2. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Xu Junshan Is Illegally Sentenced to Fifteen Years
In June of 2001, Xingtai practitioner Xu Junshan, male, 58, was illegally detained by the Xingtai Police Department for printing Dafa materials. He is now being detained at the Xingtai First Detention Center. The police brutally beat him many times during interrogations, injuring him so severely that he could not walk when they opened the court session last winter. At the court Mr. Xu disseminated the truth about Falun Dafa and defended himself [In China, the Jiang regime does not allow lawyers to defend Falun Gong practitioners]. He said, "What I have done is not for self-interest, but for everyone." Many people were moved by his words. Mr. Xu has also been clarifying the truth to the inmates and the police in detention center and has rectified the environment there well. After being illegally imprisoned for more than one year (more than half a year after the opening of the court session), he was illegally sentenced to 15 years. His fellow inmates and the police at the detention center all felt very surprised and that he was treated so unjustly.
3. [Changchun, Jilin Province] The Nanguan District Court Plans An Illegal Trial For Some Falun Gong Practitioners Who Are Arrested Before March 15, 2002
According to our information, the Nanguan District Court will illegally hold a trial for some Falun Gong practitioners who have been illegally jailed since March 15, 2002. The trial is scheduled for 8 a.m. on August 21, and some of the practitioner's families have been notified.
4. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Xu Wenqing Is Arrested Near Chaoyang's Second Hospital
Around 8 p.m. on August 8, 2002, Xu Wenqing, female, in her 60s, and another practitioner were kidnapped while they posted Falun Dafa materials near the Chaoyang Second Hospital. We do not know their whereabouts.
5. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] The Crimes of the Head of Chaoyang County Detention Center
Hao Naifeng, male, is the head of the Chaoyang County Detention Center in Chaoyang City. He has tortured Dafa practitioners by tying several practitioners together and shocking them with high voltage electric batons. He would not stop even after some female practitioners became incontinent, unable to hold their urine due to the abuse. For two years he has been using these methods of torture to brainwash practitioners, forcing them to betray their personal belief. His cell phone number is 86-394-213-9071
6. [Baipiao City, Hebei Province] Evil People's Crimes
On May 11, and May 12, 2002, the Baipiao City Police Department in Chaoyang City arrested approximately 1,000 Falun Dafa practitioners. The police asked the practitioners whether they practice Falun Gong and arrested everyone who said yes. They sent some practitioners to brainwashing centers and others to labor camps. Currently, more than 180 practitioners are still being illegally detained.

Pei Hua, male, 45, the Vice-Party Secretary of the Baipiao Politics and Law Committee is also the head of the region's "610 Office". He has been persecuting Falun Gong practitioners and has received several "awards" from the above "employers." He directly persecuted approximately 300 practitioners. Zhu Changxi, male, 48, the Vice-Party Secretary of the Baipiao City Committee, has held eight meetings where he attacked and slandered Falun Gong. His home phone is 86-421-5816118
Li Mingfang, male, 45, the Party Secretary of he Baipiao Politics and Law Committee, is the person ultimately responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong in Baipiao. He endorses and sign off on all the illegal labor camp sentences of Falun Gong practitioners. He has persecuted more than 300 practitioners. His home phone number is 86-421-5826219.
Fang Zhenhua, male, 52, the vice-head of the Baipiao Police Department, is the person primarily responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong within the police system. He directed police to illegally arrest several practitioners. His home phone number is 86-421-5822369
7. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Yangjiazhangzi Mine Bureau Police Department Arrests Falun Dafa Practitioners
At 9 p.m. on August 2, 2002, Falun Gong practitioner Lu Shujun, in her 30s; practitioner Wang Guixia, in her 50s, and two other practitioners were arrested by Yangjiazhangzi Mine Bureau Police Department officers.at a party in the mine area. Seven policemen punched and kicked the practitioners and forced them into police cars. They have been illegally detained at the Huludao Detention Center. Lu Shujun has been on a hunger strike, without water, to resist the evil persecution.
8. [Baoding, Hebei Province] A Falun Dafa Practitioner Goes to Tiananmen to Validate Dafa on July 20, 2002 and is Arrested
A Baoding Falun Dafa practitioner went to Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa on July 20, 2002. This is the third time that she has stepped forward to validate Dafa. She also did so on April 25th and May 13th of this year. To date, we do not have any further information.
9. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Wang Zilin Goes to Beijing to Appeal and is Arrested
Wang Zilin, female, 37, is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Jiangbei Forest in Datun Xiang, Longtan district, Jilin City. She started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. She went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa on November 19, 2000 and was arrested by the police. We do not know her whereabouts.
10. [Chongli County, Hebei Province] "610 Office" and the Police Agencies Confiscate Money From Falun Dafa Practitioners and Families and Use It In Gambling and Women
Since July 20, 1999, members of Hebei Chongli County's "610 Office" and police agencies have been persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. Besides using illegal imprisonments, brainwashing sessions, and labor camps, they have also been extorting money from practitioners' families. According to internal sources, they have personally collected more than 200,000 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan] illegally. They amassed this sum by extorting more than 8,000 Yuan from each detained practitioner and by demanding 1,000 -- 3,000 Yuan from each practitioner's family. They never provide receipts, and they do not record the sums in their regular accounting systems. With the stolen money, they reward people who have "credits" for persecuting Dafa practitioners (sometimes as much as 5,000 Yuan.) They also have been spending the money on expensive meals, other luxuries, gambling, and women.
11. [Nanhui, Shanghai] Female Falun Dafa Practitioner Li Jiumei Is Tortured in Mental Hospital
Li Jiumei of Nanhui, Shanghai went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in March of 2002. Beijing police tortured her by taking her clothes off and pouring 18 barrels of cold water over her. In April of 2002, they sent her back to Shanghai and imprisoned her in a mental hospital. She is still being tortured there.
12. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] The Police Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioner Wu Hongxia at His Home
Wu Hongxia of Hengyang City was arrested by the police at home on August 12, 2002. Wu is approximately 50-years-old and was employed at the Hengyang Food Service Company as a chef. He is now being illegally held at the Hengyang Wangjiawan Forced Labor Camp without trial. The police stole his bank certificate of deposit and forced him to write a statement renouncing Falun Gong. They threatened that he would be sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp if he did not comply.
13. [China] He Zuoxiu Slanders Falun Gong as Superstition
CCTV recently reported that He Zuoxiu and others recently made a video program that slanders Falun Dafa. They are attempting to broadcast the program nationwide.
He called himself a "theoretical physicist." Ironically, he does not have any academic achievement. His title of "Member of the National Science Institute" was obtained by political opportunism. In China nowadays, even Jiang Zemin's son who does not have any real credentials could become the vice-chairman of the National Science Institute. What is the significance of He Zuoxiu's title?
Although lacking in scientific ability and training, he has his unique path in politics. He has become the "famous scientist" through slandering Falun Gong. Using strategies straight out of the "Cultural Revolution" such as slandering, swearing, denouncing, and making allegations, he helps the dictator to oppress a spiritual belief. This is truly an insult to science.
