(Clearwisdom.net) One sand storm after another has swept across Northern China, the Northeastern part of China, and across the Changjiang River. Because of the frequent sand storms, people have experienced the merciless wind and sand, and the terror of natural disasters.
On the morning of April 7, 2002, the strongest sand and dust storm this year swept through nearly the whole province of Jilin. It was dark in Changchun city. The visibility was so low that all flights were delayed.
Also in April, although the city of Harbin was shrouded with sand and dust, large flakes of snow suddenly fell from the sky.
After it was attacked by a sand and dust storm on March 20, Beijing was once again hit by wild gusts of yellow sand. In the morning, the sky was clear and boundless, but in the afternoon, sand whirled everywhere.
For the past fifty years, the frequency of sandstorms in Mainland China, as a whole, has been decreasing. While it slightly increased in the 60s and 70s, it obviously decreased during the 80s to mid 90s. However, since the autumn of 1999, this tendency has changed. Sand storms have increased rapidly in their frequency. According to reported statistics, during the 20th century, there were 5 sand storms in the 50s, 8 in the 60s, 13 in the 70s, 14 in the 80s, and 23 in the 90s (including 1999). In contrast, there were 12 sand storms in the year 2000, and in the year 2001 alone, there were 32 sand storms.
On April 5, in the sky above the area of Jiujiang, the sky was covered with black clouds, and the wind howled. The rain was mixed with hailstones as big as peas. The storm pulled the French parasol trees out of the ground, including their roots. The strength of the storm broke the trunks of the willows down the middle.
In Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, on April 6, the wild wind attacked Nanjing County. It swept away house tiles, blew down trees, and tore down walls. The trunks of the banana trees on the farmlands that had fruit growing in close clusters broke in the middle. Hundred-year old mango trees were blown out of the ground down to their roots. Banana, shaddock, and litchi suffered the heaviest loss. Whole walls in the factories fell down. The majority of farmhouse roofs blew off.
On the evening of April 5, Changxing County of North Zhejiang Province was suddenly hit by a thunderstorm. The strongest wind was over a level 8. The strong wind, along with a powerful rainstorm, continued for over two hours. The rainfall reached 10.2 millimeter. The thunder and the storm devastated local crops. Over 11 thousand mu of fruits and vegetable storage facilities became severely damaged. The economic losses amounted to 30 million yuan.
In addition, in Northern China, because of the arid weather, hundreds of cities and counties are in short supply of water. About 33 million residents are short of drinking water.
Besides this, there were 20 million hectares of farmland facing severe drought. The groundwater level keeps dropping. Compared with the same period last year, the reservoir water in Northern China has decreased about 11 percent. In that area, there have been three continuous years of drought, and the drought will very likely continue this year. The pollution of the water source and the lowered water level of the reservoirs have resulted in a short supply of water in the two major reservoirs in the Beijing suburban areas. Tianjin, Shanghai and Xi'an etc have faced the most severe water supply problems since the formation of the P.R.C.
From North to South, severe natural disasters abound. Looking at these miserable circumstances, we feel a deep concern for the ordinary people in China. We feel a heavy heart. Why, when the economy seems to be flourishing, are the natural and man-made disasters becoming increasingly frequent and severe? Many people think it is natural, and that it comes without purpose. It is not like this. Confucius said, "When committing crimes against heaven, there is no way to pray." The meaning is that when man offends heaven, man can expect nothing except disasters. To whom can man pray? For thousands of years, the Chinese people respected and feared heaven and dared not take rash action. They believed that "good will be rewarded with good and evil met with evil" was the basic moral requirement for being a human being. Based on these beliefs, Chinese civilization would continue without end. However, for the past fifty years, atheism has been rampant all over China. People have been brainwashed. They have been forced to accept atheism. They believe, wrongly, that the whole world thinks it is ignorant to believe in God. How can God become non-existent just because people no longer believe? If you open your eyes, if you look at other countries and peoples, and then, if you look at the relationship between the evil acts of Jiang and his followers and the abnormal phenomena, the natural and man-made disasters in the past three years, you will clearly see this relationship.
Since March 5, when Changchun broadcast the truth-clarifying videotapes of Falun Gong, the policemen in Jilin Province have been searching for and arresting Dafa practitioners. Practitioners Zhou Runjun (female, 51 years old), and Chen Yanmei (female, 40 years old) in Changchun had been arrested and accused of being the ones who initiated the broadcast over the cable television network. Insiders report that Jiang wants to sentence them to death. According to conservative statistics, in Changchun alone, over 5,000 practitioners have been abducted. Almost every day, Dafa practitioners are tortured to death. The majority of the dead are secretly cremated. The insiders say that in Changchun detention centers, labor camps and the "610" brainwashing class of the agriculture school in Xinglongshan, almost every day, a Dafa practitioner is tortured to death during interrogation.
Whether you believe it or not, it is very clear that all of the natural and man-made disasters were caused by Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong and his efforts to exterminate "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." Jiang brings calamities to the country and to the people. He unscrupulously spares no expense to secure his power and his position. Jiang commits all kinds of outrages to humiliate the Chinese people, affront Chinese culture, isolate China from the rest of the world, and delay China in its development. Since Jiang is extremely antagonistic to "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," how can he avoid retribution and the punishment of heaven? The punishment of evil that comes from heaven also brings calamities to those who follow Jiang, and to unconcerned onlookers. People of China, please consider where you stand on the issue of persecution. If your stand is not correct, it is you who will face the hardships and calamities. Remember, "Good will be rewarded with good and evil with evil."
