[Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province]

During the 2001 Spring Festival [Chinese New Year Holiday], while lighting fireworks with a colleague, officer Wei Ming of the Xinghua police station in Qiaoxi branch of Shijiazhuang public security bureau, notorious for his brutality, severely injured one of his eyes and was instantly admitted to the hospital. Misfortunes do not come one at a time. His wife filed for a divorce soon after. There is a reason for everything. His tribulation was the consequence of his stubborn refusal to cease his persecution of Dafa practitioners.

Since July 20, 1999, officer Wei Ming had been following Jiang Zemin's orders and ruthlessly persecuting Dafa practitioners in Shijiazhuang's "610" Office [an office specifically set up to persecute Falun Gong practitioners]. After transferring to the Xinghua police station, he went all out with a vengeance, using the most brutal means of torture, and had plundered the practitioners' properties and slandered Teacher. He often boasted of his dubious achievement having arrested Duan Rongxin and Zhou Ximeng, the two Dafa assistants in Shijiazhuang city. When the "Principle of Retribution" was explained to him, he refused to accept it. He said, "I have read your books. I know you are good people, and I know you have been wronged. But I am working for the government. If my superior wanted me to kill, I would not hesitate." Once, You Liping, (a Dafa practitioner who had served her time in the labor camp) asked for the return of her 2,000 Yuan RMB illegally held bond, he just cuffed her hands onto the railing without any explanation. When she commented that what he did was against the law. He responded: "What is the law? Whatever I say is the law." Taking the law into his own hands, he looted the homes of Yang Minglan, Huang Xiuping and You Liping.

In December 2000 alone, the Xinghua Police station had arrested and illegally sentenced 9 Dafa practitioners to labor camp. So far, such a small office had prosecuted twelve people.

[Yibin County, Sichuan Province]

Young Officer Liu XX of Yibin County, Sichuan Province, persecuted Dafa practitioners who had gone to Beijing to appeal by sending them to detention centers, imposing cash fines, coercing their employers to dismiss them etc. Over a year and a half ago, while taking a walk, he tripped and fractured his ankle. His ankle is still swollen and has not healed. He needs crutches to walk.

Liu's predecessor, Officer Qian XX who had been involved in confiscating Dafa books from practitioners and destroying them, died suddenly on a card game table one day.

[Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province]

Ma Guisheng, in his early forties, was the principal of a Technical College in Heilongjiang Province. He forced two of the teachers (both Dafa practitioners who had gone to Beijing to appeal, arrested and later released) to resign or be dismissed, for fear that they might jeopardize his prospects for promotion. At a teachers' meeting, he openly criticized and slandered Dafa. Shortly afterwards, the principal had a stroke, and was admitted to the hospital. When he was discharged, being unfit for duty he had to resign from the college.

Han Kunju (in his forties), from the Retirement Homes, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Provice, beat up a Dafa practitioner with an iron baton. He became paralyzed from a stroke shortly after, and was unable to look after himself.

[Xiangyang Town, Guanhan City, Sichuan Province]

June 23, Xiao Jian, the head of Xiangyang town, Guanhan city headed a team to round up Dafa practitioners in the town. The next day, while driving with his family members, he had a collision with a truck. His father was killed instantly. His wife sustained severe injuries. He himself had three of his ribs fractured and sustained a large laceration on his thigh.

[Xianning City, Hubei Province]

When Secretary Kuang Zhengguo of Xianning Public Securuty Bureau discovered that the detained Dafa practitioners went on a hunger strike protesting their illegal detention, he was furious and threw a tantrum, yelling and screaming. He broke three of Tao Xizhen's ribs after beating him with a metal shackle. The next day, Kuang fell ill and had to be admitted to a hospital.

Deputy Officer Song Ruisheng was also a fanatic in persecuting Dafa practitioners. He persecuted over twenty people so far and also extorted money from their families. Practitioner Shi Feiyan was expelled from work because of him and she was forced to go to Wuhan (the capital city of Hubei Province) for work. In January this year, Song Ruisheng and his two teammates, Du Zhiqiang and Bai Yuping drove to Wuhan to apprehend other Falun Dafa practitioners. On the way, their car overturned. Song Ruisheng broke his leg and is now limping. Du Zhiqiang required over thirty stitches on his head, and Bai Yuping went into a coma - his condition is still critical.
