On August 18, Beijing Courts again conducted show trials for forty-five
Falun Gong practitioners, who were recently arrested for exercising their
constitutional right to appeal to the Appeals Bureau in Beijing. These
practitioners received sentences ranging from three to thirteen years.
Located in Daxing County of Beijing, the Xinan Labor Camp currently detains about 1,000 Dafa practitioners. Recently, the camp has stepped up its persecution of practitioners. For practitioners who do not waver, the officials extend their sentences. For practitioners who were newly sent to the labor camp, they use all kinds of methods to torture them, trying to coerce them into denouncing Falun Gong. The group of practitioners who arrived most recently has been deprived of sleep for as long as a month. It is even more common for practitioners to be forced to stand or squat for long periods of time, to receive electric shocks, and to be physically beaten. The Xinan Labor Camp initially had only two sections, but now it has seven, in addition to a section dedicated to youth.
The list of people responsible is as follows:

Wang Liyu and Guo Runfeng, employees of the Huanglong Company in
Gongzhuling City, were arrested by policemen from the Gongzhuling Public
Security Bureau at around 11 p.m. on July 19, 2001. People with good
consciences could not help asking, "Which laws of this country did they
break?" They insisted on believing in "Truthfulness, Compassion,
Forbearance" and did not violate any laws. Why did the police have to
arrest them in the middle of the night? These two practitioners have been
sentenced to one year in labor camp. Wang Liyu was married less than a year
ago, and Guo Runfeng just became a father. His daughter is not even one month
old.
Zhang Wenfu went to Beijing to validate Dafa in 2000 and stayed there to
work on Dafa-related matters. In February 2001, he was arrested in Guangzhou
and has not been heard from since. His family and fellow practitioners worry a
great deal about his safety.
In the evening of June 13, 2001, police officers from the Fusong County Pubic Security Bureau ransacked the homes of four Dafa practitioners without going through proper legal procedures. In addition, they took the practitioners into custody for no reason. Several practitioners are still being illegally detained.
Around July 20, 2001, the police officers from the same bureau ransacked the homes of more than ten practitioners. These policemen sometimes break into private residences in broad daylight by jumping over the walls and going through the windows. Sometimes in the evening, they climb over the walls, enter through the yard, and try to break down the doors even before the people inside have a chance to get dressed. They frequently shine flashlights into the house through the windows. The noise from breaking down the door, yelling and barking of the dogs often disturbed the neighbors badly.

The Heishijiao Police Sub-station has sent all Dafa practitioners in its jurisdiction who refused to renounce Falun Gong to detention centers. They reported every practitioner who had been to Beijing to appeal to their superiors for labor camp sentences. This sub-station is one of the stations that has sent the largest number of people to labor camps in the city of Dalian. Bai Tao is the police officer who has sent the largest number of practitioners to labor camps.
Yu Manyang and a fellow officer severely beat up a practitioner who refused to carry out an unreasonable demand from him. Yu dragged the practitioner over the ground in broad daylight. This caused the practitioner numerous bodily injuries and tore the practitioner's clothes into shreds. In the end, the practitioner was taken away by force.

After the Dalian Labor Camp tortured two practitioners to death recently, out of fear of being found out, they transferred the rest of the detained practitioners to labor camps that have not been exposed. According to insiders, more than ten practitioners have been transferred out so far, and most of them ended up in Guanshan County. One individual was sent to the Northwestern region.
At the same time, the Dalian Labor Camp continued to collaborate with practitioners who have gone astray to try to sway the remaining practitioners.

Recently, the "610 Office" (a government office dedicated to the persecution of Falun Gong) in Chengdu issued another order, which was made public through Neighborhood Committees and companies in the districts and/or counties including Qingyang, Chenghua, Wuhou, Jinniu, Jinjiang, Longquanyi and Qingbaijiang. The employers announced these policies to the practitioners.
Chengdu Dafa practitioners are not moved at all by the last bit of furor
from the evil forces. They firmly expressed that their faith in Dafa was
unshakable. Some practitioners said that they would not waver even if they
took away all their money and forced them to live by collecting garbage in the
streets. They would not budge even if their homes were taken away and they had
to live in the streets.
Two Dafa practitioners in Taiping Village were on a sightseeing trip in Beijing on July 22, 1999. After they returned home, they were sent to the detention center and held there for forty days without being questioned. Their families were forced to pay 6,000 Yuan, (about 12 months salary of an average worker in Chinese cities) of which 1,000 went to the Secretary of the Village. The rest of the money was unaccounted for, as the funds were not recorded into the books of the village.
On February 2, 2000, six practitioners went to Beijing to appeal. The Village Secretary reported the incident to the Township. The officials from the Township tried to arrest those who went to Beijing, and at the same time tried to arrest those whom they thought might go to appeal in the future. They even searched practitioners' homes. As parents of the households were sent to detention centers, these officials drove the children away and took whatever they saw in the residences, including bank deposits slips and cash.
They arrested more than twenty people, including 70 year-olds, a blind person and youngsters. Then, they demanded bail bonds of 2,000 Yuan each. For those who could not come up with the money right away, they accepted IOU's. Two practitioners who went to Beijing were sent to labor camps because they could not afford the payment. Several elderly couples did not have money, nor did they have the ability to make this kind of money. After they were released from the detention center, they kept going to the government offices for payment of the bond. However, those officials used all kinds of excuses and refused to pay them back. Later, the officials asked people in the village to share the cost. Those practitioners refused and said, "These people shouldn't be burdened with this." The Village Chief reported that those practitioners had distributed flyers and sent those who asked the government for money to the detention center. When the family members went to the offices to ask for money again, the Secretary responded, " The 610 Office has given the order that no money will be given out (including the money taken away from the private residences during searches)."
Falun Gong practitioners are good people, yet they have been arrested. The corrupt officials of the County, however, are being protected. People are truly disappointed. Where is the justice?
