On September 22, practitioners from Queensland joined more than 100,000 Australians to celebrate the Toowoomba Flower Festival. They decorated a float in the morning and the parade started at noon. The first Falun Dafa banner marched in front while a newly made banner reading "The World Needs Truth, Compassion, Tolerance" followed. Two young female western practitioners followed behind the two banners. Next came the beautiful Falun Dafa float surrounded by yellow wind wheels, suspended by waves of rainbow colored ribbons. On the float were ten young practitioners sitting on seven lotus flowers while four practitioners were doing the four sets of exercises. Afterwards came a huge blue model of the book with golden letters reading Zhuan Falun.
One thing worth mentioning is that one of the western female practitioners was diagnosed with breast cancer before she started practicing Falun Gong. Three days after she joined the practice, her face changed from dark to a ruby color. Just three weeks later, she came to join the parade and accepted an interview from a reporter.
The parade was very successful. After the parade, some spectators came to get information about Falun Gong and to learn the exercise.
