[Anhui Province] The Recording of the Falun Dafa's Radio Program "COSMOS" Resonated above Two Detention Centers in a Major Northern City

On the morning of July 8, 2001, Dafa's radio program resounded above the two detention centers in a major city in northern Anhui Province. The solemn "Pudu" Dafa music, Teacher's several new articles, and the announcement from Dafa disciples all around the world to send forth the righteous thoughts, were broadcast at the same time, which greatly encouraged all detained Dafa practitioners who had been tortured for a long time. In addition, with the powerful righteous thoughts, practitioners eliminated the vicious disturbances and lessened the damages. As a result, "Cosmos" was broadcast from beginning to end.

[Hunan Province] Baimalong Detention Center Authorities Add Drugs to Dafa Practitioners' Food

Hunan Province's Baimalong Detention Center set up a "No.7 Big Unit," which specialized in the persecution of Dafa practitioners. In the daytime, Dafa practitioners were forced to continuously take military training and do forced labor as part of the physical punishment. Many practitioners fainted, due to extreme, intense physical labor. At night, they were forced to watch videos and read materials slandering Dafa. They were under surveillance 24 hours a day. Li Kaiyou from Heyang City went on a hunger strike to protest the vicious persecution.

Fu Weijia from Yueyang City went on successive one-month hunger strikes. She could hardly move, but was still not allowed to rest.

Xu Xiaorui, from Dongkou County, Shaoyang City kept on practicing the Falun Gong exercises in jail. He was handcuffed onto an iron baluster and did not drink or eat for nine days.

Female practitioner Bai Manzhen from Yueyang City was dragged on the ground by her handcuffs for a very long distance. This violent torture fractured the bones in her hand and caused wounds over all of her body. In addition, for 18 days she was locked between cement walls where she could not even stand up. To protest this inhuman torture, she went on an eight-day hunger strike.

Female practitioner Chen Huimin from Changsha City also did not drink or eat for 18 days.

Other common criminals monitored female practitioner Li Yan. She was not allowed to practice Falun Gong exercises or communicate with other practitioners. The vicious criminals often beat and otherwise abused her.

Male practitioner Yang Youyuan from Huaihua City was handcuffed to a bed for persistently practicing the exercises. He was then sent to a mental hospital for forced drug injections and force-feeding.

Several criminals beat up practitioner Zhou Weijun from Heyang City. There were many wounds on his (or her) body. To assert his right to practice, he refused to drink or eat, but was eventually force-fed.

Liu Yuehua and Bai Manzhen from Yueyang City were force-fed after they went on a hunger strike. Some common criminals would sit on their bodies, while others would forcibly open their mouths to force-feed them with a section of thick bamboo. This loosened the practitioners' teeth and injured their mouths.

An insider (name was omitted) revealed that the vicious people daily add drugs to practitioners' food. The details need to be further investigated.

I am a 60 years old retired worker. I went to appeal in Beijing by myself. As there was no one receiving me in the appeal office, I went to shout, "Falun Dafa is Good" at Tiananmen Square. However, police caught me, put me into a police car and sent me to a detention center. After I was released, I was sent to a brainwashing class and had to turn in 2,000 Yuan (about $25, almost one year's income; $25 is average monthly income in rural China) as bail. After I got home, I was "fined" an additional 10,000Yuan, although I had already paid 7,000 Yuan! The rest would be deducted from my retirement pension. I have not received a penny for the last several months. How am I supposed to live? What am I supposed to live on? Do I still have the basic right to be a human being? I am wondering why a 60 year old woman like myself is charged with conspiracy? How could I possibly collude with foreign forces against China? Do I look like I am planning to contend for someone's power? Isn't this ridiculous?

[China] A Dafa Practitioner Clarifies the Truth with Compassion; Officials in the Provincial "610" Office are Touched

In 1999, a female practitioner went to validate Dafa in Beijing's Tiananmen Square. Police arrested her and illegally put her into a detention center. They beat her and brainwashed her. Under duress, and because she could not think clearly, she wrote the "repentance statement" to renounce her faith in Falun Gong. After she came back to her hometown, she immediately released a solemn announcement that all the statements she wrote against Dafa were invalid.

At 9am on July 2, 2001, she went into the provincial "610 Office." [an office specializing in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners; 6.10 refers to June 10, 1999, when this office was set up] She told those people who helped Jiang Zemin's criminal regime to do evil that Dafa is indestructible and Dafa practitioners' determined minds to safeguard Dafa are also indestructible. Genuine practitioners would never give up Dafa because of brainwashing. Though some people wrote "repentance statements" against their hearts under the cruel persecution, after they came back to their senses, they went back again to join the mighty current of Fa-rectification. Those people who were controlled by the vicious forces and were used to persecute Dafa and practitioners had committed immense sins. They should wake up soon. Otherwise, what is waiting for them is the endless pain.

[Yanshan County, Hebei Province] Qiantong Police Persecutes Dafa Practitioners

Last New Year's Day, my brother went to Beijing. The local police recognized him, escorted him back and incarcerated him. Qiantong's local police station extorted a 2,000 Yuan fine (about $250; $25 is average monthly income in rural China). Surprisingly, after the fine was paid, instead of releasing my brother, the police station personnel transferred him to the Yanshan County Detention Center. There, my brother experienced brutal tortures and beatings, and was forced to work 20 hours a day. Without any due process of law, he was illegally detained for over five months. On June 20 this year, we were told that my brother received a four-year jail sentence. Not until we visited him on July 4^th did we learn that he had been secretly transferred to Cangzhou City. Later he was again moved and is now living at an undisclosed location.

Zhang Moxiang, the captain of the Qiantong Police Station, arrested practitioners four times and beat them severely. He pinched practitioners' muscles with a pair of pliers and fined them. This time, in the middle of the night, he and other policemen and community workers broke into the practitioners' homes and conducted an illegal search. They beat up the practitioners and fined them 1,000 Yuan each. He held those who didn't pay in unlawful confinement. Until now, 14 to 15 Dafa practitioners and non-practitioners have been illegally imprisoned for seven to eight days.

[Huangpu District, Guangzhou City] Exposing the Vicious Brainwashing Class

The brainwashing class thugs in the Huangpu District used extremely depraved, tormenting methods, often beating people and yanking their hair. They did not even spare a 60-year-old-woman. They also deprived people of sleep. One practitioner had not slept for 20 days, and some practitioners were forced to stand up for several days in a row. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Shenyang City Police Force a 13-Year-Old Child to Lead the Way to a Dafa Practitioner's House

On the morning of July 8, the police in Shenyang City forced a 13-year-old youngster to lead them to the home of Liu Yantao, a Dafa practitioner who lives near the Hong District Tire Factory. The police broke into Liu's home where they beat, wounded and kidnapped another practitioner who was there at that time. That practitioner's whereabouts are unclear. Whether Liu is still alive or dead is unknown. The details require further investigation.

[Tongzhou County, Beijing] Officers from the Liyuan Police Station Illegally Incarcerate 36 Dafa Practitioners

On Dec. 23, 1999, officials from the Liyuan Police Station in Tongzhou County, Beijing illegally arrested 36 Dafa practitioners. Among them were a pregnant woman and an over 70 year-old male practitioner. The police conducted a forceful body search on them and confiscated Dafa books. A police captain who wore eyeglasses (name unknown) was especially vicious. He not only hit practitioners with his electric baton, but also kicked them with his heavy leather boots, to force them into submission. He didn't allow practitioners to eat and sleep. Even an over 70-year old woman from Nanjing City wasn't spared from the beating.

After July 20, 1999, the evil force used high-pressure methods to coerce village officials; they were given "guarantee letter" materials and were compelled to get the practitioners' signatures on them. In case the practitioner didn't sign, they ordered the family members to sign, and, if there was no compliance, the officials wouldn't leave. Having no other choice, the family members were forced to sign. So we can see that it's a horrible lie when some media sources claim that certain people have "promised not to practice." Some village officials deceive their superiors and delude their subordinates in order to preserve their own interest. They face a dilemma. Knowing that all Dafa practitioners are good people, they say, "working for Jiang means you have to lie, or you'll be jobless and cannot put food on the table." Poor people! Under repression of the despotic power they have lost their dignity and judgment regarding good and evil. Their hearts are completely corrupt and twisted.

On the morning of June 4, a local police station unit in the Hongkou District searched Shanghai Dafa practitioner Li Xiangyu's home and kidnapped her. The police have been threatening her employer as well. They confiscated printers and photocopiers from her employment company and took away another practitioner by the last name of Yan.

[China] Law School Lecturer Resigns his Position as Court Vice Inspector to Avoid Harming More Kind People

A lecturer from a famous university's law school worked as assistant inspector for a city inspection bureau. As he dealt with many cases involving suits against and sentencing of Dafa practitioners for unfurling banners in Tiananmen Square, he felt that they were all illegal procedures. Therefore, he resigned from his position. He discussed this matter with the assistant dean of the law school, who agreed that he had made the right decision.

[Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Shijiazhuang No.39 Middle School Leaders Persecute Dafa Practitioners; They Fail to Recruit Enough Students

A few days ago, I heard that No.39 Middle School did not recruit enough students and failed to pass the recruiting this year. This should not happen to a public school with a history of nearly 30 years. Later I found out that the leaders of the No. 39 Middle School had been very active in persecuting Falun Gong. The accountant of the school, Liang Huiling, is a Falun Gong practitioner. In order to validate Dafa, she went to Beijing many times to appeal. In January 2001, the leaders of the school forced her to stop working and suspended her salary in order to force her to give up cultivation. In addition, they adopted other methods to torture her, such as sending her to a labor camp and continuing to harass her with phone calls. It is sinful to persecute people who cultivate Buddhahood and Tao. As a result, the school can no longer recruit students. The retribution has arrived. We hope they can be awakened.

[Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Construction Workers' Supervisor Received Retribution for Slandering the Buddha Fa

In the winter of 2000, Zhao Guofu, the head of Jinxiu District construction workers, verbally abused Master Li and Falun Dafa. He also destroyed a Dafa book, Essentials for Further Advancement, saying tauntingly that if Falun Dafa is really powerful, it should prove it.

The following day, he got cramps in his legs and it didn't recover until several days later. He immediately realized he had received the retribution because of cursing Master, Dafa, and destroying the book. He decided he would not curse Dafa anymore. However, as he had already committed a serious crime, ten days later he was involved in a traffic accident. Although he was not the responsible party, as he left the scene after the accident without the permission of the police, Zhao eventually had to pay the medical expenses of the injured people who could not afford to pay. His driver's license was also suspended and he lost over 10,000 Yuan all together. In addition, during this period of time he made lots of mistakes on the construction site and was publicly scolded by the company.
