Demonstrators raising awareness of the persecution about Falun Gong practitioners in China plan to walk from Marina Park in Kirkland through the Eastside to Seattle tomorrow.
Local practitioners of Falun Gong -- a form of meditation that incorporates exercises similar to tai chi-- plan to display exhibits and information at Kirkland's Marina Park at 8 a.m. today, where Summerfest, Kirkland's annual arts festival, is taking place.
From Marina Park, the practitioners and other demonstrators will walk to downtown Bellevue, across Interstate 90, and finish up Myrtle Edwards Park. The walk is expected to take 10 hours. The event is coordinated with similar events worldwide.
