In the morning of July 15, the Beijing Military Museum once again held a large-scale exhibit to slander Falun Dafa. We suggest that practitioners in Beijing send forth righteous thoughts together to eradicate the evil force behind it.
2. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Falun Dafa Practitioners Have Been On a Hunger Strike for 12 Days after Being Kidnapped and Their Lives are in Danger
Falun Dafa practitioners from Jiamusi city, Xuan Hua (female), Li Enju (female), and a practitioner whose last name is Li were arrested while clarifying the truth to people in Youyi County. Now they are illegally detained in Youyi Detention Center. They have been on a hunger strike for 12 days and their lives are in danger.
On the evening of July 5, 2001, Falun Dafa practitioners Fan Shujuan (female) and Chen were detained by the security section of Youyi Candy Factory in Jiamusi city while clarifying the truth to people. Their homes were illegally ransacked. The next day they were sent to the Yonghong Police Station. When the vicious policeman, Guo Weishan, from Yonghong Police Station, saw Fan Shujuan's firm commitment to Dafa was unshakable, he said, "I sentence you to 3 years of forced labor. If you write a promise and pay 10,000 Yuan RMB (More than 1 year's average salary in a Chinese city), you will be released." Without any legal procedure, he filled out the form for 3-years of forced labor. He extorted 2,000 Yuan (almost 3 months average salary in a Chinese city) from Chen.
Police in Jiamusi Labor Camp, Gao Xiaohua, Liu Chunlan and Qian Jiangxi beat and cursed Falun Dafa practitioners.
3. [Beijing] Falun Dafa Practitioner Wang Hongwei is Illegally Sentenced to 7 years in Prison
Beijing Falun Dafa practitioner Wang Hongwei, along with other practitioners from other parts of the country, went to Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa in December 2000. They were arrested while displaying the banners. They were detained in Fengtai District Detention Center and in the 7th section of the city's Pubic Security Bureau.
According to reliable information, Wang Hongwei was illegally sentenced to 7 years in prison and sent to Tianjin Chadian Farm Prison in June of this year.
4. [Xinjiang Province] Zhou Kewen is Illegally Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison. Local Officials Claim that "Here our power is greater than the law"
Falun Dafa practitioner, Zhou Kewen, wrote a letter to appeal for Falun Gong in October 1999, to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa and the greatness of Teacher. Soon afterwards, the police went to Zhou Kewen's home and forcibly put him in detention for 15 days. On December 1, 1999, Zhou Kewen went to visit a fellow practitioner and was forcibly taken away by the police. The charge was "getting together with others." He was detained for 50 days and then sent to a labor camp. He suffered all kinds of hardships in the labor camp and endured inhuman torture. His firm commitment to Teacher and to Dafa remained unmovable. Later, he was bailed out by his brother so that he could see a doctor. After being released for only 40 days (from May 30 to July 18), his home was illegally ransacked by more than 30 people from the Wulumuqi County Public Security Bureau, government officials, and joint defense. They took away more than 10 Falun Dafa books, different kinds of Falun Dafa audio and videotapes, more than 10 VCDs and forcibly took him away as well. Zhou Kewen refused to cooperate, but eventually was dragged into the car by many people. They also forced him to have his picture taken while holding Falun Dafa books and tapes. After the villains beat Zhou Kewen, they illegally detained him for 5 months without any reason or legal procedure. Later, on March 5, 2001, an illegally convened court tried and sentenced Zhou Kewen to 5 years in prison. He refused to accept the court's decision and appealed to the Intermediate People's Court on May 10. Seventeen days later he was notified that the Court upheld the original judgment.
He is still being detained in the Wulumuqi County Detention Center. During this period, Zhou Kewen repeatedly wrote letters to the detention center, the Court, the procurator and government officials to clarify that Falun Dafa is not wrong, that Teacher and Dafa are all pure, that Falun Dafa is the great law of the universe and that Falun Dafa practitioners cultivate the righteous Fa. The wicked people's bragging reply was, "Here our power is greater than the law. Political trickery is greater than the law." Their words and deeds follow the intentions of some leaders to make use of their powers in order to override the law and wantonly and inhumanly persecute Falun Dafa practitioners.

5. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Female Judge Kidnapped in Public
Just before the 2nd anniversary of the day when "human rights scoundrel" Jiang Zemin started cracking down on Falun Gong, Li Mei, a Falun Dafa practitioner and female judge in Hefei City, was kidnapped in public in front of lots of witnesses.
Around 6:00 PM on July 11, 2001, the former female judge of the Middle Court of Hefei City, (who was deprived of her job for persevering in practicing Falun Dafa), was on her way home. When she was approaching the building she lives in, four or five plainclothes police officers rushed toward her, grabbed her and forcibly pushed her into a white van with no license plate number displayed, then sped away in a hurry. This happened during the peak hour of people getting off work and quite a few passers-by witnessed the whole process of kidnapping. They were upset by what they saw and couldn't help reacting.
6. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Lu Dexin of Taiyuan University of Technology Is Missing
Falun Dafa practitioner Lu Dexin, enrolled since 1997 at the Chemical Engineering Institute of Taiyuan University of Technology, has been missing for 10 days. According to his roommates at school, Lu was called away by the university security division on the afternoon of July 4, 2001. Lu has been missing since then. It could be that the police in Taiyuan are holding Lu in custody.

7. [Cang County, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Yan Xigang of Zhangguantun Village Is Illegally Arrested
Yan Xigang is from Qiuzhuangzi of Zhangguantun Village in Cang County, Hebei Province. He has been practicing Falun Dafa since 1996. At midnight on July 12, 2001, Liu Xicai, director of the Overall Security and Management Office of Zhangguantun Village in Cang County, led a group of people who kidnapped Yan and took him to the yard of the village government. Yan told them, "Your taking away someone at midnight for no reason and without due process is against the law." Liu Xicai and Director Yu of the Politics and Law Committee instigated their subordinates to beat and torture Yan at will. They kicked and punched Yan so hard that blood instantly gushed out of his mouth and nose, and his face was swollen and misshapen from the beating. Liu Xicai and Director Yu boasted and threatened, "Even if I break the law, I have to force you into submission today." Both of them viciously beat Yan personally, and as a result he had wounds all over his body and was not able to move. Yan was then sent to and illegally detained in the Cang County detention center.
8. [Gu County, Hebei Province] Female Falun Dafa Practitioner Imprisoned Indefinitely for Firmly Holding to Her Beliefs
Ma, a female Falun Dafa practitioner from Xixinzhuang Village, Gu County, Hebei Province, is in her 20s and has two children; one is a first grader and the other is between four and five years old. A year ago she went to the broadcast room of the village to read, "The Historical Responsibilities that Jiang Zemin Cannot Shirk Off" to broadcast the truth about Falun Dafa. By the time the village party secretary made his way into the broadcast room, she had already finished reading the article. Then some thugs tied her up and dragged her behind a motorcycle for over 20 kilometers. Practitioner Ma was sentenced to 1 years of forced labor "reeducation." Her husband does not take care of their two children, but instead hangs out away from home. The two kids are really pitiful. One day the practitioner's sister went to visit them and burst into tears when she saw that they were eating flour dough covered with mold.
At the end of the 1 -year term of forced labor "reeducation," practitioner Ma held onto her righteous thoughts and refused to write statements renouncing Falun Gong. To everyone's surprise, she was sentenced to life imprisonment and is now serving her term in a prison in Tangshan City, Hebei province.
9. [Shanghai] Falun Dafa Practitioners from Jiangsu Province Kidnapped in Shanghai
Fifty-four-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Peng Hesheng and his wife Tao Yaqin (also fifty-fouryears old) are from Qidong, Jiangsu province. Police took them away when they were clarifying the truth about Falun Gong in Shanghai.
10. [China] Spreading the Fa to People with Predestined Relationships in the Remote Countryside
In early July when I was delivering Teacher's new articles to fellow practitioners, I saw two sisters just returning home after a whole night of delivering truth-clarifying literature about Falun Gong. I realized that Teacher was hinting to me "to have done it is to cultivate" (quoted from an unofficial translation of Teacher's poem Solid Cultivation). The way Falun Dafa is spread is by word of mouth and from heart to heart. The next day I set out for the countryside, since it is quite remote there and no one is practicing Falun Gong in the whole agricultural production team. It is rare that truth-clarifying materials about Falun Dafa are seen over there.
One day when I was spreading the Fa to some of my relatives under a tree, I caught sight of an uncle who is distantly related to me. I waved to him and he immediately knew why I was there. Before I had a chance to say anything to him, he said, "I can't help wondering why under such a severe persecution, Falun Gong practitioners still won't give up even when their lives are at risk. There must be something attractive about Falun Gong. You can say one or two persons are ignorant, but how can you say over 100 million people are ignorant? Are Westerners ignorant? I can't help wondering, and have been thinking about asking a Falun Gong practitioner what it is all about; it's just that I never had the chance." I picked up his topic and said, "See, here I am." He said, "Why didn't you come earlier and explain it to me so that I could know what Falun Gong is all about a while back?" Right at that moment, I felt that I hadn't fulfilled my duty as a particle of Dafa. My senior uncle asked me on the spot about reading Zhuan Falun and I left him the copy that I carried with me. When I saw him walking toward his home as if carrying the ultimate treasure, Teacher's poem Visiting the Hometown came to my mind.
