(Clearwisdom.net) According to the latest statistics on Minghui Net, more than 54,700 Falun Gong practitioners have made "Solemn Declarations" to the world that the documents they signed under duress and detainment in the brainwashing classes are null and void and that they will continue to practice Falun Dafa. The brainwashing classes are organized by China's official departments to force people to give up practicing Falun Gong. Among these Falun Gong practitioners, more than 41,500 of them sent their "Solemn Declarations" to Minghui Net during the first ten months of year 2001. Over the last three months, from November 2001 to January 2002, more than 13,200 Falun Gong practitioners made public "Solemn Declarations" on Minghui Net. These reports confirm that Jiang's attempts to eliminate Falun Gong continue to be ineffective.
According to information from various channels, starting from July 20, 1999, China's government has spent huge amounts of money acquiring equipment to monitor users of the Internet. Extremely strict screening policies block Minghui.org, which carries positive news regarding Falun Gong and FalunDafa.org, which publishes Falun Dafa books. Severe restrictions make access to the internet very difficult, especially since Jiang's regime's policy has been to "Destroy Falun Gong practitioners physically, and cut off Falun Gong practitioners financially." Falun Gong practitioners' financial situation is highly restrained and the number of Chinese people using computers to access the Internet is very small. However, every day many Falun Gong practitioners successfully overcome these difficulties and risk the dangers of being arrested, being sentenced to labor camp, being charged with severe penalties, even being beaten to death to submit their "Solemn Declarations" to Minghui Net. There was one day that Minghui Net received totally more than 470 "Solemn Declarations." For those Falun Gong practitioners who did not know how to sign on to the internet, they wrote their "Solemn Declarations" on small or large signs and posted them in public places to present their determination to continue to practice Falun Gong. For example, it was reported in October 2001 that three Falun Gong practitioners in Guangzhou City wrote their "Solemn Declarations" on large posters and displayed those posters at public places such as the work unit's dormitory for employees and the market nearby, because they cannot locate and access Minghui Net.
It is estimated that the actual number of Falun Gong practitioners who have pledged "Solemn Declarations" to nullify documents they signed under coercion and after being brainwashed greatly exceeds the 54,700 who have been able to deliver them to Minghui Net.
