Falun Gong practitioners have peacefully and with good intentions appealed to the Chinese Government and clarified the truth about Falun Gong to people in various social strata. Jiang Zemin's regime, however, has used all possible means to damage the reputation of Falun Gong through his "What I Say Goes" media campaign. Consequently, the Chinese government has refused to let any third party investigate any of the fabricated stories. Jiang Zemin secretly demanded lower level governments to "defame Falun Gong practitioners politically, impoverish them economically, and torture them physically."
On April 29, 2001, the Xinhua Agency stated that the Fushun People's Middle Court in Liaomin Province sentenced one person to life in prison and another person to thirteen years for damaging the railways. Xinhua also claimed that the two individuals tampered with the railways after the Fushun Mayor turned down their request to release several detained Falun Gong practitioners. This occurred just after Jiang Zemin issued a new order to "completely suppress Falun Gong within five months." In addition, local officials have been fabricating rumors about Falun Gong under increased pressure from Jiang Zemin. Now, Falun Gong practitioners all over the world and those kind-hearted people who support Falun Gong wish to express their deepest concern over the Fushun Railway Case. We also want to warn people all over the world that this may be another false case concocted by Jiang's regime.
In the past twenty-one months, Jiang has carried out several "eliminate-Falun-Gong-in-three-months" plans, though he has failed each time. It has recently been reported, however, that Jiang has drafted a new plan. Namely, within the five-month period from May 1 to September 30, Falun Gong practitioners will be forced to write five statements renouncing Falun Gong, showing their regret for practicing, etc. Now, local governments have received the five-month plan and they have started to make lists of practitioners to arrest. These examples show us that the railway case reported in the Xinhua News could be an excuse for Jiang to start a new round of persecution against Falun Gong.
According to the April edition of Opening magazine, insiders recently revealed that the "self-immolation" event in Tiananmen Square was a fabrication created by Jiang Zemin's regime to defame Falun Gong. The National Security Department admitted that they carefully staged the event at the instruction of Luo Gan. Those who participated knew that the innocence of Falun Gong would eventually be restored. They also knew that Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan were callous and cruel. Thus, those who participated in the event were aware that they could be murdered to prevent them from telling the truth of the immolation event. In the event that something bad did happen, some people involved made written and recorded transcriptions of the self-immolation event and gave them to their relatives.
We are calling for an independent investigation of the Fushun Railway Case by a third party, and we are appealing for the end of Jiang Zemin's crackdown on Falun Gong.
