(Clearwisdom.net) Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionateáreminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

1. Mr. Xie Yunbo, deputy director of a detention center in Dehui city, Jilin province, once threw a photograph of Li Hongzhi, Falun Dafa's Teacher, to the ground and trampled it. Ignorantly he said, " When the time of the Fa's rectification in human world comes, I shall already be in hell." At the end of May 2002, he suffered a massive heart attack while in the company of a prostitute and died on the scene.

2. In Guan County, Shandong Province, a Falun Dafa practitioner became much kinder to her mother-in-law after she began practicing Falun Gong. Her mother-in-law, believing the Chinese government propaganda, began to defame Falun Dafa. While trying to persuade her mother-in-law not to believe the lies on Chinese TV, the practitioner explained that all Falun Dafa practitioners strive to be good people. Yet, her mother-in-law, choosing not to believe this said, "If Falun Gong is really good, then let me die immediately." Within one day, a large tumor had grown on her stomach. The woman's doctor stated that he had never before seen such a case. Although the practitioner's mother-in-law was in a lot of pain, rolling back and forth on the ground, she still failed to discern the correct path. Tragically, she continued to defame Falun Dafa, and later died in great pain.

3. In Chongzhou City, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, an elderly female grocery store owner frequently took down flyers posted about Falun Dafa. On a cold night in January 2002, she and several other people gathered around a fire to keep warm. Seemingly without reason, the flames jumped up and severely burnt the woman's face, leading her to spend about two month's salary on medical expenses. After the incident, a Falun Dafa practitioner advised her to stop destroying material clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to the Chinese people. Realizing the correct course of action, the elderly woman stopped destroying posted materials relating to Falun Dafa.
