HOUSTON, October 22, 2002, (Falun Dafa Information Center) -- Days before Chinese Communist leader, Jiang Zemin's, visit to Houston, local businesses and residents have already begun feeeling the pressure.
San Antonio KSAT: Falun Gong Practitioners Bring Rescue Drive To S.A.
SAN ANTONIO -- A group of Falun Gong practitioners stopped in San Antonio on Monday to raise awareness about family members being held in Chinese prisons.
The visit in front of City Hall is part of a nationwide rescue drive in Texas that precedes a meeting between President George W. Bush and Chinese communist leader Jiang Zemin on Oct. 25 at Bush's ranch in Crawford.
Waco Tribune: Falun Gong practitioners seek to raise awareness of persecution
Wang, a researcher at the University of Houston, says his mother was arrested in December 1999 after she went to Beijing to protest the government's treatment of practitioners of the Falun Gong spiritual movement. After learning she had been put in a hospital, Wang flew back to China to try and help her.
