[Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Resist an Illegal Trial to Uphold Justice
Falun Dafa practitioners Lan Qizhi, Zhao Lishan, Zhang Shijun, Niu Mingang, Liu Runlin (female), Yang Xiaojie, Zhang Linjiang, Shi Yan, were arrested on September 28, 2001, and each of them was severely tortured during interrogation. A secret trial was scheduled for mid-September of this year in the Shijiazhuang Intermediate People's Court, but the trial went nowhere because of the practitioners' resistance.

The brainwashing center established by the Daqing Petroleum Administrative Bureau has been persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners from the bureau's work units.
On November 6, practitioner Dai Yi from the refinery was arrested at work and sent to the brainwashing center. The total number of practitioners who have been sent to the center for brainwashing is not clear. Dai Yi was arrested at home early in the morning of September 6. He was detained in the Longfeng Detention Center in Daqing City for over a month. He was then transferred to the Daqing Detention Center, and later sent back home due to health problems. The November 6 arrest occurred less than ten days after he had returned to work. His wife Sheng Xiaoyun was arrested on September 6 as well. While she is being detained at the Daqing Detention Center, nobody is caring for their daughter, who is an elementary school student.

In early November, the "610 Office" and the Public Security Bureau from Gong'an County arbitrarily arrested four Falun Gong practitioners and sent them to forced labor camp without going through legal procedures. Three of the practitioners were arrested at home and sent to the Shayang Forced Labor Camp simply because someone reported that they had clarified the truth of Falun Dafa somewhere a few weeks earlier. [The 610 Office is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political or judicial systems.]
[Wuji County, Hebei Province] Outstanding Teacher Geng Meiying Sent to Forced Labor Camp
Sixty-year-old Geng Meiying is retired, and she was known as an excellent teacher at the Jiaotouchun School in Wuji County of Hebei Province. On December 16, 2001, she was arrested for the second time and illegally detained for over three and a half months. On March 30, 2002, she was sent to the No.5 Team of the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp for brainwashing. The authorities fined her 5,537 yuan (equal to nearly a year's wages of an average urban worker in China). Her husband, who was seriously ill and unable to care for himself, passed away on April 13, 2002.

A few days ago, policemen from the Yuhua Branch of the Public Security Bureau went to some Falun Dafa practitioners' homes to force them to write "guarantee statements." Their intention was to arrest anyone who refused to write the statement. A large number of practitioners have been arrested and sent to brainwashing classes. Ma Ximei from the Tangu Village has been sent to the brainwashing class held by the Tangu Police Substation. Jia, a teacher from the Geology Institute, has been sent to the brainwashing class held by the Huaidi Police Substation. A practitioner from the No.2 Machinery Plant has also been arrested.
