[Minghui Net] Falun Gong practitioner Xing Guochang, male, 63-years old, is a retired cadre of the Shijiazhuang Vehicle Manufacturing Factory in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. He was once the head and the secretary of the XX Party Committee at the factory, and was elected "'Excellent XX Party Member" on many occasions.' Before he practiced Falun Dafa, he suffered from many kinds of illnesses. He started practicing Falun Gong in May 1995, and soon many of his illnesses disappeared.
After July 20, 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, as he could not understand why the government was outlawing such a good practice. As a result, both he and his wife, Wen Fenglan (also a practitioner), were detained for 15 days.
At 11:00 am on February 26, 2000, Mr Xing was taken to the police station and was later sent to the detention center in Zhengding county, Hebei province.
The third day after Mr. Xing was locked up, Liu XX (the deputy director of the Shenglibeijie Police Station), Yu Ligang from Zhengding Public Security Bureau and three other people came to search his home. When they found a copy of Zhuan Falun (the main book of Falun Gong), Wen Fenglan snatched it from them and held it in front of her chest. She said: "You can take everything else, but not this book." They said to her: "What could you do if we seized the book from you?" She said: "I will die for it, if you dare to try. This book is more precious than my life!" As a result, they took Wen Fenglan to the Zhengding Public Security Bureau. At the Department of Politics and Security, Juan Lihua said to her: "Will you hand over the book or not?" Wen Fenglan answered: "No." Juan Lihua said: "Your son will be executed if you do not hand over the book. Will you now hand it over?" Wen Fenglan said: "Everyone's life is predestined." Juan Lihua then said: "Your husband will be executed if you do not hand over the book. Will you now hand it over?" Wen Fenglan said: "I will not hand over the book." Wen's fearlessness and her spirit to protect Dafa shocked them. They could not understand her, and finally gave up trying to get the book. They released her afterwards.
Falun Gong practitioners who go to Beijing to appeal are severely beaten at the Zhengding County Detention Center and the Zhengding Public Security Bureau. In addition to the beatings, money is extorted from them using every means possible. Practitioners are always handcuffed, even when using the restroom and eating. The policemen also order the prisoners to brutally beat Falun Gong practitioners.
Several months later, Wen Fenglan went to the detention center to visit Mr. Xing. She said to him: "You have suffered so much." Mr. Xing smiled calmly and said: "It's nothing. If one could reach enlightenment this way, it would be too easy."
Mr. Xing was charged with a fabricated crime and illegally arrested. The court also did not go through the legal procedure to notify his family of his arrest. He was locked up at the Zhengding County Detention Center for nine and a half months before being sentenced to five and one half years in prison. His family was not notified of this either. Currently, Mr. Xing is detained at the Number 1 Prison in Baoding City, Hebei Province.
We hope those who helped in these crimes will no longer commit them, and that those who were blinded by the lies and fabrications will soon wake up to the truth. Otherwise, it will be too late to regret once the truth is revealed.
Cai Shengli, the assistant head of the Department of Politics and Security of Zhengding County, enjoys persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. He is very active in torturing Falun Gong practitioners, both openly and behind the scenes. We hereby warn those like him: stop committing such crimes at once! Otherwise, the retribution will soon come, no matter who supports you.
