(Clearwisdom.net) Last month, I met the president of Amnesty International's branch in Glasgow University at its monthly meeting. I asked him whether we could introduce Falun Gong to them. He thus invited us to make a presentation at the branch's weekly meeting, and said that we should prepare a poster introducing the content of the meeting on the campus beforehand. That day, four Dafa practitioners living in Glasgow attended the meeting with some Chinese and English VCDs, fliers, newspapers, pamphlets, and A1/A3-size viewing boards introducing the cruel torture practitioners in China have suffered and Falun Dafa's activities around the world. Among the 20 students attending the meeting, one was from Mainland China.
We first briefly introduced the history of Falun Gong, the persecution in Mainland China and the rescue activities launched by overseas practitioners, etc. And then we played the videotape of the SOS-Urgent Rescue activities. It was a pity that we were not able to demonstrate the exercises to them as planned due to time constraints. Finally we mentioned the issue concerning the enactment of Article 23 of the Basic Law in Hong Kong, and all the participants signed their names on a petition letter. After the meeting was adjourned, all the students received the VCDs and newspapers. We also encouraged them to take some Chinese-version VCDs and newspapers for their Chinese classmates and friends. Some students were interested in Falun Gong. We kept in touch with the president, and he invited us to demonstrate the exercises at another meeting. We are planning to contact Amnesty International's other branches in universities in Glasgow and spread Falun Dafa to them.
I especially paid attention to the student from Mainland China. I gave him some Chinese-version VCDs and newspapers. He told me that he was from Beijing and both of his parents are government officials. When asking him to mail the VCDs to his parents, he said that they have understood the real situation of Falun Gong. He also said that his mother once told him about the situation China's past President Liu Shaoqi encountered in the time of the Great Cultural Revolution.
