A Decade Inscribed (Poem)

May 1, 2002 Speeding through this life-long play
Quiet in the happiness of each and every day
Through life's difficult tests we prefer to nod and smile,
Practicing our Great Way all the while.

Many now know of us, yet it wasn't always that way,
In parks meditating and exercising, we started our everyday
For the most part out of sight, doing our jobs and reading at night
Those who wanted to learn, hearts smiling, we taught with delight

Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance the universal quality
No politics and religion, "a Great Way without formality"
These three words that give all life, we want everyone to know
They encompass all our teachings, helping us to purge and grow

As hate is hate and peace it must break, the persecution began,
Permeating societal China, reaching throughout all lands
Crossing over oceans and mountains, wave on wave of lies,
Ask yourselves why these practitioners stepped forward to risk their lives?

A global appeal appeared, the world heard loud and clear-
An evil dictator, the resources of his nation and his campaign of terror and fear
Inside China dying for truth, outside, living to speak it,
Falun Dafa is good, join our call, please help us to protect it.

This evil grew feeding on this fear, forcing tears each time
So with our lives, spare moments and savings we countered this terrible crime
We call on you the populace, to join us facing this tyranny
Together not alone, many standing with us, we write our future history

While the malice continues its hating and deterioration
Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance endure for all creation
Sacred in its magnificence, forever these words will nurture
We welcome you to Falun Dafa Week, wishing our world a wonderful future
