On August 7, 2002, the Swiss Transnational Radical Party's representative to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights gave the following speech during the local practitioners' peaceful appeal in Federal Square:
The Transnational Radical Party supports this appeal activity opposing the Hong Kong authorities' severe violation of the right of law.
Over the years, the Transnational Radical Party has consistently denounced China's assortment of acts violating citizens' freedom of speech, religion, and belief.
In this spirit, the Transnational Radical Party gives its full support to the Falun Gong practitioners' appeal activity and condemns all forms of suppression of democracy and freedom.
On several occasions, the Transnational Radical Party has raised the issue of the persecution of Falun Gong at the United Nations Commission on Human Rights and supports the Falun Gong practitioners' appeal activities within other European institutions.
The Transnational Radical Party will continue to give its full support to the Falun Gong practitioners' appeal activities.
